Description

A COOKING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a cooking device providing ease of use.
Today cooking devices are used for preparing foodstuffs by means of processes such as heating, cooking, etc. The cooking devices exhibit structural and design differences depending on the need and can be used in a wide field. The oven is one of the most frequently used devices to prepare foodstuffs. There are different cooking functions required for efficiently cooking different types of foodstuffs. For example, the amount of heat to be transferred onto two different types of foodstuffs during the cooking process is different from each other. In the oven, generally a plurality of support members are provided, which are suitable for placing the foodstuffs to be cooked thereon. The user places the foodstuff to be cooked at the level of the desired support member. However, the user may place the foodstuff on a support member different from the support member required for an efficient cooking process. Therefore, the efficiency of the cooking process decreases.
In the state of the art Great Britain Patent Document No. GB2486845, a cooking device is disclosed, wherein the positions of a plurality of support members in the cooking cavity are defined by means of at least one light source provided on at least one side wall.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooking device comprising a light source which guides the user to the proper support member according to the type of foodstuff to be cooked and which increases the efficiency of the cooking process.
The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a cooking cavity wherein the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed; a casing in the form of a box with the front side open which has a plurality of walls enclosing the cooking cavity; and a plurality of support members which are disposed on the side walls so as to support one or more trays. The user accesses the cooking cavity by means of a door. By means of a control panel provided on the casing, the user determines the parameters for the cooking process and the type of foodstuff. The cooking process is controlled by a control unit. In the cooking cavity, a plurality of support members are provided whereon the user can place the foodstuff to be cooked. On the front wall of the casing at least one indicator is provided, which corresponds to each support member. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the indicators are numbers which are different from each other and zero. An embossment is provided on each indicator. At least one light source is provided on the front wall of the casing. The light source is positioned so as to remain between each indicator and each embossment.
The cooking device of the present invention comprises the control unit which provides that the embossment, which corresponds to the support member whereon the foodstuff placed into the cooking cavity must be placed depending on the type thereof, is illuminated by means of the light source. Different types of foodstuffs must be placed on different support members in order to ensure an efficient cooking process. In the control unit the producer prerecords the support member level whereon different types of foodstuffs must be placed in order to ensure an efficient cooking process. The user determines the type of foodstuff to be cooked by means of the control panel. The information on the type of foodstuff determined is transmitted to the control unit, and the control unit energizes the light source which illuminates the embossment corresponding to the support member suitable for said type of foodstuff. Thus, the user is enabled to place the foodstuff onto the proper support member required for an efficient cooking process.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises at least one protective body which is provided on each light source and which prevents the light source from being affected by the heat in the cooking cavity. During the cooking process, the temperature in the cooking cavity increases. By means of the protective body, the light source is prevented from being affected by the heat in the cooking cavity. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, LED is used as the light source.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises a sensing member which is provided on the casing and which detects the type of foodstuff placed into the cooking cavity, and the control unit which energizes the light source corresponding to the embossment of the proper support member depending on the data received from the sensing member. By means of the sensing member, the type of foodstuff placed into the cooking cavity is detected without determining the parameters of the cooking device such as type of foodstuff, etc. by means of the control panel. The information on the type of foodstuff detected by the sensing member is transmitted to the control unit. The control unit compares the transmitted foodstuff type information with the predetermined support member information whereon different types of foodstuffs must be placed and then energizes the light source which illuminates the embossment corresponding to the proper support member. Thus, the user is enabled to place the foodstuff onto the proper support member required for an efficient cooking process.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises the light source which illuminates the embossment with a different color depending on the cooking status by detecting the cooking status of the foodstuff in the cooking cavity by means of an imaging unit disposed on the casing. By means of the imaging unit positioned so as to capture the images of the cooking cavity, the user can visually check the foodstuff being cooked without opening the door of the cooking device. The information on the status of the cooking process detected by the imaging unit is transmitted to the control unit. The control unit enables the light source to illuminate the embossment with a different color so as to inform the user of the status of the cooking process.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises a light guide which is provided between the light source and the door and which transfers the light, emitted by the light source onto the embossment, onto the door. Thus, the user can be informed about the status of the cooking process and the support member whereon the foodstuff to be cooked must be placed without opening the door of the cooking device.
By means of the present invention, the type of the foodstuff placed into the cooking cavity is determined by means of the sensing member, and the control unit energizes the light source which illuminates the embossment corresponding to the support member whereon the foodstuff must be placed in order to ensure an efficient cooking process.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device (1) comprises the light source (10) which illuminates the embossment (9) with a different color depending on the cooking status by detecting the status of the foodstuff in the cooking cavity (2) by means of an imaging unit (13) disposed on the casing (3). The imaging unit (13) is disposed onto the casing (3) so as to capture images of the cooking cavity (2). By means of the imaging unit (13), the user can visually check the foodstuff being cooked without opening the door (5) of the cooking device (1). The imaging unit (13) detects the cooking status of the foodstuff placed into the cooking cavity (2), and then the relevant data is transmitted to the control unit (7). The control unit (7) enables the light source (10) to illuminate the embossment (9) with a different color depending on different cooking statuses. Thus, the user can be informed about the status of the cooking process without requiring the user to open the door (5) of the cooking device (1).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device (1) comprises a light guide (14) which is provided between the light source (10) and the door (5) and which transfers the light, emitted by the light source (10) onto the embossment (9), onto the door (5).
