Definitions
- the non-volatile memory has an object store which stores events as objects and each object has a unique identifier and timestamp(relating to when the event was received by the processor) tagged to it by the processor.
- the processor takes care of the condition that all event objects in the non-volatile memory has unique identifiers at all times.
- the processor picks up these event objects in batches in First-In- First-Out(FIFO) manner and pushes them to a ring buffer in volatile memory for processing(Batch size here would be based on the available free memory in the ring buffer).
- the processor eventually processes these event objects and removes those event objects from the ring buffer in volatile memory which have been consumed or processed.

Abstract
In this invention we have a continuous event stream and a system consisting of volatile memory, non-volatile memory and a processor to process the above event stream. The non-volatile memory has an object store which stores events as objects and each object has a unique identifier and timestamp (relating to when the event was received by the processor) tagged to it by the processor. The processor takes care of the condition that all event objects in the non-volatile memory has unique identifiers at all times. The processor picks up these event objects in batches in First-In-First-Out manner and pushes them to a ring buffer in volatile memory for processing. The processor eventually processes these event objects and removes those event objects from the ring buffer in volatile memory which have been consumed or processed.
Description
Continuous Event Stream Processor
In this invention we have a continuous event stream and a system consisting of volatile memory, non-volatile memory and a processor to process the above event stream. The non-volatile memory has an object store which stores events as objects and each object has a unique identifier and timestamp(relating to when the event was received by the processor) tagged to it by the processor. The processor takes care of the condition that all event objects in the non-volatile memory has unique identifiers at all times. The processor picks up these event objects in batches in First-In- First-Out(FIFO) manner and pushes them to a ring buffer in volatile memory for processing(Batch size here would be based on the available free memory in the ring buffer). The processor eventually processes these event objects and removes those event objects from the ring buffer in volatile memory which have been consumed or processed.
Claims
1. In this invention we have a continuous event stream and a system consisting of volatile memory, non-volatile memory and a processor to process the above event stream. The non volatile memory has an object store which stores events as objects and each object has a unique identifier and timestamp(relating to when the event was received by the processor) tagged to it by the processor. The processor takes care of the condition that all event objects in the non-volatile memory has unique identifiers at all times. The processor picks up these event objects in batches in First-In-First-Out(FIFO) manner and pushes them to a ring buffer in volatile memory for processing(Batch size here would be based on the available free memory in the ring buffer). The processor eventually processes these event objects and removes those event objects from the ring buffer in volatile memory which have been consumed or processed. The above novel technique of processing a continuous event stream is the claim for this invention.
