In this case, the second edge (6) is seated onto the rim of the opening on the counter (2) wherein the cooker (1) is installed. Thus, the connection member (4) remains between the counter (2) and the casing (3) in an aligned manner. Consequently, without using a safety connection member (4), the connection member (4) which assumes the properties of the safety connection member (4) prevents the cooker (1) from falling through the counter (2) opening.
Description
The present invention relates to a connection member which enables the cooker to be mounted on the counter in an easy and proper manner.
Since the thicknesses of counters and/or the lower casings of the cookers vary, various mounting members are required for adjusting the level of the cooker, which is installed into the opening on the counter in the kitchen furniture, with respect to the counter. Thus, the cooker can be mounted so as to be almost at the same level with the counter independently from the thickness of the counter whereon the cooker is to be placed.
In the state of the art, the cooker glass is connected to the corner connection member (bracket) with silicone. The cooker glass and the corner connection member are connected together to the lower casing under the cooker. In order to prevent the cooker placed into the counter opening from falling, two safety connection members are used. The use of safety connection members increase the number of components used, which in turn increases costs and labor. Moreover, since the safety connection member is relatively long, liquid leak problems may arise due to the level difference between the glass and the safety connection member. Furthermore, in order to prevent the burrs on the safety connection member from damaging the glass, a tape is adhered thereon. This increases both labor and assembly time.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2110607, it is disclosed that the cooker is mounted into the opening on the counter by means of a connection member.
Another state of the art embodiment is disclosed in United States Patent Application No. US2016169532. In this embodiment, a connection member used for mounting the cooktop to the counter is disclosed.
In another state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2407675, a safety bracket is disclosed, which enables the lower coating of a built-in home appliance to be positioned.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a connection member which enables the cooker to be safely mounted to the counter.
The connection member realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises at least one first edge on the base thereof whereon the glass is placed, which is seated onto the casing and which extends in the horizontal plane, and at least one second edge on the ceiling thereof which is seated onto the counter and which extends in the horizontal plane in a direction opposite to the first edge.
By means of the present invention, the cooker can be mounted so as to be at the same level with the counter in a safe manner without requiring a large number of components. Thus, ease of assembly is provided and the cooker is enabled to be mounted to the opening on the counter in a leakproof manner.
Moreover, in an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member comprises a foot between the first edge and the second edge which is positioned in the vertical plane, and a protrusion which extends from the foot towards the second edge and which is inclined towards the center of the cooker.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member comprises a groove which is positioned between the second edge and the protrusion at the same horizontal plane as the second edge and the protrusion and which extends along the connection member. Thus, with the silicone injected into the groove, the glass is fixed onto the connection member. By means of the groove, the silicone is prevented from overflowing towards unwanted areas and creating unaesthetic appearance which can be seen from the other side of the glass.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the connection member comprises an additional edge on the ceiling thereof which is seated onto the counter, which is adjacent to the second edge extending in the horizontal plane and which extends parallel to the first edge in the same direction as the first edge but opposite to the second edge.
By means of the present invention, without using a safety connection member, the connection member which assumes the properties of the safety connection member prevents the cooker from falling through the counter opening. Thus, the need for using two separate components and screwing said components is eliminated. By using the connection member only at the corner not along the edge of the glass, the problem of liquid leak due to the level difference between the glass and the connection member is prevented. Moreover, since there is no need for adhering a tape on the connection member used only at the corner, the need for the taping process required in the prior art is eliminated. Thus, saving in labor and time is provided.
A connection member realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 - is the front perspective view of a connection member.
Figure 2 - is the sideways perspective view of the connection member.
Figure 3 - is the perspective view of the casing and the connection member which is seated onto the counter.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
- Cooker
- Counter
- Casing
- Connection member
- First edge
- Second edge
- Foot
- Protrusion
- Groove
The connection member (4) comprises at least one first edge (5) on the base thereof whereon the glass is placed, which is seated onto the casing (3) and which extends in the horizontal plane, and at least one second edge (6) on the ceiling thereof which is seated onto the counter (2) and which extends in the horizontal plane in a direction opposite to the first edge (5) (Figure 1).
In the embodiment of the present invention, the first edge (5) is seated onto the casing (3) under the cooker (1).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (4) further comprises a foot (7) between the first edge (5) and the second edge (6) which is positioned in the vertical plane, and a protrusion (8) which extends from the foot (7) towards the second edge (6) and which is inclined towards the center of the cooker (1). In this embodiment, the first edge (5) is seated onto the casing (3) under the cooker (1) while the second edge (6) is seated onto the rim of the opening on the counter (2) wherein the cooker (1) is installed. The protrusion extends under the glass and supports the glass from below.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (4) comprises a groove (9) which is positioned between the second edge (6) and the protrusion (8) at the same horizontal plane as the second edge (6) and the protrusion (8) and which extends along the connection member (4). Thus, by means of the adhesive such as silicone, etc. injected into the groove (9), the glass is fixed onto the connection member (4). By means of the groove (9), the adhesive is used for fixing the glass without overflowing from the groove (9) (Figure 2 and Figure 3).
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (4) is L-shaped. Thus, the connection member (4) can be placed at the corner of the cooker (1) and the counter (2) opening at a 90-degree angle.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (4) has a Z-shaped profile. Thus, the cooker (1) is enabled to be seated onto the opening on the counter (2) by using a connection member (4) which can be seated both on the counter (2) and the casing (3).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (4) comprises an additional edge (not shown in figures) on the ceiling thereof which is seated onto the counter (2), which is adjacent to the second edge (6) extending in the horizontal plane and which extends parallel to the first edge (5) in the same direction as the first edge but opposite to the second edge (6). In this embodiment, the first edge (5) is seated onto the casing (3) under the cooker (1) while the second edge (6) is seated onto the rim of the opening on the counter (2) wherein the cooker (1) is installed. At the same time, the additional edge supports the glass from below. Consequently, without using a safety connection member (4), the connection member (4) which assumes the properties of the safety connection member (4) prevents the cooker (1) from falling through the counter (2) opening.
By means of the present invention, the need for using two separate components and screwing said components is eliminated. By using the connection member (4) only at the corner not along the edge of the glass, the problem of liquid leak due to the level difference between the glass and the connection member (4) is prevented. Moreover, since there is no need for adhering a tape on the connection member (4) used only at the corner, the need for the taping process required in the prior art is eliminated. Thus, saving in labor and time is provided.
