Description

COSMETIC CONTAINER STORING DIFFERENT TYPES OF MATERIALS
The present invention relates to a cosmetic container storing a cosmetic product, such as a lip gloss. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cosmetic container storing different types of materials, the cosmetic container being able to store both a first cosmetic in the form of powder or gel and a second cosmetic in the form of liquid or gel while preventing the first cosmetic and the second cosmetic from mixing with each other and allowing the first cosmetic and the second cosmetic material to be selectively used.
product is contained in a single container, and is used after a cover attached to the upper portion of the container is opened.
Commonly, in the case of functional cosmetics that have been popular recently, two different cosmetic products are used after being mixed or two cosmetic products are used sequentially to obtain better effects, instead that a single cosmetic product is used.
Accordingly, research on cosmetic containers having a novel structure by which a single cosmetic container can store two products in a single container has been undertaken, and some of such research has been filed for patent rights. A most important factor for the cosmetic container storing different types of materials is that two materials must not be mixed while being stored in the container. This is because a better effect can be obtained when the materials are mixed right before being used, and the effect may be degraded when the materials are mixed earlier.
However, most cosmetic containers storing different types of materials of the related art are only configured to separately store different types of materials while allowing different types of materials to be mixed to be used, but do not have a structure by which different types of materials can be used separately. Accordingly, users must accept inconvenience when using such cosmetic containers, which is problematic.
A plurality of patent documents was found when prior-art retrieval relating to the present invention has been undertaken. Some of the prior-art patent documents are introduced as follows.
Patent Document 1 discloses a cosmetic container storing different types of materials, including: a hollow outer container; a liquid discharger rotatably coupled to the upper portion of the outer vessel to discharge cosmetic materials; and an inner container coupled to the lower portion of the outer container via a sealing means to define storage spaces in which different types of materials are stored. The cosmetic container has a structure by which different types of materials can be easily mixed and simply used.
Patent Document 2 discloses a cosmetic container storing different types of materials, including: a cap member wrapped on the upper portion of a container body to be rotatable with respect to the container body and a first material opening means for holding and lifting a first material pack. The cap member accommodates a pump dispenser fitted therein, and is provided with a peripheral knob. A cylindrical portion is provided within the cap member, and has threads on a circumferential wall and inclined teeth on the lower end thereof. A first material pack holder has a guide protrusion on a circumferential wall, a spiral rib on an inner surface of the upper portion, and a stepped portion on an inner surface of the lower portion. When a user intends to use a cosmetic product in a liquid form, the user mixes raw material powder stored in the first material pack with a second material in a liquid form or the like, by opening the first material pack accommodated in the container.
Patent Document 3 discloses a cosmetic container for dispensing different types of fluids, including: a container body, a button, a housing, and a two-fluid valve. The container body has an open upper portion and including first and second inner chambers arranged in the top-bottom direction to store materials of liquid and high-pressure gas, respectively. The button is provided above the container body to be moved downwards by a pressing manipulation and elastically return to the original position, and has a dispenser dispensing the materials in a lateral direction. The housing is an element coupled to the upper portion of the container body to support upward and downward movements of the button, and includes a fixing member therein, wherein the fixing member draws in and stores the liquid material from the first chamber when the button is moved upwards and supplies the stored material to the dispenser when the button is moved downwards. The upper end of the two-fluid valve is connected to an inner central portion of the button connected to the dispenser. The lower end of the two-fluid valve is connected to a lower end of an ascending-and-descending pipe located above the second chamber. The two-fluid valve supplies the high-pressure gas in the second chamber to the ascending-and-descending pipe when moved downward in concert with the ascending-and-descending pipe. In a pumping operation of the user pressing the button, a first type of material comprised of a liquid starts to be dispensed. While the first type of material is being dispensed, a second type of material comprised of a gas, such as oxygen or fragrant gas, is dispensed along the route along which the first type of material is being dispensed. Since the different types of materials consisting of liquid and gas can be dispensed through a single channel, the cosmetic container can have a simple structure and thus be fabricated economically.
Patent Document 4 discloses a cosmetic container including a first container portion storing a first type of cosmetic material and provided with a discharger and a second container portion storing a second type of cosmetic material and coupled to one end of the first container portion. The cosmetic container separately stores the different types of cosmetic materials, and sequentially discharges the first and second types of cosmetic materials, so that a user can mix the first and second types of cosmetic materials to use.

FIGS. 5A and 5B are cross-sectional views illustrating the cosmetic container storing different types of materials according to an embodiment of the present invention before and after the use of a category 2 cosmetic.
Hereinafter, a cosmetic container storing different types of materials according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
As illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 5B, the cosmetic container storing different types of materials according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a main container 11 having a threaded portion 11b on the upper end portion and an inner storage space 11a storing a first type of cosmetic material in a liquid or gel form, such as a lip gloss, an essence product, or a concealer; an inner container 15 storing a second type of cosmetic material in a liquid or gel form, such as a nourishing agent or a coating agent; a body 17, with the lower end portion being fastened to the main container 11, the inner container 15 being non-rotatably coupled to the inner portion of the body 17; an applicator 12 coupled to an outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15, having a hole through which the second type of cosmetic material is dispensed, and configured to be dipped into the first type of cosmetic material and apply the first type of cosmetic material to a target; a piston 16 disposed in an entrance side of the inner container 15 to compress the second type of cosmetic material; a check valve 13 disposed within the outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15 to open an inner outlet under the pressure of the second type of cosmetic material; a manipulating member 18 rotatably coupled to the body 17 to move the piston 16 in a compressing direction; and a wiper 14 disposed on the upper end portion of the main container 11 to wipe the first type of cosmetic material adhered to an outer surface of the applicator 12.
Here, the inner container 15 includes a larger-diameter storage portion 15b storing the second type of cosmetic material, the smaller-diameter outlet portion 15a extending from the storage portion 15b such that the applicator 12 is coupled thereto, and a body portion 15c fitted into the body 17 while providing an outer portion of the storage portion 15b.
The storage portion 15b has a cylindrical shape, with the upper portion thereof being open. The outlet portion 15a has a cylindrical shape, with the lower portion thereof being open, and is connected to the lower portion of the storage portion 15b. The outlet portion 15a is configured such that the check valve 13 is disposed within the outlet portion 15a, and the applicator 12 is fitted into the lower portion of the outlet portion 15a.
In addition, the check valve 13 is disposed in a smaller-diameter hole of the outlet portion 15a to provide an inner outlet through which the second type of cosmetic material is discharged to a larger-diameter hole into which the applicator 12 is fitted.
In addition, the body portion 15c is provided with longitudinal grooves provided in an outer circumferential surface of the upper portion thereof, extending in a longitudinal direction thereof. The grooves are arranged in the radial direction at predetermined distances from each other, such that the body portion 15c is fitted into the body 17. Threads are provided on the lower portion of the body portion 15c, allowing the wiper 14 to be coupled thereto.
The applicator 12 includes a fitting portion 12a and a touching portion 12b. The fitting portion 12a is fitted into the outlet portion 15a to a position at a predetermined distance from the inner outlet provided inside of the outlet portion 15a. The touching portion 12b has a curved outer circumferential surface, with which is dipped into the first type of cosmetic material to apply the first type of cosmetic material to the target. The fitting portion 12a is interference-fitted into the outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15 to prevent the second type of cosmetic material from leaking through other portions than the hole of the applicator 12. Consequently, the first type of cosmetic material in the main container 11 does not mix with the second type of cosmetic material in the inner container 15.
In addition, the touch portion 12b is to be used to be dipped into the first type of cosmetic material in the main container 11 and apply the first type of cosmetic material to the target. A brush may be attached to an outer surface of the touch portion 12b, depending on the types of the first type of cosmetic material. The shape, structure, or material of the touch portion 12b is not limited as long as the touch portion 12b has a hole through which the second type of cosmetic material in the inner container 15 can be discharged.
The check valve 13 includes an insertion portion 13a, an engaging portion 13c, and a closing diaphragm 13b. The insertion portion 13a is inserted into the smaller-diameter hole of the outlet portion 15a, with the outer diameter of the insertion portion 13a being smaller than the inner diameter of the smaller-diameter hole of the outlet portion 15a. The engaging portion 13c is provided on the insertion portion 13a to be coupled to the inner portion of the outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15. The closing diaphragm 13b is provided on the leading end of the insertion portion 13a to open and close the inner outlet provided within the outlet portion 15a.
According to this configuration, although the second type of cosmetic material in the inner container 15 flows toward the inner outlet through a gap between the outlet portion 15a and the insertion portion 13a, the closing diaphragm 13b closes the inner outlet, so that the second type of cosmetic material does not flow to the applicator 12 unless the closing diaphragm 13b is deformed by pressure applied to the second type of cosmetic material.
In addition, the engaging portion 13c is fitted into the outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15, thereby holding the check valve 13 from being dislodged.
The wiper 14 is configured to remove the first type of cosmetic material adhered to portions of the touching portion 12b, other than the distal end of the touching portion 12b in close contact with the touching portion 12b of the applicator 12. The wiper 14 has a cylindrical structure, with the lower end portion thereof being in close contact with the outer surface of the touching portion 12b of the applicator 12.
The piston 16 has a piston body 16a compressing the second type of cosmetic material while moving along the inner portion of the storage portion 15b of the inner container 15 and an adjustable screw portion 16b protruding from the upper portion of the piston body 16a to be coupled to the manipulating member 18.
The outer circumferential portion of the piston body 16a is provided in the shape of a diaphragm to be in close contact with the inner surface of the storage portion 15b, thereby preventing the second type of cosmetic material stored in the storage portion 15b from leaking upward of the piston body 16a. In addition, the adjustable screw portion 16b is screw-coupled to the manipulating member 18 to linearly move in a direction of compressing the second type of cosmetic material in response to forward rotation of the manipulating member 18.
The body 17 includes a separator plate 17a configured to be in contact with the upper end of the storage portion 15b of the inner container 15 and locate the piston body 16a therebelow. This configuration causes the inner container 15 to be firmly coupled to the body 17, and prevents the piston body 16a of the piston 16 from being dislodged. In addition, the body 17 has longitudinal protrusions in the inner surface of the lower portion thereof, extending in the longitudinal direction of the body 17. The longitudinal protrusions correspond to the longitudinal grooves in the outer portion of the body portion 15c of the inner container 15. This structure prevents the inner container 15 from rotating after the inner container 15 is coupled to the body 17.
The manipulating member 18 includes a knob 18a located above the body 17, a cylindrical body 18b extending downward from the knob 18a to be rotatably coupled to the body 17, and a manipulation screw portion 18c cylindrically protruding downward from a middle portion of the bottom surface of the knob 18a and having female threads on the inner circumferential surface thereof, such that the adjustable screw portion 16b of the piston 16 is coupled to the manipulation screw portion 18c. Consequently, when the manipulating member 18 is rotated in a forward direction, the adjustable screw portion 16b screw-coupled to the manipulation screw portion 18c moves the piston 16 in the compressing direction while linearly moving.
Here, the manipulating member 18 may be rotated only in a single direction to move the piston 16 only in the compressing direction. This is because, when the manipulating member 18 is rotated backwards, negative pressure may act to the piston 16, making it difficult to rotate the piston 16, and air may enter the storage portion 15b. In this regard, a toothed portion 18d may be provided on the lower end portion of the body 18b, and at least one anti-reverse rotation protrusion 17b may be provided on a peripheral portion of the separator plate 17a, such that the toothed portion 18d is stopped by the anti-reverse rotation protrusion 17b.
The cosmetic container storing different types of materials configured as described above can store different types of cosmetic materials in the main container and the inner container such that the different types of cosmetic materials are not mixed while enabling the first type of cosmetic material in the main container and the second type of cosmetic material in the inner container to be selectively used.
To use the first type of cosmetic material in the main container 11, the body 17 is rotated and separated from the main container 11, and the touching portion 12b of the applicator 12 coupled to the outlet portion 15a of the inner container 15 is dipped into the first type of cosmetic material in the main container 11 to apply the first type of cosmetic material to the target using. Since the wiper 14 disposed on the upper end portion of the main container 11 is in close contact with the outer surface of the touching portion 12b of the applicator 12, the first type of cosmetic material is removed from the touching portion 12b of the applicator 12, except for the distal end of the touching portion 12b, while the applicator 12 is exiting the wiper 14. This can consequently prevent waste of the first type of cosmetic material.
In addition, to use the second type of cosmetic material in the inner container 15, the manipulating member 18 is rotated by holding the body 17 with a hand in a position in which the inner container 15 is separated from the main container 11. When the manipulating member 18 is rotated, the piston 16, including the adjustable screw portion 16b screw-coupled to the manipulation screw portion 18c of the manipulating member 18, is linearly moved in the direction of the inner container 15. Consequently, the piston body 16a of the piston 16 compresses the second type of cosmetic material stored in the storage portion 15b of the inner container 15, so that the compressed second type of cosmetic material is pushed toward the outlet portion 1a.
The second type of cosmetic material pushed toward the outlet portion 1a of the inner container 15 flows through the gap between the outlet portion 15a and the insertion portion 13a of the check valve 13 disposed in the outlet portion 15a, and then flows in the direction of the applicator 12 through the inner outlet opened in response to deformation of the closing diaphragm 13b of the check valve 13. The second type of cosmetic material having flown in the direction of the applicator 12 is dispensed through the hole of the applicator 12 to be used for makeup.
Since rotation of the manipulating member 18 causes the piston 16 to linearly move pitch by pitch, the displacement of the piston 16 can be controlled by the degree of rotation of the manipulating member 18. In addition, the second type of cosmetic material is dispended through the hole of the applicator 12 in response to movement of the piston 16, and the amount of the second type of cosmetic material dispensed is expressed as a product of the inner diameter of the storage portion 15b and the linear displacement of the piston body 16a. It is accordingly possible to precisely adjust the amount of the second type of cosmetic material dispensed by adjusting the degree of rotation of the manipulating member 18.
Although the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the present invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims. Accordingly, it should be understood that all such alterations and modifications, as well as all of their equivalents, fall within the scope of the present invention.
