Abstract

A flexible multifunctional neural probe having distal and proximal ends includes a flexible body, at least one electrode positioned near the distal end of the probe, at least one terminal positioned near the proximal end of the probe, wherein the body is constructed from at least one flexible layer, the at least one flexible layer comprising at least one electrical channel fluidly connected to the at least one electrode and the at least one terminal, and a quantity of conductive material positioned in the at least one electrical channel, electrically connecting the at least one electrode to the at least one terminal. A method of fabricating a multifunctional neural probe and a method of implanting a multifunctional neural probe are also described.
