Abstract
The utility model relates to the field of contactless payment means, and more particularly to contactless payment modules integrateable into wearable devices. A contactless payment means comprises, disposed on a dielectric substrate: a loop antenna formed by loops of an electrically conductive material; a microchip, the terminals of which are connected to the terminals of the loop antenna; and a capacitive load connected in parallel to the loop antenna. The loops of the loop antenna are arranged on the planar dielectric substrate such that, in plan view, a closed figure is formed consisting of two symmetrical parts, each of which is substantially arc-shaped. Said symmetrical parts are adjoined to each other such that an angled indentation is formed at one end of said closed figure, and an angled point is formed at the opposite end. The microchip is disposed substantially in the middle of the closed figure, and the dielectric substrate has a side surface which is substantially congruent with the closed figure. The utility model makes it possible to increase the ease of use of the contactless payment module, to extend the sphere of application thereof, and to render it less time-consuming to use.
Description
CONTACTLESS PAYMENT MODULE FOR WEARABLE DEVICE
The utility model relates to the field of contactless payment means, in particular, to contactless payment modules integrated into wearable devices.
Contactless payment modules are widely known, including an antenna located on a dielectric substrate, which are part of smart-card payment devices (see, for example, RU 2251742 C2, July 26, 2017). The disadvantage of such modules is the need to use a specific tool for transactions (cards), which is inconvenient for the user.
Also known is a contactless payment module, which includes a loop antenna formed by turns of conductive material, a microchip, the terminals of which are connected to the leads of the loop antenna, and a capacitor connected in parallel to the loop antenna, located on a dielectric substrate, which is part of a payment device made in the form of a wearable devices, namely rings (see, for example, RU 183111 Ш, 09/11/2018). This well-known contactless payment module is adopted as the closest analogue of the claimed contactless payment module.
The disadvantage of the closest analogue is that this contactless payment module is located on a dielectric substrate having a shape that allows you to place the payment tool on the user's finger. As a result, when making a payment, the user's hand must be clenched into a fist, which creates certain inconveniences and limitations in use. In addition, such a design of the contactless payment module requires additional time in the manufacture of rings of various sizes for users with different physical data and the need, as a result, the certification of each new product. Another disadvantage of the known contactless payment module is its limited use, due to the possibility of integration only into a specific wearable device (ring) and the impossibility, therefore, of integration into other wearable devices, including accessories.
п. The technical problem solved by the claimed utility model consists in creating a contactless payment module for a wearable device made in as a compact unit, structurally independent of the wearable device, which can be integrated into wearable devices of various shapes, sizes, etc.
The technical problem is solved, and the specified technical result is achieved in the contactless payment module, which includes a loop antenna formed by turns of conductive material, a microchip whose terminals are connected to the leads of the loop antenna, and a capacitor connected in parallel with the loop antenna located on the dielectric substrate. The turns of the loop antenna are located on said dielectric substrate with the formation in plan of a closed figure consisting of two symmetrical parts, each of which has a substantially arc shape. The said symmetrical parts are conjugated to each other with the formation on one side of the said closed figure of an angular depression, preferably with an angle of less than 90 degrees, preferably having a smooth curve, and on the opposite side, an angled protrusion, preferably with an angle of more than 90 degrees. The microchip is located essentially in the center of the figure, inside the turns of the loop antenna. The dielectric substrate has a lateral surface substantially congruent with said figure. The distance between the outermost turn of the loop antenna and the side surface of the dielectric substrate is preferably from 0.3 to 1 mm.
The described configuration of the claimed contactless payment module and the layout topology of its components make it possible to ensure its rigidity with sufficiently compact dimensions of the module, which makes the contactless payment module applicable to a wide variety of wearable devices. So, the contactless payment module can be used in a wearable device selected from the group including a ring, bracelet, pendant, key chain and other accessory.
The technical problem is solved, and the specified technical result is also achieved in private versions of the contactless payment module, according to one of which the distance between the two most remote from each other by points in the plane of symmetry of the said closed figure is preferably from 75 to 80% of the distance between two points of maximum curvature of each of the arcs.
In another particular embodiment of the contactless payment module, the thickness of the dielectric substrate is from 0.76 to 0.85 mm.
In yet another particular embodiment of the contactless payment module, the antenna turns are formed of wire. The thickness of the antenna turns is preferably from 0.05 to 0.15 mm.
Next, the utility model is described in more detail with reference to the figures.
In FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of the claimed contactless payment module in plan.
In FIG. 2 is a schematic representation of the claimed contactless payment module in a preferred embodiment, in isometry.
4. The contactless payment module shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 includes a loop antenna 1 formed by turns (e.g., wires) of conductive material (e.g., copper), a microchip 2, the terminals of which are connected to the terminals of the loop antenna 1, and a capacitive load (capacitor) 3 connected in parallel to the loop antenna 2, located on a flat dielectric (e.g. plastic) substrate 4.
The turns of the frame antenna 1 are located on a flat dielectric substrate 4 with the formation in plan of a closed figure consisting of two symmetrical parts 1a and lb, each of which has a substantially arc shape. The said symmetrical parts 1a and lb are conjugated with each other with the formation on one side of the said closed figure of an angular depression, preferably having a smooth rounding, preferably with an angle less than 90 degrees, and on the opposite side, an angled protrusion, preferably with an angle greater than 90 degrees. The distance between two points as far as possible from each other in the plane of symmetry of the figure may, but not necessarily, be 75 to 80% of the distance between two points of maximum curvature of each of the arcs.
The shape of the said closed figure can be a stylized image of the heart and in the Cartesian coordinate system can be described, for example, by the following equation: The dielectric substrate 4 has a side surface substantially congruent with said closed figure. The distance between the outermost turn of the loop antenna 1 and the side surface of the dielectric substrate 4 is preferably from 0.3 to 1 mm. A larger value of this distance can lead to an unreasonable increase in the total size of the contactless payment module, and a smaller one - to the possible damage to the external turns of the frame antenna 1 when integrating the contactless payment module into a wearable device.
Compared with a traditional loop antenna having a circular, square or rectangle shape, the loop antenna 1 of the described shape with the corresponding shape of the substrate 4 provides a more compact implementation of the claimed contactless payment module while maintaining its sufficient rigidity and ease of manufacture. This is achieved as a result of the arrangement of the turns of the frame antenna 1 and the implementation of the substrate 4 in the form of a symmetrical (i.e., evenly perceiving possible loads) closed figure having a smaller but nevertheless sufficient surface area and smooth bends to transmit the radio frequency signal without distortion determined by the shape of the figure and not requiring, therefore, additional technological methods for their formation, providing, in addition, an additional increase in the module's resistance to mechanical them loads.
The microchip 2 is located essentially in the center of the figure, i.e. inside the turns of the loop antenna 1, which also provides the contactless payment module compactness and the required rigidity and, therefore, versatility when integrated into various wearable devices.
It is preferable to perform the claimed contactless payment module having an external protective shell 5 (see Fig. 2), in which a loop antenna 1, a microchip 2 and a capacitive load 3 are provided, suitably provided by any prior art, including the initial placement of these module components in a fragment dielectric plate.
The claimed contactless payment module is used in the traditional way for funds for this purpose. When integrating a contactless payment module into a wearable device, for example, a ring, the wearable device is brought to the contactless payment terminal and a transaction (payment) is carried out. At if necessary, the terminal may additionally request information allowing identification of the owner of the wearable device, in particular, the pin code. Then the user enters the requested information, and if approved, the transaction is carried out.
The claimed contactless payment module, due to its compact and rigid configuration, can be easily integrated into any suitable wearable device, in particular, in an accessory, including, but not limited to, a ring, bracelet, pendant, keychain. The location of the turns of the loop antenna on a flat surface provides convenient use of the module as part of the payment instrument - a wearable device. It is possible to carry out a contactless payment module on a separate production line, which minimizes the time spent on manufacturing both the contactless payment module itself and the wearable device, providing the possibility of parallel technological operations, and also allows testing and subsequent certification of the contactless payment module, as separately from the final product, and in its composition.
