Abstract
The invention relates to a special plate-threaded bar forming part of a system for fastening rubber liners in ball mills for mineral processing. The plate-threaded bar assembly is formed by two pieces: a steel plate with a central threaded perforation, and a threaded bar with a perforation at one end. In operation, the threaded bar is screwed to the plate, the two elements being joined together, forming a fastening system, once in position to install a nut and a washer and tighten. The fastening system secures the liners to the mill shell when the nut is installed at the other end and tightened. When it is desired to release the fastening system (for liner replacement), a split pin is inserted into the hole of the threaded bar. The nut is unscrewed using a pneumatic wrench with a corresponding hexagonal socket, and when the nut makes contact with the pin, it forces the threaded bar to unscrew from the plate.
