首先指出的是,终端的能力可以分为无线能力和核心网能力两种。对于无线能力,终端可根据网络的请求上报终端的无线能力。对于核心网能力,终端可在注册时上报终端的网络能力。
终端可以支持多个频带(Band)和频率(frequency)。随着载波聚合(Carrier Aggregation,CA)和双连接(Dual Connectivity,DC)等技术的引入,需要排列组合各种可能的频带组合,而且各个终端厂家支持的频带组合可能还各不相同,造成无线能力特别庞大。另外,随着网络的演进,越来越多的特性被引入网络,不同的特性往往需要不同的无线能力和网络能力。对于相关的网络特性,终端需要将是否支持的信息告知网络。
一般来说,每个出厂的终端都有设备标识信息,比如国际移动设备识别码(International Mobile Equipment Identity,IMEI)。IMEI中可包含类型分配码(Type Allocation Code,TAC),该TAC通常由8位数字组成(早期是6位),是区分终端品牌和型号的编码,该TAC由GSMA及其授权机构分配。其中该TAC的前两位又称为分配机构标识(Reporting Body Identifier),是授权IMEI分配机构的代码,如01为美国CTIA,35为英国BABT,86为中国TAF。通过TAC,可以唯一标识同一终端型号。而同一终端型号的终端能力往往是相同的。
IMEI中还可以包含软件版本号(Software Version Number,SVN),该SVN可以区分同型号终端出厂时使用的不同软件版本。SVN仅在部分品牌的部分机型中存在。不同SVN可以对应不同的终端能力。
为了减少终端能力上报带来的开销,可为终端设置能够指示终端能力的标识信息。一种终端能力信令优化的方法是终端仅向网络上报指示终端能力的标识信息。网络通过指示终端能力的标识信息可映射得到终端能力。终端能力标识信息可以是指示终端能力的能力标识信息。
本公开实施例中,终端能力的标识信息(可简称为终端能力标识信息)可以用于识别终端能力。终端能力标识信息与终端能力信息之间存在映射的关系,通过终端能力标识信息可以映射出终端能力。终端能力标识信息可以映射出一组终端能力或完整的终端能力。由于终端能力标识信息大小比终端能力小,可以达到节省能力信令优化的效果。
可选的,一个终端可以具有一个或多个终端能力标识信息。
本公开实施例中,服务网络是为终端提供接入的网络,可以是网络运营主体(比如运营商operator)的网络或者是专用网络,可以是公众通信网络也可以是私有通信网络。可选的,服务网络的标识可以是公共陆地移动网络(Public Land Mobile Network,PLMN)或其他(比如私有通信网络自己配置的标识)。
本公开实施例中,网络类型可以包括但不限于以下至少一项:通信的网络类型、无线接入技术的类型、无线接入网的类型、核心网的类型和网络年代信息。

为了减少能力上报带来的开销,为终端设置能够指示终端能力的信息。一种终端能力信令优化的方法是终端仅向网络上报指示终端能力的信息。网络通过指示终端能力的标识信息映射得到终端的能力。
终端的能力可能会发生更新。更新的场景如下
场景一:动态能力更新。
比如是由于终端过热等原因需要频繁通知网络终端的倾向。
比如由于需要在现网测试导致服务或特性需要动态开关终端的能力。
场景二:无线接入技术类型对应的能力的开关。比如:
1)终端开始注册到EPS,后续又注册到了5GS,则终端双注册到EPS和5GS。为了避免NG RAN重定向终端到EUTRAN。终端可以在NG RAN下关闭EUTRA的能力。为了避免EUTRAN将终端重定向到NG RAN。终端可以在EUTRAN下关闭NR的能力。
2)后续,终端需要在5GS下发起紧急业务时,如果EUTRA能力关闭时,终端可以重新打开EUTRA的能力。
3)当终端是以语音为先(voice centric)时,如果5GS不支持语音时(如voice over PS session不支持),终端会重选到其他网络,并关闭5GS能力,包括NR的能力。当终端是以数据为先(data centric)时,如果5GS不支持语音时(如voice over PS session不支持),终端可以保持5GS能力打开,继续留在5GS。
本公开实施实施例中,
对于场景一,动态更新的能力,其更新的频率比较高,为频繁变更的能 力去分配能力标识是不现实的,而可以动态更新的能力是有限的,所以可以在终端能力差异信息(delta)中定义。即delta中可以包含动态更新的能力,终端能力标识映射的能力中不包含动态更新的能力或者包含动态更新能力的默认值。
对于场景二,也可以通过delta指示开关的能力。Delta指示的能力可以覆盖终端能力标识映射能力中的对应能力。比如1)终端能力标识映射的RAT type的能力处于打开状态而delta中指示所述RAT type的能力是关闭,则所述RAT Type的能力处于关闭;2)终端能力标识映射的RAT type的能力处于关闭状态而delta中指示所述RAT type的能力是打开,则所述RAT Type的能力处于打开状态;3)当delta中不支持RAT type的能力时,则终端能力标识映射的RAT type能力就是当前UE的所述RAT type的能力。

参见图2,图2是本公开实施例提供的一种能力指示方法的流程图。本实施例的能力指示方法可以应用于第一通信设备。其中,第一通信设备可以包括但不限于以下至少一项:终端、具有中继功能的终端和具有终端能力的中继,如图2所示,包括以下步骤:
步骤201、发送第一信息,其中,所述第一信息包括:终端能力标识信息、终端能力差异信息、网络对应的终端能力信息、网络类型对应的终端能力、网络运营实体对应的终端能力和无线接入技术对应的终端能力信息中的至少一项。
一种实施方式中,上述发送第一信息可以是向以下至少一项发送:RAN网元、CN网元、AMF、MME、gNB、eNB。例如,第一通信设备为终端时,可向CN网元或RAN网元发送第一信息。例如,第一通信设备为RAN网元时,可向CN网元或其他RAN网元发送第一信息。例如,第一通信设备为CN网元时,可从向其他CN网元或RAN网元发送第一信息。

一种实施方式中,终端能力差异信息可以是与终端能力标识映射的终端能力存在差异的终端能力。不难理解,通过将终端能力标识映射的终端能力和终端能力差异信息就可以推导出当前的终端能力。另一种实施方式中,终端能力差异信息可以是与终端的终端能力与网络中保存的终端能力存在差异的终端能力。不难理解,通过将网络保存的终端能力和终端能力差异信息就可以推导出当前的终端能力。能力差异信息也可以称为能力变量信息。
一种实施方式中,上述网络对应的终端能力信息可以终端在对应网络下的终端能力信息。不难理解,终端在不同的网络下的终端能力可以不同。所述网络可以是一个或多个网络。所述网络可以是网络运营主体运营的所有网络、无线接入网、核心网、通信网络。
一种实施方式中,上述无线接入技术对应的终端能力信息可以终端在对 应无线接入技术下的终端能力信息。不难理解,终端在不同的无线接入技术下的终端能力可以不同。

另一种实施方式中,可以通过网络信息和终端能力的操作信息指示网络对应的终端能力信息。比如,当终端的操作信息包含打开的取值且网络信息包含第一网络的网络信息时,可以表示第一网络对应的终端能力打开。

一种实施方式中,能力信令优化是否支持的信息指示支持可以是指以下至少一项:终端具有能力信令优化能力、网络具有能力信令优化能力、终端 和网络都具有能力信令优化能力。例如:第一通信设备为终端。终端可以从CN网元(比如注册过程中)或RAN网元(比如无线资源控制(Radio Resource Control,RRC)过程、系统消息广播)中获得能力信令优化是否支持的信息。
需要说明的是,本公开实施例中介绍的多种可选的实施方式,彼此可以相互结合实现,也可以单独实现,对此本公开实施例不作限定。
随着网络的发展,终端支持的无线接入技术类型会越来越多。不同的网络运营主体(比如运营商operator)也会运营多种无线接入技术的网络。在一些场景下,终端会关闭或重新打开不同的无线接入技术类型的能力。如果对不同的无线接入结束类型的排列组合都要分配映射终端能力标识。则需要较多的终端能力标识。比如终端对一个网络运营主体(比如运营商operator)的4种无线接入技术(GERAN,UTRA,EUTRA,NR)本来只需要配置1个能力标识。但为了支持开关个别无线接入技术,则需要至少15个能力标识(GERAN,UTRA,EUTRA,NR,GERAN+UTRA,GERAN+EUTRA,GERAN+NR,UTRA+EUTRA,UTRA+NR,EUTRA+NR,GERAN+UTRA+EUTRA,GERAN+UTRA+NR,GERAN+EUTRA+NR,UTRA+EUTRA+NR,GERAN+UTRA+EUTRA+NR)。而且,能力标识更新需要上报新的能力标识。当网络侧没有新的能力标识映射的终端能力时还要向终端获取当前的终端能力,无疑增加了较多的信令开销。
在本公开实施例中,通过指示上述第一信息(终端能力差异信息、网络对应的终端能力信息和无线接入技术对应的终端能力信息中的至少一项),网络可以根据第一信息和终端能力标识映射的终端能力推导出当前终端的能力,而不需要重新向终端获取能力。一方面支持不同无线接入技术能力的开关,另一方面减少能力标识的开销和终端能力上报的信令开销。不难理解,对某个无线接入技术的能力关闭,网络不需要向终端获取的能力。对某个无线接入技术的能力关闭再打开,由于保存的能力标识映射的终端能力已经包含该无线接入技术的能力,网络也不需要向终端获取终端能力。
另一方面,个别终端的能力可能会发生动态更新,频繁的动态更新不可能分配完整的终端能力标识。通过本公开实施例,还可以支持动态能力变更,一方面避免频繁地变更终端能力标识信息。另一方面可以实现由于新的能力 标识无映射的终端能力时获取终端能力的过程,可以节省能力上报信令。
参见图3,图3是本公开实施例提供的另一种能力指示方法的流程图。本实施例的能力指示方法可以应用于第二通信设备,第二通信设备可以包括但不限于以下至少一项:RAN网元、CN网元、AMF,MME,gNB,eNB,如图3所示,包括以下步骤:

一种实施方式中,上述获取第一信息可以是从以下至少一项获取:终端、具有中继功能的终端、具有终端能力的中继、RAN网元、CN网元、AMF、MME、gNB、eNB。例如,第二通信设备为CN网元时,可从其他CN网元、RAN网元或终端接收第一信息。当CN网元获取第一信息时,可以向RAN网元和/或其他CN网元发送所述第一信息。例如,第二通信设备为RAN网元时,可从CN网元、其他RAN网元或终端接收第一信息。当RAN网元获取第一信息时,可以向CN网元和/或其他RAN网元发送所述第一信息。

另一方面,个别终端的能力可能会发生动态更新,频繁的动态更新不可能分配完整的终端能力标识。通过本公开实施例,还可以支持动态能力变更,一方面避免频繁地变更终端能力标识信息。另一方面可以实现由于新的能力标识无映射的终端能力时获取终端能力的过程,可以节省能力上报信令。

需要说明的是,本公开实施例中介绍的多种可选的实施方式,彼此可以相互结合实现,也可以单独实现,对此本公开实施例不作限定。
在本公开实施例中,通过指示上述第一信息(终端能力差异信息、网络对应的终端能力信息和无线接入技术对应的终端能力信息中的至少一项),网络可以根据第一信息和终端能力标识映射的终端能力推导出当前终端的能力,而不需要重新向终端获取能力。一方面支持不同无线接入技术能力的开关,另一方面减少能力标识的开销和终端能力上报的信令开销。不难理解,对某个无线接入技术的能力关闭,网络不需要向终端获取的能力。对某个无线接入技术的能力关闭再打开,由于保存的能力标识映射的终端能力已经包含该 无线接入技术的能力,网络也不需要向终端获取终端能力。
另一方面,个别终端的能力可能会发生动态更新,频繁的动态更新不可能分配完整的终端能力标识。通过本公开实施例,还可以支持动态能力变更,一方面避免频繁地变更终端能力标识信息。另一方面可以实现由于新的能力标识无映射的终端能力时获取终端能力的过程,可以节省能力上报信令。
