A SYSTEM FOR ENABLING CUSTOMERS TO DO SHOPPING IN PHYSICAL STORES VIA THEIR MOBILE DEVICES
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a system which enables retail store customers to scan barcodes of products they buy via a mobile application running on their own mobile devices inside a physical store and add them to their shopping carts, present campaigns to customers while they are in a store, to make payment without having to scan all products at cashier and to ensure accuracy of shopping upon the control of products in the shopping cart is performed by store staff in accordance with the trust score determined as specific to customer at cashier.
Background of the Invention
Today, customers doing shopping at retail stores add products that they want to purchase from the store at first and all products are scanned at the payment step at cashier. However, lines occur at cashiers particularly at busy stores and customers may have to wait at cashiers for long periods of time in this practice.
In the state of the art, there are solutions for preventing customers from waiting lines at cashiers at retail stores. However, the fact that cost of hardware and software of current solutions are high plays a restrictive role in many store applications.
In current applications, there are solutions which enable customers to scan barcodes of products by means of mobile devices -that enable them to do shopping by themselves and are provided to customers upon arrival at the store- and to complete the shopping without waiting at the cashier. However, the fact that the practice has to be carried out as specific to store and mobile device must be present at stores increase investment cost. Due to these reasons, there is need for a system which enables customers to do shopping by themselves comfortably by inclusion of mobile devices such as smart phones -that are commonly used by customers today- to the shopping process
The Australian patent document no. AU2017100350, an application in the state of the art, discloses a method which enable retail store customers to scan barcodes of products over a mobile application included in their smart devices at stores, to add the products to their shopping carts and to perform control transaction by means of automated exit gates. The United States patent document no. US2009094100, an application in the state of the art, discloses a system which enables store customers to add products to their shopping carts over mobile application and to make online payment.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a system which enables customers to add products to their shopping carts by scanning the product code via an application running on their mobile devices at physical stores and ensures that it is not necessary anymore to rescan the product code at cashier.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a system which enables to present campaign/offer as specific to customer during shopping. Another objective of the present invention is to realize a system which enables customers to monitor how much they will pay and the discounts acquired before the payment step.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a system which decides on whether to control the products at cashiers or not in accordance with the trust score created by using the previous shopping information of customers who have completed the shopping as well.
