Description

A BARREL TILTING MECHANISM
5
FIELD OF DISCLOSURE
The invention relates to a barrel tilting mechanism that is ergonomic, low in manufacturing and assembly cost, which enables the barrel to tilt on the right hand in or left hand direction in which the user uses the gun for loading, unloading and cleaning of guns, rifles, launchers and similar weapons
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
15
In order to load, unload and clean the guns, rifles, launchers and similar weapons used today, there are mechanisms in which the barrel can be tilted in the right hand or left hand direction where the user uses the weapon. These mechanisms, for example, are difficult to adjust to be tilted to the right if they are set to tilt to the left, 20 and this adjustment takes long time.
If the mechanisms used to tilt(open) the barrels of such weapons, for example, are arranged to open to the right, this setting can be adjusted to be opened to the left by means of an apparatus, or by removing the parts related to the tilting direction 25 and reassembling them with a different orientation which enables the barrel to tilt to the left side.
It is very difficult to change the barrel opening direction of weapons used by armed forces such as the military, police, security forces in field conditions. The fact that so there is a possibility of close combat at any moment makes it much more difficult to adjust the barrel opening direction. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION!
The invention removes the disadvantages described above.
5 When the gun is ready to use, first, the barrel tilting (opening) mechanism is installed to enable the barrel to open to the right or to the left depending on which hand the user primarily uses. After the barrel tilting direction is set, when it is desired to unload and load ammunition or to clean the barrel, the barrel tilts to right or left when the barrel lock latch is pressed. After loading or unloading or cleaning the in barrel, the user is able to dose the barrel to fireable position by pushing the barrel in the direction opposite to the direction of tilting.
The barrel tilting mechanism developed in the invention can be adjusted very easily to change the barrel opening direction from left to right or from right to left.
15
There is no need for an apparatus for adjusting the barrel tilting mechanism developed in the invention such that the barrel will be tilted from right to left or from left to right.
20 In order to adjust the barrel tilting mechanism developed in the invention from right to left or from left to right, it is not necessary to remove a screw, displace the barrel and secure the barrel with a screw in a new position.
The barrel tilting mechanism developed in the invention is ergonomic.
25
The barrel tilting mechanism developed in the invention is easy to manufacture and assemble, the assembly time is short.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The invention is a barrel tilting mechanism comprised of,
15
a barrel (1 ) fitted in a barrel frame (3), a barrel ring (2) which has been passed over the barrel (1 ) so that the barrel ring (2) is inside the barrel frame (3),
20
a barrel ring spring seat (2.1 ), located on the barrel ring (2), a compression spring (6) positioned in the barrel spring seat (2.1 ),
25 barrel ring spring thrust edges (2.2) acting on the barrel ring (2) by the drive of the compression spring (6), forming the boundaries at which the compression spring (6) is positioned in the barrel ring spring seat (2.1 ), a position catch (5) positioned horizontally at the top of the barrel frame
30 (3),
Two position catch barrel push edges (5.1 ) on the rear side of the position catch (5),
35 two position catch locking grooves (5.2) located in the inner hole of the position catch (5), - a position catch lock (7) located in the upper front of the position catch
(5),
- a position catch locking block (7.1 ) located on the rear side of the
position catch lock (7),
- a position catch locking spring (8) located in the position catch lock (7),
- Top picatinny rail (4) positioned at the top of the barrel (1 ) and
supporting the barrel tilting system from the upper part,
- Top picatinny rail centering hole (4.1 ) that provides axial centering
placed on the top picatinny rail (4),
- Bottom picatinny rail (9) positioned at the bottom of the barrel (1 ) and supporting the barrel tilting system from the lower part,
Figure imgf000007_0001
Bottom picatinny rail centering hole (9.1 ) that provides axial centering placed on the bottom picatinny rail (9).
On the gun (A), where the barrel (1 ) is seated in the fireable position the barrel tilting mechanism is installed to open in the right or left direction depending on which hand the user uses. When the barrel tilting mechanism is installed, when the gun (A) is intended to be unloaded or loaded with ammunition or to clean the barrel, the barrel tilting mechanism, which is set to be tilted to the right or left, is tilted to the right or left by pressing the barrel lock latch (10). The user can fire the gun (A) after pushing the barrel (1 ) in the opposite direction to the direction of opening after loading or unloading or cleaning the barrel.
Top picatinny rail centering hole (4.1 ) is located on top picatinny rail (4).
Bottom picatinny rail centering hole (9 1 ) is located on bottom picatinny rail.
The barrel ring (2) and the barrel frame (3) are connected with the locking pin (B) on the same axis by the bottom picatinny rail centering hole (4.1 ) and the bottom picatinny rail centering hole (9.1 ) The barrel tilting mechanism is installed as follows:
The user rotates the position catch (5) which is positioned on the frame (3) in whichever direction (right or left) the opening of the barrel (1 ) is desired. When the position catch (5) is turned in the desired direction, the position catch tightens the compression spring (6) in the axis in which the barrel push edge (5.1 ) rotates. The rotating movement continues until the position catch locking block (7.1 ) on the position catch lock (7) enters the position catch locking groove (5.2) and the mechanism is installed when it enters.
When the gun (A) is intended to be unloaded or loaded with ammunition or to be cleaned, the barrel tilting mechanism, which is set to be tilted (opened) to the right or to the left, is opened by pressing the barrel lock latch (10). When the barrel lock latch (10) Is pressed the compressed compression spring (6) pushes the barrel ring spring thrust edges (2.2) which rotates the barrel ring (2) on the axis of rotation axis of the position catch (5) and the barrel (1 ) is tilted (opened) in the driven direction.
After the barrel is opened, the user can load/unload ammunition or clean the gun (A). After the user finishes this operation or operations, the barrel lock latch (10) automatically locks the system and makes the gun (A) ready for firing when the barrel (1 ) is pushed in the opposite direction to the direction in which it is opened.
The barrel (1 ) Is fitted in a barrel ring (2) which is firmly engaged and enables the barrel (1 ) to move in the same direction during axial movement.
The locking pin (B) which passes through the bottom picatinny rail centering hole (9.1 ) secures the bottom picatinny rail (9), the barrel frame (3) and the barrel ring (2) to the bottom of the barrel (1 ). The locking pin (B) which passes through the top picatinny rail centering hole (4.1 ) secures the top picatinny rail (4), the barrel frame (3) and the barrel ring (2) to the top of the barrel (1 ). There is a barrel frame (3) which is axially fixed by the top picatinny rail (4) and the bottom picatinny rail (9), which holds the position catch (5) in the upper part and which has a barrel ring (2) in the interior.
The position catch barrel push edges (5.1 ) located on the position catch (5) compresses the compression spring (6) by pushing, which stores energy, and consumes this energy to rotate the barrel ring (2) in the driven direction.
The position catch lock (7), which is responsible for locking and/or unlocking the mechanism by means of the position catch locking block (7.1 ), can be moved forward by the user, can be pushed backwards after the forward movement by means of the position catch locking spring (8).
