Definitions
- Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to the field of wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a signal transmission method and a communication device.
- the base station sends the frequency domain location of the sidelink service to the terminal through a system information block (SIB) message or a pre-configuration by the manufacturer.
- SIB system information block
- the terminal is based on This configuration determines how to send and receive sidelink synchronization signals and / or frequency domain positions of broadcast channels on different carriers.
- the frequency domain position of the Sidelink synchronization signal is fixed at 6 resource blocks (Resource Blocks, RB for short) in the center of the carrier.
- the terminal When the terminal is in the initial synchronization phase or there is no prior information of the carrier, the terminal may not be able to determine the position of the synchronization signal. At this time, the terminal needs to search for synchronization signals one by one at 100 kHz intervals.
- New Radio defines a synchronization grid for 0-100GHz.
- the frequency position of a synchronization signal block (SS block, referred to as SSB, also referred to as SS / PBCH block, synchronization signal / physical broadcast signal block) on the working frequency band is SSREF, corresponding to the global synchronization grid number GSCN).
- the base station can send sync signal blocks on the sync grid.
- the position of the synchronization grid is not fixed to the center of the carrier where the synchronization grid is located, so the base station can configure the carrier more flexibly and send a synchronization signal block.
- NR introduces a large bandwidth.
- the bandwidth can reach 400MHz or even 1GHz.
- NR may allow base stations and manufacturers to configure Sidelink carriers and synchronization signals more flexibly in the frequency domain, so the location of synchronization signals will no longer be fixed at the center of the carrier.
- Due to the large bandwidth supported by NR if you continue to search for synchronization signals one by one at 100 kHz intervals, it will seriously increase the time and power consumption of the terminal for synchronization.

Abstract
