Abstract

A video processing method, comprising: maintaining a set of tables, wherein each table includes motion candidates and each motion candidate is associated with corresponding motion information; performing a conversion between a first video block and a bitstream representation of a video including the first video block; and updating one or multiple tables by selectively performing pruning with existing motion candidates in the one or multiple tables based on an encoding/decoding mode of the first video block. Another video processing method, comprising: maintaining a set of tables, wherein each table includes motion candidates and each motion candidate is associated with corresponding motion information; performing a conversion between a first video block and a bitstream representation of a video including the first video block; and updating one or multiple tables to include motion information from temporal neighbor block(s) of the first video block as a new motion candidate.
