Abstract

La présente invention concerne une cellule de batterie à ion de fer (ion Fe) rechargeable comprenant une anode, une cathode et un électrolyte intercalé entre l'anode et la cathode, et son utilisation. L'électrolyte même peut comprendre les ions Fe, et/ou peut obtenir les ions Fe de l'anode ou de la cathode. Un ion Fe fait référence à un élément Fe contenant un ion. La cathode est de préférence faite de matériaux contenant des éléments Fe. L'électrolyte aqueux et l'électrolyte organique peuvent être utilisés comme électrolyte pour la fabrication de batteries à ion Fe. Afin d'améliorer encore les performances de la batterie à ion Fe, un liquide ionique peut être utilisé comme électrolyte, l'électrolyte liquide ionique transportant des ions Fe entre ladite anode et ladite cathode.
