Definitions
- the present invention is a portable, disposable toilet seat protector which provides protection to the user when using a potentially unhealthy and contaminated toilet seat, allowing him to avoid direct contact with the toilet seat, and preventing splashes of contaminated residual water in the toilet may hit your body.
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention may be used in children's or adult toilets.
- the present invention has application as a hygiene product.
- toilet seat protectors users have the comfort of knowing that they are not in contact with a surface previously used by a stranger and any diseases that may have been transferred to the toilet seat.
- Toilet seat cover protectors are generally provided in a folded configuration and, when deployed, approximate the shape of the toilet seat. Such toilet seat protectors generally either do not have at all (many do not), or have a region in the center of the cover that is partially perforated. When the partially punctured region is separated from the toilet seat cover protectors by a user, an opening is formed that approximately aligns with the opening in the toilet seat. This partially perforated region usually remains attached to the toilet seat in a posterior region.
- conventional toilet seat protectors Users of conventional toilet seat protectors often find that they do not adequately serve their intended purpose. For example, conventional toilet seat protectors often slide when placed on a toilet seat. In addition, conventional toilet seat protectors generally do not fully or even substantially cover the toilet seat to properly prevent contact between the user and the toilet seat. In addition, the partially perforated region, if any (perforated) (which usually remains attached to the toilet seat cover) often gets wet from the water inside the toilet, because it usually hangs from the toilet itself. This may cause the toilet seat protector to be pulled down into the toilet due to the added weight before the user realizes this has happened (as they are extremely thin and light), causing the user to sit on the toilet seat unprotected. In addition, conventional toilet seat protectors often do not adequately protect liquid from infiltration through the cover when placed on a toilet seat due to the conventional material comprising such toilet seat protectors.
- toilet seat protection products Although there are some toilet seat protection products, they are not compact enough in size, leveling, or both to be carried in a bag. In most, there is a mechanical system that has a small motor and unrolls a plastic sleeve that surrounds the toilet top. Due to lack of convenience, whether due to lack of portability, availability or compactness, these toilet seat protectors are often not used.
- toilet seat protectors that provide no protection from the back of a toilet (for example, US Patent No. 2,825,070) or do not cover the entire top of a toilet seat, but follow the exact form (ie U or C) of a standard toilet seat protector (eg US Pat. No. 5,005,223).
- Others do not yet provide protection from inside or outside the front of a toilet or do not provide a seat cover with a larger seating area that can be compact enough to be easily carried in a small portable package (eg US 2,825,070 and 5,005,223).
- US2012 / 0246811 discloses a portable disposable toilet protector, but which is held to the outside of the toilet seat by a rubber band to prevent it from falling, (which cannot function properly due to the wide variability of toilet shapes and dimensions, while ours which is adhesive fits any type or shape).
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention is a waterproof protective coating for as long as necessary. It is sufficient for the user to use, which is placed on the toilet seat before use.
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention when opened, has a rectangular external shape (45cm Width (3) x 52cm Length (1)), and an internal toilet top shape with an inner oval cutout of about 18cm x 23 cm, but wider, hanging a few inches outside and inside the toilet.
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention comprises two or more layers.
- the first layer is the layer that is in contact with the toilet seat and has an adhesive coating that allows the protector to adhere to the seat, so that it adheres to the seat and remains fixed while in use, avoiding slipping.
- the adhesive coating is a glue (5). After use it detaches from the seat and is easily removed.
- the toilet guard of the present invention comprises 3 layers:
- This film will be used between 20 and 200 microns thick (B); and
- the 3 layers are joined together by being sprayed with water-soluble glue.
- the central part of the protector is secured / hung to the rest of the protector to cover the entire interior of the toilet and to prevent contact of the genitals with the toilet, and is hung within the toilet itself.
- At the back of the protector is a 14 cm (4) wide strip that starts from the edge of the back of the opening (to which it is glued (6)), and overlaps the jagged front (7), so that the two overlapping parts inside the toilet, covering the entire interior of the toilet including wastewater, thus preventing any possibility of splashing. That is, the user when sitting on the toilet is fully protected and safe from any contact, either with the toilet or its interior.
- This 14 cm strip is made of the same material as the intermediate layer (B), preferably PVA.
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention is a single use disposable, very small when folded (between 8 to 10 x 10 to 12 cm) weighing about 30 to 40 grams and can be carried in any pocket, in the suitcase, in the car, in a backpack.
- the toilet seat protector of the present invention is made of biodegradable material.
- the raw materials to be used to manufacture the innovative product are biodegradable as paper and PVA are used.
- the lower layer and the upper layer of the protector which will be in contact with the user are preferably made of paper, so we are still in the presence of natural materials to ensure maximum tolerance even on sensitive skin. Production method
- the toilet protector production process of the present invention comprises the following steps:
- the unit is designed to unwind the material reels at low and constant tension with adjustable values.
- Each unit consists of two coil support spindles, an automatic splicer and a material reserve.
- Automatic Raw Material Alignment Control including a positioning sensor and equipped with low inertia transfer rollers.
- the System consisting of 2 continuous coating heads for applying glue to the 3 product layers.
- the system is sized to apply a maximum amount of glue to each layer.
- the glue is spray-sprayed in the amount of about 7 to 15 gr / m2.
- This unit allows the different layers to be fixed together.
- pre-cuts are made in the middle area of the disposable toilet protectors according to the shape of the product.
- the protector is fed into the longitudinal folding station at a level lower than the product axis.
- the section is applied to the Omega or Double Z fold, which allows for a larger compact product and greater uniformity. Outside this station, a specific pneumatic unit presses the product.
- the final cutting unit is positioned between the horizontal bending system and the feed in the transverse folding unit.
- the product is completed folded in 3 folds.
- the final sealing and cutting unit creates the bags with the products inside.
- the pressure applied to the rolling rolls is 18kg / cm, 900 was the maximum force of the rollers.
- the voltage is 150 N.
- the dissolution time of the toilet protector of the present invention after use is between 9 and 30 minutes.
- Figure 1 shows a top view of the protector indicating the maximum dimensions, where (1) corresponds to 52 cm, (2) and (3) correspond to 45 cm and (4) corresponds to 14 cm.
- FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the 3 layers that make up the toilet protector of the present invention in which (A) is the upper layer that contacts with the user, (B) is the middle layer and (C) is the bottom layer that contacts the toilet seat.
- Figure 3 shows a top view of the unpacked protector where (5) represents a glue that glues the protector to the seat and (6) represents a glue that joins the 14 cm strip to the back of the protector.
- Figure 4 is a top view of a toilet with the guard showing the 14 cm strip (4), which overlaps the oval cut-out (7), which is gripped to the front (area of the which lines the entire interior of the toilet, passing over said oval cut-out (7).
- Figure 5 shows an image of the packaged toilet guard being a top and a side view.
