Description
A SMART BAG
Subject and Technical Field of Invention The present invention relates to a bag having a charging unit and conductive textile, wherein technological features for taking safety measures against theft and for facilitating the finding of a lost bag are combined with aesthetic features.
Prior Art Nowadays, personal belongings or important documents are typically carried along with or transported using various bags. These bags are generally designed to provide a physical protection for the items they carry. This protection, however, cannot provide solutions for safety issues such as theft or loss.
Together with technological developments, there have been attempts to avoid such safety problems by integrating some technological units into the bags for ensuring the safe delivery of items carried therewith. In this context, tracking systems used for various purposes have been adapted to bags such that the delivery of bags to target points can be controlled. The same tracking systems provide the finding or location of stolen or lost bags.
Together with the developments in electronics and computer sciences in recent years, the researchers have put substantial efforts to produce such kind of products to meet various needs in various application fields. Textile products fulfilling different functions using smart materials have started to gain importance in the industrial area and daily life. Conductive yarns produced using conducting materials inside were used for heating and protection purposes at the beginning, but then they have also been used in providing some controls such as sensors, transmitters, power transfer, etc.. They may be exemplified with clothings providing warning against environmental hazards, clothings equipped with integrated mobile phones, clothings which can be tracked by means of the global positioning system, etc..
In the Korean patent KR20160076379 is described a bag, which can be unlocked only by its owner by means of fingerprint recognition, but when it is forcibly opened, gives an audible warning and generates vibration for discouraging the theft of the bag.
In the Chinese patent CN 105559298 is described a double-layered bag or suitcase, used with a microprocessor-controlled lock mechanism. The microprocessor subjects the one to open the lock to face recognition, voice recognition and fingerprint recognition, and unlocks the lock when all criteria are fulfilled, and detects the geographical position in which it is unlocked by means of GPS and sends the geographical location data to a predetermined point by means of GSM.
In the U.S. patent US2017346307 is described a bag having a set of power sources integral to the bag for charging electronic devices and a display monitoring data received from the set of electronic devices.
As can be seen in the patents referred to above, there are some bags in the prior art, which are suitable to take safety measures in various forms and which meet the energy needs of electronic devices.
Technical Problems the Present Invention Aims to Solve
With the smart bag according to the present invention, it is aimed to protect bags and suitcases against theft, wherein the bags and suitcases are tracked by means of GPS, as a geographical positioning system, or Bluetooth, as a wireless technology, and are provided with a fingerprint recognition lock.
An advantage of the smart bag according to the present invention is that no extra devices are required to trace the bag, since it comprises a system which can be controlled by means of mobile phone applications such that it can be continuously tracked. In case the user of the portable bag is a child, it may be possible for the respective parents to control the location of their child or children.
Another advantage of the smart bag according to the present invention is that the theft issue can be avoided by means of audible and visible warnings on the respective mobile phone and on the bag itself in case of theft, thanks to an alarm system which can be set from remote. The use of a biometric lock for unlocking the bag is another solution provided against the theft issue. The bag, which can be opened only by means of a defined fingerprint, will generate a warning against any attempt to open it using an undefined fingerprint.
A further advantage of the bag according to the present invention is that mobile devices can be charged by means of a USB connection or in a wireless manner in locations without a plug socket, by virtue of a power supply for one or more mobile devices provided in the bag to meet the battery needs. This power supply also supplies the energy required by the electronic hardware, e.g. the audible and visible alarm provided in the present invention.
In order to provide a better understanding of the smart bag according to the present invention, it shall be referred to figures.
