L'invention concerne un mécanisme de mouvement (M) amélioré, pour le mouvement de parties inclinables (H) d'un canapé (D) ou d'un fauteuil rembourré, qui comprend un cadre (T) conçu pour supporter un moyen de bras extensible articulé (G1, G2) pouvant se déplacer à l'aide d'un moyen d'actionnement (CA) ; ledit moyen de bras (G1, G2) supportant lesdites parties inclinables (H) ; caractérisé en ce que ledit moyen d'actionnement (CA) comprend un seul cylindre d'actionnement (CA) agencé à demeure et agissant dans une position centrale sur ledit cadre (T).
