Definitions

  • the present invention relates to design and manufacturing of a security closure, more particularly the present invention relates to the design and manufacturing of a security closure for beverage bottles.
  • the beverage industry is one of oldest industry. Large quantities of beverages are made and sold every day. The challenges that the beverage industry faces is the transportation and packaging of the beverage. The beverage is packed in a bottle so, there is a probability of breaking of the beverage bottle. Another major issue with the bottle is the adulteration of the sealed and filled bottle. The adulteration is done by refilling of the bottle with the adulterated beverage. To overcome this problem of adulteration a security closure was introduced. Usually the security closures were made of the sheet metal. The security closure indicates the first opening of the sealed and filled bottle, thereby enabling identification of any adulteration of the beverage. These security closures are difficult to manufacture as well as are costly.
  • EP2897876 (B l) discloses a security closure device (1) for an alcoholic beverage bottle (2) comprises a monolithic hollow piece (13) made of polymer material and that extends substantially along an axis (X) and formed by a cap portion (21), a sleeve portion (22) and a weakened breaking portion (23) that joins the cap portion (21) and the sleeve portion (22);
  • the cap portion (21) has an internal lateral wall (26) and an external lateral wall (27), coaxial to each other and separated by an annular gap (28);
  • the internal lateral wall (26) is provided with an internal thread (33) to engage an external thread (8) of the bottle (2) and is radially deformable inside the gap (28) as a result of mounting stresses;
  • the external lateral wall (27) masks the deformations of the internal lateral wall (26).
  • JPH07165247 discloses PURPOSE: To improve a breaking means in the axial direction, formed at the tamper-evident foot so as to be securely broken when the opening neck of a container is opened.
  • CONSTITUTION A breaking means 36 in the axial direction is constituted of a main breakable line 38 and a sub-breakable line 40 arranged from the main breakable line 38 to the peripheral direction with a short distance, in the reverse direction against the closing rotary direction of the container cap.
  • the main breakable line 38 is composed of the upper main slit 42 and the lower main slit 44 or a main slit and a main score.
  • the sub-breakable line 40 is provided with a sub-slit 46.
  • FR2893591 discloses the plastic cap (14) and skirt (12), designed to fit over the neck of a bottle and seal its rim, has a shearing line (16) between the cap and skirt that enables the cap to be unscrewed, and flexible tongues (17) round the inside of the skirt that engage with a projecting shoulder (6) round the bottle neck and prevent the skirt from being removed together with the cap. Prior to fitting, the tongues are curved downwards against the sides of the skirt, flexing outwards towards the bottle neck once they have passed the shoulder to prevent the skirt sliding back over the shoulder.
  • the existing inventions used for packing bottles are mostly two piece closures consisting of a hood cap and a restraining sleeve. Most of these security closures require an assembly by means of orientating the threads while sealing the security closure onto the neck of the bottle. These security closures are complex to manufacture, assemble and mount on to the bottle. The common problem with the above security closure is that, these security closures are expensive to manufacture. The other problem is that the perfect alignment of the threads are not visible from the outside thereby making it almost impossible to ensure that the alignment of the threads is correct. The need therefore, has arisen to develop a system that is capable of overcoming all drawbacks of the existing inventions while ensuring its advantages and hence, there is a need of the present invention.

Description

A BOTTLE SECURITY CLOSURE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to design and manufacturing of a security closure, more particularly the present invention relates to the design and manufacturing of a security closure for beverage bottles.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The beverage industry is one of oldest industry. Also, these security closures gave bad user experience because of difficulty of opening the security closure that annoyed the customer and caused loss of the customer to the beverage company. Thus, in order to overcome these difficulties in recent time’s plastic security closures were introduced that reduce the cost of manufacturing and improved the ease of use of the security closure. However, theses security closures do not overcome the problem of complexity. The existing security closures used for bottles have multiple parts that increase the complexity of manufacturing and use.
EP2897876 (B l) discloses a security closure device (1) for an alcoholic beverage bottle (2) comprises a monolithic hollow piece (13) made of polymer material and that extends substantially along an axis (X) and formed by a cap portion (21), a sleeve portion (22) and a weakened breaking portion (23) that joins the cap portion (21) and the sleeve portion (22); the cap portion (21) has an internal lateral wall (26) and an external lateral wall (27), coaxial to each other and separated by an annular gap (28); the internal lateral wall (26) is provided with an internal thread (33) to engage an external thread (8) of the bottle (2) and is radially deformable inside the gap (28) as a result of mounting stresses; the external lateral wall (27) masks the deformations of the internal lateral wall (26).
JPH07165247 (A) discloses PURPOSE: To improve a breaking means in the axial direction, formed at the tamper-evident foot so as to be securely broken when the opening neck of a container is opened. CONSTITUTION: A breaking means 36 in the axial direction is constituted of a main breakable line 38 and a sub-breakable line 40 arranged from the main breakable line 38 to the peripheral direction with a short distance, in the reverse direction against the closing rotary direction of the container cap. The main breakable line 38 is composed of the upper main slit 42 and the lower main slit 44 or a main slit and a main score. The sub-breakable line 40 is provided with a sub-slit 46.
FR2893591 (Al) discloses the plastic cap (14) and skirt (12), designed to fit over the neck of a bottle and seal its rim, has a shearing line (16) between the cap and skirt that enables the cap to be unscrewed, and flexible tongues (17) round the inside of the skirt that engage with a projecting shoulder (6) round the bottle neck and prevent the skirt from being removed together with the cap. Prior to fitting, the tongues are curved downwards against the sides of the skirt, flexing outwards towards the bottle neck once they have passed the shoulder to prevent the skirt sliding back over the shoulder.
In the prior art, the existing inventions used for packing bottles, are mostly two piece closures consisting of a hood cap and a restraining sleeve.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
The main objective of the present invention is to manufacture a single incorporated bottle security closure for bottles.
The principal objective of the present invention is to prevent the sealed and filled bottle from getting tampered with and the sealed and filled bottle constituents getting adulterated or contaminated by any external means.
Another objective of the present invention is to make the manufacturing of security closure easy and economical.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
The present invention relates to a single incorporated security closure. The present invention includes an unscrewing cap, a tear-off band, a first weakening line, a second weakening line, a taper alignment and a tubular body. The lower edge of the unscrewing cap is separated from the tear-off band by the first weakening line. The second weakening line separates the tear-off band and the tubular body. The first weakening line connects the lower edge of the unscrewing cap with the tear-off band. The second weakening line connects the tear-off band with the tubular body. The tear-off band joins the unscrewing cap and the tubular body. The taper alignment is in between the tear-off band and unscrewing cap. The taper alignment prevents the misalignment of the bottle neck. The unscrewing cap includes an end wall, a plug seal, an internal lateral wall and an external lateral wall. The end wall includes an internal closing end face and a groove. The plug seal extends from the centre of the internal closing end face and extends axially into body cavity of the security closure. The plug seal is coaxial to the internal lateral wall of the unscrewing cap. The plug seal further includes an external wall that increases in diameter as the external wall extends axially into the body cavity of the security closure and thereafter reduces in diameter to meet the free edge and forms terminating edge of the plug seal. This topography forms a seal that seals the open end of the bottle neck upon assembly with the bottle, thereby creating a fluid tight seal. The groove is concentric to the plug seal that allows the easy expansion of wall of the plug seal while preventing the deformation of the end wall. The internal lateral wall includes a cap internal thread. The tubular body includes an internal tubular wall and an external tubular wall. The internal tubular wall further includes an anchoring rib, a set of self alignment lugs and a set of anti-rotation lugs. The anchoring rib forms a circumferential projection on the internal tubular wall. The multiple numbers of set of self-alignment lugs are distributed along the circumference of the internal tubular wall below the anchoring rib to provide alignment and rigidity. The multiple numbers of the anti rotation lugs are distributed along the circumference of the internal tubular wall above the anchoring rib. The set of self-alignment lugs align the anti-rotation lug with a bottle neck projection. The anti-rotation lug upon engaging with the bottle neck projections restricts the rotation of the single incorporated bottle security closure about the axis of the bottle neck. The tear-off band includes a tear-off tongue. The tear-off tongue is used to initiate the tearing of the tear-off band. The tear-off band is oriented such that tearing of the tear-off band is in the direction that is opposite to the opening direction of the unscrewing cap so as to prevent rotation of the unscrewing cap while tearing off. The bottle neck includes an opening, a screwing portion, an external thread, a fastening portion, an axial shoulder and bottle neck projections. The axial shoulder gets locked with anchoring rib. The plug seal fits into the opening of the bottle neck. The thread misalignment is visible through the unscrewing cap thus, helping easy identification in case of misalignment of the unscrewing cap and the bottle neck and the easy visual identification of any misalignment removes the need of complicated assembly procedure.
In an embodiment, the present invention relates to a method of a single incorporated security closure. The method includes: a method of assembling the single incorporated bottle security closure with a bottle neck, the method includes: the single incorporated bottle security closure is placed over the bottle neck and snap fitted on the bottle neck by applying axial force till the cap internal thread get aligned with the external thread of the bottle neck and an anchoring rib passed an axial shoulder. A set of self-alignment lugs aligns an anti-rotation lug with a bottle neck projection upon entering by means of the taper design of the bottle neck projections and the set of self-alignment lugs. A plug seal enters an opening of the bottle neck and thus, seals the bottle neck. The anchoring rib passes the axial shoulder and gets locked with the axial shoulder and thus, preventing the axial movement. Thus the single incorporated security closure assembled with a bottle neck. A method of preventing the bottle neck misalignment, the method includes: the single incorporated bottle security closure is placed over the bottle neck and snap fitted on the bottle neck by applying axial force, and a taper alignment prevents the misalignment of the bottle neck while snap fitting the single incorporated security closure. A method of tearing a tear-off band, the method includes: a tear-off tongue is pulled by force in direction that is opposite to the direction of opening of the unscrewing cap. A first weakening line and a second weakening line start breaking, and thus the tear-off band gets torn. Thus, separating a tubular body from an unscrewing cap resulting in the first opening of the sealed and filled bottle.

The lower edge of the unscrewing cap is separated from the tear-off band by the first weakening line. The second weakening line separates the tear-off band and the tubular body that is axially restrained once the single incorporated security closure is snap fitted on a bottle neck. In the preferred embodiment, the first weakening line and the second weakening line include plurality of slits and a plurality of bridges arranged alternatively. As used herein the term“tubular body” refers to a hollow cylindrical body. The first weakening line connects the lower edge of the unscrewing cap with the tear-off band. The second weakening line connects the tear-off band with the tubular body. In the preferred embodiment, the tear-off band joins the unscrewing cap and the tubular body. The taper alignment is in between the tear-off band and the unscrewing cap. As used herein the term“taper alignment” refers to a taper portion of the unscrewing cap. The purpose of the taper alignment is to prevent the misalignment of the bottle neck. The unscrewing cap includes an end wall, a plug seal, an internal lateral wall and an external lateral wall. The end wall includes an internal closing end face and a groove. As used herein the term“plug seal” refers to a concentric portion of the unscrewing cap that fits into the opening of the bottle neck thus preventing leakage from the bottle neck. The plug seal extends from the centre of the internal closing end face and extends axially into body cavity of the security closure. As used herein the term“internal closing end face” refers to an internal wall of the end wall of the unscrewing cap. The plug seal is coaxial to the internal lateral wall of the unscrewing cap. The plug seal further includes an external wall that increases in diameter as the external wall extends axially and thereafter reduces in diameter to meet the free edge and forms the terminating edge. This topography forms a seal that seals the open end of the bottle neck upon assembly, thereby creating a fluid tight seal. The groove is concentric to the plug seal that allows the easy expansion of wall of the plug seal while preventing the deformation of the end wall. The internal lateral wall includes a cap internal thread. In an embodiment the cap internal thread is of different types including but not limited to a single start thread, a double start thread and multiple start thread. In the preferred embodiment, the cap internal thread is the multiple start thread. The cap internal thread is angularly spaced from each other. In an embodiment, the external lateral wall of the unscrewing cap exhibits an elastic property and is capable of expanding outside and reassuming its original shape. The external lateral wall of the unscrewing cap is knurled to increase the grip. The tubular body is connected to the unscrewing cap through the tear-off band with the help of the first weakening line and the second weakening line. The tubular body includes an internal tubular wall and an external tubular wall. The multiple numbers of the set of self-alignment lugs are distributed along the circumference of the internal tubular wall below the anchoring rib. The multiple numbers of the anti-rotation lug are distributed along the circumference of the internal tubular wall above the anchoring rib. As used herein the term“lug” refers to long vertical projections on the internal tubular wall of the tubular body. The set of self alignment lugs aligns the anti-rotation lug with bottle neck projections and provides rigidity to the tubular body. The anti-rotation lug restricts the rotation of the single incorporated bottle security closure about the axis of the bottle neck. The tear-off band includes a tear-off tongue. The tear-off tongue is being used to initiate the tearing of the tear-off band by breaking the first weakening line and the second weakening line. The tear-off band is oriented such that tearing of the tear-off band is in the direction that is opposite to the opening direction of the unscrewing cap so as to prevent rotation of the unscrewing cap while tearing off. In another embodiment of the present invention, the bottle neck includes an opening, a screwing portion, an external thread, a fastening portion, an axial shoulder and bottle neck projections. As used herein the term “opening” refers to the mouth of the bottle to pour out liquid. As used herein the term “screwing portion” refers to part of the bottle neck for screwing the bottle cap onto. The external thread is on the screwing portion. As used herein the term“external thread” refers to the threads that are on the outer surface of the cylindrical body. The fastening portion is positioned adjacent to the screwing portion. As used herein the term“axial shoulder” refers to a circular projection on the outer surface of the cylindrical bottle neck. The axial shoulder gets locked with anchoring rib thus restricting the axial movement of the single incorporated security closure with respect to the bottle neck. The bottle neck is being prevented from misalignment by a taper alignment. The plug seal fits into the opening of the bottle neck. In an embodiment, the external thread is of different types including but not limited to the single start thread, the double start thread and the multiple thread. The plug seal extends from the centre of the internal closing end face and extends axially into body cavity of the security closure. The plug seal is coaxial to the internal lateral wall of the unscrewing cap. The plug seal further includes an external wall that increases in diameter as the external wall extends axially and thereafter reduces in diameter to meet the free edge and forms the terminating edge. This topography forms a seal that seals the open end of the bottle neck upon assembly, thereby creating a fluid tight seal. The one or more grooves are concentric to the plug seal that allow the easy expansion of wall of the plug seal while preventing the deformation of the end wall.
