Abstract

The invention relates to a utility model pertaining to a new structural configuration for a device used in the field of fitting dental implants, and it relates to the intermediate securing element between the implant (I) and the prosthesis (P), said intermediate securing element normally being called a peg (M). Said peg (M) comprises a solid, rigid body, the lower half of which is slightly conical (C1), which corresponds to the male element of the cavity (K1) of the implant (I) in the case of a cone morse connection, or, alternatively, is capable of being provided with a screw thread in the case of the cavity (K1) being of the threadable type. The upper half of the peg (M) necessarily has a conical shape (C2) which corresponds to the male element of a cone morse connection assembly. The unit as a whole further comprises the prosthesis (P), which is the artificial tooth implanted in the patient. The lower face of said prosthesis (P) has a cavity (K2) that is slightly conical, which corresponds to a female element of a cone morse connection assembly, such that the connection between the peg (M) and the prosthesis (P) is thus achieved by means of the cone morse securing system.

Description

APERFEIÇOAMENTO INTRODUZIDO EM ELEMENTO DE FIXAÇÃO DE PRÓTESE DENTÁRIA  IMPROVEMENT INTRODUCED IN DENTAL FIXATION ELEMENT
[001] Campo da invenção  Field of the invention
The present utility model refers to a new constructive configuration of a device employed in the activity of dental implant placement, and is the intermediate fixation element between the base (bone implant) and the prosthesis (artificial tooth), said intermediate fixing element being commonly referred to as a Trunnion. As said trunnion stands out from the state of the art by the way it receives the fixation of the dental prosthesis, avoiding a number of drawbacks observed in the prior art.
[003] Estado da técnica  State of the art
It is known that in the field of dental activity for the placement of dental prostheses, there is a specialty which is defined by the implantation of artificial teeth individually, directly into the bone, by the insertion of a set of metallic elements, this being performed by surgical means. In turn, the best known technique employs a base element, which is the "Implant" itself, and which is provided with a conical or cylindrical external thread, whereby it is screwed into an equivalent shaped hole, the which is performed on the patient's jaw bone. Said implant serves as the basis for the mounting of an upper element, which is called a Trunnion - which receives the fixation of the artificial tooth. - The external end of the implant has a slightly conical cavity, inside which the posterior (cervical) end of the trunnion is fitted, and in this end the trunnion has a slightly conical equivalent shape, enabling the fixation known as “Cone morse”, which is a very efficient means of joining, which provides a very efficient fixing and optimal sealing, among other benefits. Said trunnion also can be fitted to implants with external or internal hexagonal surface, in which case the cervical end of the sleeve will have the male / female socket by copying the implant platform. In turn, the anterior (occlusal) end of the trunnion - the one that receives the mounting and fixing of the artificial tooth - has a cylindrical shape, while the artificial tooth has at its posterior (cervical) end an equivalent shaped cavity, thus providing a fitting between the two elements. Whereas, two ways are known for the fixation between the artificial tooth and the trunnion, the first one being characterized by the application of a cementitious substance between the two elements; while the second form comprises drilling a vertical hole in the implant, and inserting a screw which enters a hole in the top of the Trunnion (in this case the Trunnion is called a pillar or mini-pillar, or micro cornerstone). The two described fixation means have their drawbacks, and in the case of fixation by cementitious substance, the presence of cement in contact with the alveolar mucosa causes an irritation and accumulation of bacteria, generating an inflammatory process, besides that , the cemented joint often breaks, loosening the artificial tooth. In the case of fastening means by screwing, the artificial tooth needs to be drilled, which must be covered later with resin, negatively affecting the aesthetic appearance of the tooth, and it is common for the screw to suffer deformation, breakage , to even let go.
[005] Objetivos da Invenção  Objectives of the Invention
In order to remedy such drawbacks, the present utility model was developed, which proposes a Trunnion which, in addition to presenting its posterior end - the one that is fixed to the implant - with a Morse Cone fixation system (or External Exagon or Internal Exagon), it also has its anterior end - the one that is fixed to the artificial tooth - with a cone-type fixation system Morse, which does not have slots and spaces, creates a stable and practically free of bacteria, and also does not need any type of cement or screw, since it is a frictional connection, ie only by snapping, and which increases its effectiveness over time with the pressure exerted by chewing, and facilitates the preparation of the prosthesis that will go over the trunnion in a proper technique.

[016] According to these illustrations and their details, the present utility model: IMPROVEMENT INTRODUCED IN DENTAL FIXATION ELEMENT initially comprises the popularly named Implant (I) element, which comprises a rigid conical shaped body in whose external face is formed by a thread, and at the anterior end of said implant - the one with the largest diameter - a cavity (K1) is formed which can be be of a mildly conical type, thus corresponding to the female element of a morse cone joint; or said cavity (K1) may be provided with an internal thread, or may be of hexagonal shape.
[017] The assembly also comprises an intermediate element, which is called a Trunnion (M), which comprises a rigid and solid body, whose lower half has a soft conical shape (Cl) corresponding to the male cavity element (Kl). of the implant (I) for union of the morse cone type, or may be threaded, in case the cavity (Kl) is of the threadable type. Dentistry is very simple and practical. The implant (I) is screwed into a drilling performed surgically in one of the patient's jaws. In the next step, the Trunnion (M) has its lower portion (Cl) inserted and fixed in the Implant (I) cavity (K), obtaining a permanent fixation, thus leaving the Trunnion upper portion (C2) exposed. (M) In the third step, after the Prosthesis (P) has been adequately molded by known molding transfer processes, said prosthesis (P) has its lower cavity (K2) seated over the upper portion (C2) of the trunnion ( M), when then occurs the Morse Cone union, which in turn is activated by performing small strokes with a small rubber-faced hammer. To effect the prosthesis union (P) it is recommended to apply small strokes with a hammer - already available in the present activity for activation of implants - but with a rubber on its tip or on the prosthesis (P), and this rubber can be obtained. through a molding material such as a silicone. This effect of union will be stronger during the course of chewing, due to the application of effort on this installed prosthesis (P). Once the prosthesis (P) is installed, it is not desired to remove it in all systems, but when it needs to be removed, the ceramic part - prosthesis (P) - is lost, and the component in this case may be removed. with a pair of pliers, turning it clockwise and pulling it without problem affecting the trunnion (M) and without danger of dusting the screw in case the trunnion (M) has its lower portion (Cl) threaded, and turning the trunnion screw in this direction will not loosen.
