Abstract
The present invention relates to a laundry washer-dryer (1) comprising a body (2), a loading port (3) provided on the body (2), a door (5) enabling covering the loading port (3), having at least two frames (4) attached to each other, at least one seat (6) provided on a frame (4), a hinge (11) enabling the door (5) to be pivotally connected to the body (2), and at least one arm (9) provided on the hinge (11), placed in the seat (6) so as to rest between the frames (4), having at least one pivot (10) forming the rotational axis of the door (5).
Description
The present invention relates to a laundry washer-dryer in which the connection between the door and the hinge is realized quickly and firmly.
In general, the laundry washer-dryers comprise an opening provided on a body, enabling access into a drum in which the laundry items are placed, and a door connected to the body by means of a hinge so as to be pivoted about a vertical rotational axis, enabling opening and closing the opening. The hinge has a base connected on the body, and at least one arm placed on a seat disposed between door frames, on which pivots are provided, enabling pivoting the door. One of the problems of the laundry washer-dryers of the art is that the hinge may be displaced due to its arm not being connected to the seat sufficiently firmly, or may bend over time due to the weight of the door, or may be deformed under an excessive mechanical pressure acting on the door. Another problem of the laundry washer-dryers of the art is that the screw connection between the hinge and the frame prolongs the assembly duration and increases labor costs.
State of the art international patent application no. WO2017097317 describes a washing machine in which pivot bearings engaged in axial direction on pivots are fixed on a frame.
State of the art United States patent application no. US20140009049 describes a washing machine in which a door is firmly supported.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a laundry washer-dryer in which the connection between the door and the hinge is realized in a simple and firm manner.
The laundry washer-dryer realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims, comprises a hinge having a base fixed on the body, at least one support provided on the base, and a cylindrical arm on which at least one pivot is provided onto which the door is pivotally connected, a retainer mounted on the arm so as to at least partially surround the lateral surface of the arm, and at least a pair of coupling means provided on the door and the retainer, enabling the retainer to be attached to the door by mutually engaging each other. In addition, the door comprises at least two annular frames attached to each other, and a seat disposed between the frames, in which the arm is placed. The retainer enables the arm to be supported firmly, by gripping the arm so as to enclose at least partially the circumference of the pivot. The coupling means enable the retainer to be securely and detachably attached on the door by engaging each other by form-fitting connection, in particular by force fitting and/or snap fitting connection. The door and the hinge are thus enabled to be durably connected to each other, by means of fixing the arm, in particular the retainer gripping the pivot, being fixed on the door. This embodiment is advantageous in that the arm is peripherally supported on the side surface of the hinge, averting problems such as wobbly pivoting and downwards tilting of the door likely to happen due to loosening of the connection between the door and the hinge over time and deformation on connection regions.
In an embodiment of the invention, the retainer is shaped as an elastic clip mounted on the frame, and has thereon a longitudinal opening, and an engagement recess in which fits the arm introduced through the opening. The retainer can thereby be easily detached from and attached on the arm.
In another embodiment of the invention, the engagement recess has a "U" shape so as to almost completely surround the arm, in particular the pivot. The arm is thus force fittingly inserted into the engagement recess, enabling the retainer to firmly and securely support the arm. This prevents the arm from escaping from the engagement recess.
In another embodiment of the invention, at least one guide is provided on the frame, guiding the engagement motion of the retainer on the arm. The retainer can thus be attached on the arm by simply being placed in the guide and being slid, without requiring manual alignment. This provides ease of maintenance by simplifying assembly and disassembly of the retainer.
In another embodiment of the invention, the coupling means are at least one tab and at least one abutment on which the tab abuts when the retainer is engaged on the arm. This embodiment is particularly advantageous in that the tabs securely engage on the abutment and that they can be easily detached from the abutment.
In another embodiment of the invention, the coupling means are at least one protrusion and at least one hole each of which engage a protrusion when the retainer is engaged on the arm. This embodiment is advantageous in that it enables the retainer to be stationarily fixed on the frame, thereby averting problems likely to be caused by the connection between the hinge and the door loosening over time.
By means of the invention, the hinge can be fixed on the frame in a quick and simple manner, without being screwed thereon. Time and cost advantage is thus provided by reducing the number of parts used for fixing.

The laundry washer-dryer (1) comprises a body (2), a loading port (3) provided on the body (2), a door (5) enabling covering the loading port (3), having at least two frames (4) attached to each other, at least one seat (6) provided on the frame (4), a hinge (11) enabling the door (5) to be pivotally connected to the body (2), and at least one arm (9) provided on the hinge (11), placed in the seat (6) so as to rest between the frames (4), having at least one pivot (10) forming the rotational axis of the door (5). The laundry washer-dryer (1) may be a laundry washing machine, a laundry dryer or a combined laundry washer-dryer. The laundry items to be washed/dried are loaded in the drum (not shown in the figures) in which the washing/drying process is performed by means of the loading port (3) provided on the body (2). The door (5) is connected to the body (2) by means of the hinge (11), and enables covering the loading port (3). The hinge (11) comprises a base (7) fixed on the body (2), at least one support (8) provided on the base (7) and at least one arm (9) disposed at the end of the support (8). The pivot (10) disposed on the arm (9) is supported in the seat (6) provided on one of the frames (4), such that the arm (9) remains in the door (5).
The laundry washer-dryer (1) of the invention comprises at least one retainer (13) mounted on the arm (9) so as to enclose in radial direction at least partially the circumference of the arm (9) and coupling means (14) provided on a frame (4) and the retainer (13), enabling the retainer (13) to be detachably attached to the frame (4) by engaging each other upon an engagement recess (12) being mounted on the arm (9). The retainer (13) is shaped as a clamp fitted on the arm (9), and grips the arm (9) so as to enclose the side surface of the elongated arm (9). At least one pair of coupling means (14) provided on the retainer (13) and the frame (4), spontaneously interlock each other when the retainer (13) is fitted on the arm (9), enabling the retainer (13) to be detachably connected in a form-fitting manner on the frame (4). Thanks to the coupling means (14), the hinge (11) can be attached on the door (5) without requiring an additional alignment and fixing operation. The retainer (13) inhibits tilting and detachment of the arm (9) by supporting the arm (9) against forces acting on the door (5) in perpendicular direction to the pivot's (10) axis. This advantageously enables the arm (9) to be supported in perpendicular direction to the pivot's (10) axis, preventing the door (5) from tilting due to dislocation of its rotational axis, and effectively enhancing the firmness of the connection between the door (5) and the hinge (11).
In an embodiment of the invention, the retainer (13) has thereon an engagement recess (12) in which the arm (9) is fitted when the retainer (13) is mounted on the arm (9), and at least one opening (15) opening to the engagement recess (12), enabling the retainer (13) to be mounted on the arm (9) by being engaged in radial direction. The retainer (13) is engaged on the arm (9) by being pushed towards the arm (9) from the side of the arm (9). A longitudinal opening (15) is provided on the retainer (13), through which the arm (9) passes and engages into the engagement recess (12) during movement of the retainer (13) towards the arm (9). By means of the opening (15), the retainer (13) can be mounted on the arm (9) by being engaged in a radial direction perpendicular to the pivot's (10) axis, without requiring detachment of the arm (9) from the seat (6).
In another embodiment of the invention, the engagement recess (12) has an almost "U" shaped cross-section in the state where the retainer (13) is mounted on the arm (9). The engagement recess (12) has an almost U-shaped cross-section and the opening (15) is shaped as a longitudinal slit. During engagement of the retainer (13) on the arm (9), the ends of the retainer (13) bend and move away from each other, and the arm (9) passes through the expanded opening (15) and fits into the engagement recess (12). The arm (9) is thus enabled to be wedged by the retainer (13), further enhancing the connection between the door (5) and the hinge (11).
In another embodiment of the invention, at least one guide (16) is provided on the frame (4), in which the retainer (13) is slidingly moved so as to guide the retainer's (13) motion in radial direction. The guide (16) is shaped as a channel through an end of which the retainer (13) is passed therein. The retainer (13) is engaged on the arm (9) in radial direction by means of being slid within the guide (16). By means of the guide (16) the retainer (13) is enabled to be correctly mounted on the arm (9), thereby ensuring correct interlocking of the coupling means (14) to each other. The hinge (11) is thus enabled to be assembled to the door (5) in a quick and simple manner.
In another embodiment of the invention, the coupling means (14) comprise at least one abutment (17), and at least one tab (18) engaging on the abutment (17) upon the retainer (13) being mounted on the arm (9). During engagement of the retainer (13) on the arm (9), the tab (18) provided on the retainer (13) flexes by abutting on the abutment (17) disposed on the frame (4), and when the arm (9) fits in the engagement recess (12), it climbs over the tab (17) and rests on the tab (17). The retainer (13) is thus enabled to be simply detached from and re-attached on the frame (4) when required.
In another embodiment of the invention, the coupling means (14) comprise at least one hole (19), and at least one protrusion (20) engaging in the hole (19) upon the retainer (13) being mounted on the arm (9). When the arm (9) fits in the engagement recess (12), the protrusion (20) provided on the frame (4) firmly fits into the hole (19) disposed on the retainer (13). The retainer (13) is thus firmly fixed on the frame (4).
By means of the invention, ease of assembly and maintenance is provided by reducing the number of parts used to connect the hinge (11) to the door (5), and problems likely to occur over time, such as deformation or malfunction are averted by enhancing the connection between the door (5) and the hinge (11).
