Abstract

The invention relates to an adjusting knob without any mechanical adjusting member, wherein the distance between the components changes depending on the turning of the knob and the value of a variable, which is desired to be controlled, is enabled to be adjusted according to said distance differences between the components. More particularly, the invention relates to an adjusting knob comprising at least one sensor (1) and a stepped structure (2) positioned opposite said sensor (1), said stepped structure (2) having a stepped geometry with perpendicular distance from the sensor (1) changing in response to turning the rotating portion (4), wherein the distance between the sensor (1) and the stepped structure (2) is matched with different values of the variable intended to be controlled and the value of the variable is changed depending on an increase or decrease in the distance.
