供試体の含水状態を変化させる吸水・乾燥工程と、吸水・乾燥工程にて所定時間吸水・乾燥させた供試体に放射線を照射し、当該供試体を透過した放射線を可視化した透過画像を撮影する透過画像撮影工程と、透過画像撮影工程にて撮影した透過画像から読み取れる供試体の含水状態に基づいて供試体の評価する評価工程と、を備える。

Description

非破壊検査方法
 本開示は放射線を用いて供試体の非破壊検査を行う非破壊検査方法に関するものである。
 近年、道路、橋梁、トンネル、建築物等のインフラストラクチャー(以下、インフラ構造物という)の老朽化に対して、適切な維持管理、補修、更新が望まれている。
 特にコンクリート構造物は、材料や環境の影響を受けて体積変化(膨張・収縮)し、ひび割れ等の欠損が生ずる可能性がある。
 そこで従来のコンクリート膨張・収縮量評価では2箇所ピンを埋設あるいは貼付し、このピンの二点間の長さをコンタクトゲージ等で定期的に計測し、長さの変化量から膨張量を算出していた。しかし、このような評価手法ではピンの二点間の長さ変化が大きくなると、ピンが外れる可能性があり評価できない。また、ピンのない部分の評価をすることができないという問題がある。そのため、コンクリート構造物を非破壊検査により評価する手法が望まれている。
 例えば、特許文献1では、コンクリート壁の隅角部の一方の外壁面に中性子線を射出する線源部を設け、他方の外壁面には線源部から射出された中性子線を受ける中性子検出器を設けることで、コンクリート壁の含水量を検出している。そして、検出された含水量から、コンクリート壁の劣化程度を評価している。

 しかしながら、特許文献1では、中性子線によるコンクリート壁の含水量から、どのようにコンクリート壁の劣化を評価しているかについて具体的に記されていない。そのため、被測定物の含水量に基づいて、正確に被測定物の劣化を評価する手法が必要である。
 そこで、本発明の実施形態はこのような問題点を解決するためになされたもので、その目的とするところは、供試体の含水状態に基づいて、より正確に供試体の劣化を評価することができる非破壊検査方法を提供するものである。
 上記した目的を達成するために、本発明の実施形態に係る非破壊検査方法では、供試体の含水状態を変化させる吸水・乾燥工程と、前記吸水・乾燥工程にて所定時間吸水・乾燥させた供試体に放射線を照射し、当該供試体を透過した放射線を可視化した透過画像を撮影する透過画像撮影工程と、前記透過画像撮影工程にて撮影した透過画像から読み取れる供試体の含水状態に基づいて供試体を評価する評価工程と、を備える。
 また、上述の非破壊検査方法において、前記供試体はコンクリートとしてもよい。
 また、上述の非破壊検査方法において、前記透過画像撮影工程にて用いる放射線は中性子であってもよい。
 また、上述の非破壊検査方法において、前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる供試体の含水状態としては、水の浸透高さの不均一性が含まれてもよい。
 また、前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる供試体の含水状態としては、前記供試体の浸透速度のバラつきが含まれてもよい。
 また、前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる前記供試体の含水状態としては、前記供試体の吸水速度の時間微分が含まれてもよい。
 上記手段を用いる本発明の実施形態によれば、供試体の含水状態に基づいて、より正確に供試体の劣化を評価することができる。

 以下、本発明の実施形態を図面に基づき説明する。
 図1には本実施形態に係る非破壊検査方法に用いる検査装置の概略構成図が示されており、以下同図に基づき検査装置の構成について説明する。
 本実施形態の非破壊検査方法において使用する検査装置1は、小型加速器中性子源2、検出器3と、供試体支持部4とを有している。
 小型加速器中性子源2は、中性子を発生させるための放射線源となる、電源部10、線形加速器11、及びターゲットステーション12と、生成された中性子を照射する照射部13とを有している。
 詳しくは、電源部10は、加速器に電力を供給する高圧電源である。電源部10の高圧電源は、少なくとも陽子を中性子発生に必要なエネルギーまで加速可能な発電性能を備え、電圧変動が少ないものが好ましい。
 線形加速器11は、イオン源11aを有し、当該イオン源11aから円筒状の加速器11bが延びて、ターゲットステーション12に接続されている。
 ターゲットステーション12は、遮蔽体により覆われており、内部には図示しない中性子発生用ターゲットが設けられている。遮蔽体は中性子やガンマ線を遮蔽する素材からなり、例えばホウ素入りポリエチレンや鉛等を用いて形成されている。ターゲットは陽子と衝突して中性子を生じるものであり、例えばベリリウム(Be)が挙げられる。
 照射部13は、遮蔽材であるポリエチレンにより形成され、ターゲットから発生した中性子(中性子ビーム)を供試体TPに向けて照射する部分である。
 検出器3は、中性子の強度分布を画像化する撮像系(イメージングカメラ)有し、入力側の中性子コンバータにて中性子線を可視光に変換して、イメージセンサで撮影することで中性子の透過画像を出力するものである。イメージングカメラにはインテンシファイアといった入力信号を増幅する装置も含まれる場合もある。
 また、供試体支持部4は、検出器3に近接して配置されており、供試体TPを検出器3の入力面前に位置するよう支持する。供試体TPは例えばコンクリート片である。
 このように構成された検査装置1は、例えば、線形加速器11で生成されたエネルギー7MeVの陽子をターゲットステーション12にあるベリリウムに衝突させて、最高エネルギー5MeVの高速中性子を生成し、ポリエチレンモデレータを通じて50meVの熱中性子と1MeVの高速中性子を発生させ、照射部13を通じて中性子ビームを出力する。そして、供試体支持部4上に配置された供試体TPに中性子ビームを照射し、透過した中性子数を検出器3によって計測することで中性子を吸収・散乱する物質の空間分布を可視化(透過画像撮影)する。本実施形態ではエネルギーがmeV領域の熱中性子を検出して反応断面積の大きい水素、すなわち浸透する水を吸水前後のコンクリートに対する中性子透過率の差として評価する。
 図2には、本実施形態における非破壊検査方法のフローチャートが示されており、以下同フローチャートに沿って、非破壊検査方法の手順について説明する。
 まず、本検査方法のステップS1として、供試体TPの含水率を定値にするよう乾燥させる。供試体TPを恒湿槽や炉に入れて乾燥させてもよい。
 次のステップS2として、供試体TPの含水状態を変化させる(吸水・乾燥工程)。当該吸水・乾燥工程では、例えば、図3における供試体の吸水工程の概略図に示すように、供試体TPがアルミ容器20に直接触れないようアルミ角棒21a、21bを底面に配しており、供試体TPをアルミ角棒21a、21b上に載置している。また、供試体TPの底面から数%の高さまで水を張ることで、供試体TPの底面から吸水させる。または水を張らずに乾燥させる。
 次のステップS3では、ステップS2において供試体TPに水を吸水・乾燥させてから予め定めた所定時間を経過したか否かを判別する。当該所定時間としては、例えば数時間から数十時間が設定される。当該判別結果が偽(No)である場合はステップS2に戻り、供試体TPへの水の吸水・乾燥を継続する。一方、当該判別結果が真(Yes)である場合はステップS4に進む。
 ステップS4では、小型加速器中性子源2を用いた供試体TPの透過画像撮影を行う(透過画像撮影工程)。当該透過画像撮影時には、供試体TPをアルミ容器20から取り出して計量を行った後、供試体支持部4に設置して中性子ビームを一定時間(例えば3分間)照射して、透過画像の撮影を行う。
 ステップS5では、供試体TPの評価を行う(評価工程)。コンクリート片等の供試体TPについての劣化度合いは体積変化(膨張、収縮)に起因しており、また、体積変化は供試体TPの含水状態に相関する。このことから、供試体TPの評価は、ステップS4にて所定時間毎に撮影した透過画像から読み取れる供試体TPの含水状態に基づいて行う。含水状態としては、例えば、水の浸透高さ等の浸透性状、及び浸透速度があり、このような含水状態の不均一性(バラつき)が膨張量に相関する。また、供試体TPの眼錐状体としては、吸水速度の時間微分がある。
 そこでステップS5における供試体TPの評価は、同一ブロックから切り出した複数の供試体についての吸水・乾燥過程における含水状態を比較して、含水状態の不均一性から膨張量の推定評価を行う。この含水状態の不均一性については、予めモデル供試体における含水状体の不均一性と膨張量の相関性をデータベースとして構築しておくのが好ましい。
 そして次のステップS6では、予め定められた検査期間を終了したか否かを判別する。当該検査期間としては、例えば数百時間(数日間)設定されており、当該検査期間が未だ終了していない場合は、当該判別結果は偽(No)となり、ステップS2に戻り、吸水・乾燥を再開する。一方、当該検査期間が終了した場合は、判別結果は真(Yes)となり、評価終了となる。
 このように、供試体も含水状態を変化させ、中性子源を用いた透過画像から供試体TPの含水状態を読み取り、当該含水状態から供試体TPを評価することで、供試体TPを傷つけることもなく、さらに供試体TP内全域における状態を詳細に評価することができる。
 また、本実施形態に係る非破壊検査方法では、含水状態に応じて劣化度合いが変化するコンクリートに対して特に適している。
 さらに透過画像撮影するのに用いる放射線として中性子を用いることで、供試体TP内の含水状態を正確に検出することができる。
 また供試体TPの含水状態として水の浸透高さの不均一性や、浸透速度の不均一性を用いることで、正確に供試体の膨張量(又は収縮量)を把握でき、精度の高い劣化判定を行うことができる。
 以上のことから、本実施形態に係る非破壊検査方法によれば、より正確に供試体TPの劣化を評価することができる。
 次に、供試体TPをコンクリート片とし、水の浸透性状と膨張量との相関性を確認できる本発明の非破壊検査方法における実施例について説明する。
 まず供試体TPの構成について説明する。図4、5を参照すると、図4には本実施例にて用いた供試体一覧表が示されており、図5には各供試体の膨張量等を示す表が示されている。
 本実施例では、供試体として、図4に示すように、供試体N、ASR300a、ASR300b、ASR900a、ASR900b(これら4つの供試体はASRシリーズという)の5種類を使用している。
 詳しくは、供試体Nは普通骨材を使用した100×100×400mmのコンクリートブロックであり、ASRシリーズはそれぞれ反応性細骨材を使用した75×75×400mmのコンクリートブロックである。
 ASRシリーズは、供試体両端に予め埋設した測定ピン間を測り、長さ変化を基長400mmで除して膨張量を算出している。また、ASR300a、bは人工クリストバライト、ASR900aは北海道産安山岩砂、ASR900bは北海道安山岩砕砂を用い、図4に示すアルカリ量になるようNaOHを添加している。
 全ての供試体の材齢は1年以上であり、ASRシリーズの膨張量は促進試験終了から本検査まで変化ないことを確認している。
 また、ASRシリーズは軸方向の中央付近から厚さ50mm程度に切り出して検査に用いている。供試体Nは全ての面を1cm程度切り取り、残りの部分から厚さ50mmを取り出したものを用いている。なお、本実施例では、50℃の炉に入れることで乾燥状態を作り出しており、飽水状態は水中に置くことで作り出し、乾燥・飽水状態は供試体質量が変化しなくなった状態と定義したものである。
 次に、図5を参照しつつ水の浸透性状に影響を及ぼすものと考えられる供試体の緻密性や空隙量を把握するため、簡易な品質評価手法である超音波試験とX線CT画像の撮影を実施した結果を説明する。
 供試体の幅、高さ、厚み方向に対して透過した際の超音波伝搬速度を各方向に3点、計9点を測定し,平均値を供試体の超音波伝搬速度としている。なお、含水状態の影響を考慮して乾燥状態と飽水状態の2つの場合で測定を行っている。共振周波数は54kHz、探触子のサイズは直径6cmである。また、X線CTでは、CT画像をスタックした3D画像から空隙量を算出している。
 CT撮影には産業用X線CT装置を使用している。撮影時のX線管電圧は450kV、管電流1.55mA、解像度は270μm/pixel、スライス厚は1mmである。空隙量の導出にはCTデータ解析ソフトウェアにてCT画像をボリュームデータにモデリングして二値化処理を行った後、閾値以下の体積素が8ボクセル連続した場合にその領域を空隙と見なすことでサイズがサブミリメートル以上の空隙を抽出し、全体の体積で除した値を空隙率としている。
 図5には各供試体の膨張量および空隙率そして乾燥時、飽水時の超音波伝搬速度と含水状態の違いによる速度差が示されている。ASR300aとASR300bの空隙率が5%、ASR900aとASR900bの空隙率が9%程度であり、膨張量の増加に対する空隙率の増加傾向が確認できる。また、超音波試験においてもASRシリーズは膨張量の増加に伴い超音波伝搬速度が総じて低下する結果となっている。
 一方、供試体Nは空隙率が9.2%であるにも拘らず超音波伝搬速度が乾燥、飽水時共に最大値を示している。これは供試体内に分布した空隙とASRにより生じたクラックが速度低下に及ぼす影響に差異があるためと推察される。
 次に、検査装置1おける各供試体(コンクリート片)に浸透する水の透過画像導出方法について説明する。
 詳細には、中性子ビームを照射せずに撮影するダーク画像と、供試体の無い状態で中性子ビームを照射して撮影するダイレクト画像、供試体に中性子ビームを照射して撮影するサンプル画像の計3種類の画像を撮影し、画像処理ソフトを使用して画像解析を実施する。
 中性子を利用したイメージングにおいては出力画像に放射線ノイズ、画素損傷によるノイズ(外れ値)、環境温度やビーム照射前後に変動するオフセットが存在するため、空間フィルタを作成してノイズ除去を行い、ダーク画像をダイレクト画像およびサンプル画像から引くオフセット補正を実施する。
 そしてサンプル画像をダイレクト画像で除すことで中性子ビームが示す強度分布を平坦化させるシェーディング補正を行い、透過イメージを作成する。
 具体的には、入射前後の中性子強度をIin、Ioutとすると中性子透過率TはIout/Iinであり透過率の対数ln(Iout/Iin)は熱中性子に対して一定の値を示す減衰係数aと透過する物質の厚さdに比例する関数として、下記式1で表される。

 そして、吸水前(時間t=0)、吸水後(時間t)に撮影した画像間の差分(ΔTとする)である浸透する水の透過イメージを下記式2を用いて導出した。
 ΔT=-ln(I/It=0)=a ・・・ 式2
 aは単位長さあたりの水の減衰係数、dは中性子透過方向に存在する浸透した水の厚さである。
 次に、コンクリート片への水の浸透性状評価について説明する。
 図6には、水の厚さと透過率差の関係図が示されており、これは秤で計量された吸水量を中性子が入射されるコンクリート表面の全体面積で除した平均化された水の厚さdとコンクリート片に対する吸水前後の透過率差ΔTの関係を示している。
 図6に示すように、全供試体の吸水過程において吸水量が増加すると透過率の差が拡大しており、浸透した水の厚さdとΔTとの線形関係を確認することができる。熱中性子を利用する場合、コンクリートの吸水に伴うΔTの変化は、中性子散乱の影響を受けてコンクリートが厚くなるほど小さくなり、コンクリート内部の水は見えづらくなる。
 そのため、厚さが3cmを超えるコンクリートでは透過画像から求まる水の厚さの定量性を維持できない場合がある。しかし、本実施例では線形的な水の厚さdと透過率差ΔTの関係を示し、吸水量が0.5g/cmであれば5cm厚さのコンクリートの水の浸透を評価可能である。
 次に、水の浸透の経時変化について説明する。
 図7には、供試体5種の吸水過程における浸透した水の透過イメージ図が示されている。これは吸水前後の中性子透過率の差ΔTをグレースケールで階調表示したものである。解像度(1画素あたりの寸法)は1.8×1.8mmである。影に該当する部分が浸透した水であり、影の濃さが増すほど存在する水の量が多いことを示している。なお、画像内に透過率の低い画素が離散的に分布しているが、これは中性子の統計誤差によって2画像を除算した場合に水の有無に関わらずバラつきとして生じたものである。時間が経つにつれて水の浸透範囲が広がることを図から確認することができる。
 具体的には、供試体ASR900bにおいては不均一な状態を示しながら浸透が進んでいく様子が確認できる。供試体ASR300bやASR900aでは粗骨材分布の影響と思われる水の浸透が進んでいない部分が一部見られるが約1週間経過すると供試体全体に水が分布している。
 そこでΔTの値を1画素の高さ毎に水平方向に積算し、高さ方向に対する水の分布をプロットして不均一性も含めた水の浸透度合を評価する。
 図8には、供試体ASR300b、900bに関する水の浸透度合の経時変化のグラフが示されている。図の縦軸はコンクリートの高さ(mm)、横軸は水平方向の水の厚さの総和を示しており、縦軸と横軸の積が浸透した水の量に相当する。
 いずれも高さ20mm以下の部分では約25h経過すると水の浸透度合は8日間浸透した場合と同等であり既に飽和している様子が見られる。また、供試体ASR900bはASR300bと比べて高さ方向に対する浸透度合の変化が大きく、図7の透過画像が示す不均一な浸透が影響したものであると考えられる。
 図9には、各供試体に関する水の浸透高さの経時変化のグラフが示されている。浸透高さ(mm)は、例えば、図7に示した透過画像における水の分布のピーク高さ又は平均高さ、その他、図8で示した水の浸透度合いにおける水の厚さの変わり目の高さ等で定義可能である。
 図9に示すように、膨張量が300μ程度を示すASR300aとASR300bとの浸透高さ変化の差分に比べて、膨張量が900μ程度を示す供試体ASR900aとASR900bとの浸透高さ変化の差分が大きい。つまり、膨張量の増加に伴い、浸透速度のバラつきの大きさが拡大する傾向にあることがわかる。
 図10には質量含水率(吸水量を乾燥状態の供試体重量で除した値)の経時変化のグラフが示されている。吸水を開始してから50h経過時においては質量含水率の変化量はASR900b>300a>300b>N>900aの順となり膨張量が900μ程度を示す供試体ASR900aと900bでは、含水率変化が最大と最小を示す両極端な結果となっている。
 ASR900aは他の供試体に比べて吸水量が小さく、図8で示される浸透性状においては浸透範囲が狭い結果となっている。700h経過時に測定した質量含水率はASR900b>900a>300a>300b>Nの順である。アルカリシリカ反応が生じていない健全な供試体Nは最も質量含水率の低い結果となっている。供試体ASR900aは50h以降、他の4種に比べて大きな質量含水率変化を示し700h経過後には供試体ASR900bに次ぐ質量含水率に至っている。
 一方、質量含水率変化が最大値をとる供試体ASR900bは上述した超音波試験やX線CT撮像の結果において飽水時と乾燥時共に超音波伝搬速度が最も低くかつ空隙率が高いことから5種類の供試体の中で最も品質の劣る緻密性の低い供試体であると予想される。
 ASR900bが吸水開始時からの質量含水率変化が最大であることや不均一な浸透性状を示すことは劣化程度や配合、使用材料といったパラメータの違いがマクロな水の動きとなって現れていることが考えられ、膨張量が同等であっても水の浸透性状が異なることがわかる。5種の供試体の結果から、膨張ひずみによって高さ方向や水平方向に不均一な空隙構造が生じることにより、質量含水率の経時変化(吸水速度)や浸透する水の分布(浸透高さ)に差異が現れることが明らかとなった。
 本実施例から、小型加速器中性子源を利用した透過画像によってアルカリシリカ反応を起こした4種類の供試体と1種の健全な供試体における水の浸透性状を評価することで、供試体における膨張量を推定する事ができることがわかる。従ってこのような非破壊検査方法によりコンクリート片等の供試体の含有する含水状態に基づいて、より正確に供試体の劣化を評価することができる。
 以上で本発明の実施形態の説明を終えるが、本発明の態様はこの実施形態に限定されるものではない。
 例えば上記実施形態及び実施例では供試体としてコンクリート片を用いているが、他の構造体にも適用可能である。
 また、上記実施形態及び実施例では、中性子源により供試体を透過した透過画像に基づき評価を行っているが、その他の放射線源を用いてもよい。例えば、電磁波を用いて透過画像を撮影してもよい。ただし、上記実施形態及び実施例のように中性子を用いることで供試体に鉄や鉛・銅などの重金属が含有されていても水分を高感度に検出できるという利点がある。

Claims (6)

  1.  供試体の含水状態を変化する吸水・乾燥工程と、
     前記吸水・乾燥工程にて所定時間吸水・乾燥させた前記供試体に放射線を照射し、当該供試体を透過した放射線を可視化した透過画像を撮影する透過画像撮影工程と、
     前記透過画像撮影工程にて撮影した透過画像から読み取れる前記供試体の含水状態に基づいて前記供試体を評価する評価工程と、
     を備える非破壊検査方法。
  2.  前記供試体はコンクリートである請求項1記載の非破壊検査方法。
  3.  前記透過画像撮影工程にて用いる放射線は中性子である請求項1又は2記載の非破壊検査方法。
  4.  前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる前記供試体の含水状態としては、水の浸透高さの不均一性が含まれる請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の非破壊検査方法。
  5.  前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる前記供試体の含水状態としては、前記供試体の浸透速度のバラつきが含まれる請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載の非破壊検査方法。
  6.  前記評価工程における透過画像から読み取れる前記供試体の含水状態としては、前記供試体の吸水速度の時間微分が含まれる請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の非破壊検査方法。
