Abstract

The invention relates to a filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram, designed for filtering air contaminated with dust, toxins, allergens and other dangerous substances. The filtration cover comprising a lower part (5) that covers at least partially the seat from the top, and an upper part (1, 4), wherein the upper part (1, 4) is unfolded and mounted on the part of the seat not covered by the lower part (5), is characterised in that it comprises an at least one filter insert (2, 6, 7) that purifies the polluted air, as well as means for connecting tightly the lower (5) and upper (1, 4) parts to the seat in such a way that the air exchange between the space inside the pram and the outside space occurs essentially through said at least one filter insert (2, 6, 7).

Description

Filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram
The invention relates to a filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram. The cover is designed for filtering air contaminated with dust, toxins, allergens and other dangerous substances.
The problem of polluted air is well known in large and overcrowded cities with increased traffic of motor vehicles, as well as in industrial regions that bring together many companies generating large amounts of pollution in the production and combustion of various materials.
Contaminated air is very dangerous for people, especially for the elderly and the sick, but above all for young children and infants whose respiratory system is not yet well developed. As a result of poor air condition, children inhale unhealthy dust and carcinogenic substances that cause allergies, cardiovascular diseases and increase the risk of cancer and other dangerous diseases. Effective protection of a child against the impact of these dangerous dusts and substances is therefore extremely important at an early stage of child development, who most often moves in a lying or sitting position in a pram run by parents or guardians.
Anti-smog masks with special filters to prevent the entry of harmful dusts into the respiratory system are very well known from the prior art. While this solution works well for young people, adults and the elderly, it is impossible to use such masks for various reasons in the case of infants.
Also known from the prior art are anti-dust and anti-smog screen nets, mounted in doors, windows and ventilation systems, covering the entire surface of the casement, mounted to the window frame with gaskets or fixed removably by Velcro.
A Polish patent application PL143646 discloses a window insert for filtering air, which as a filtering partition is placed in a window opening used for airing rooms, the window insert consisting of light transmitting plates embedded diagonally in the vertical strips of the frame and filter compartments arranged horizontally between the plates.
A Korean patent application KR20100036114A discloses a window screen net with a double filter cover, preventing the entry of impurities and serving as a mosquito net with a rotating roller on the upper frame and a bottom frame comprising a snap groove, so that the cover is blocked.

The above solutions effectively protect closed rooms from harmful dusts, but they will not be used in the open space when there is a need to move freely with the child from place to place.
The purpose of the invention is to develop a solution that will provide an effective barrier against dust and air pollution, ensuring the transport of children in a pram without exposing their health to the effects of harmful weather conditions.
A filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram, according to the invention, adapted to be mounted in different types of prams on a seat in which a child is laid down or seated, comprises a lower part that covers at least partially the seat from the top, and an upper part, wherein the upper part is unfolded and mounted on the part of the seat not covered by the lower part. The cover comprises an at least one filter insert that purifies the polluted air, as well as means for connecting tightly the lower and upper parts to the seat in such a way that the air exchange between the space inside the pram and the outside space occurs essentially through the at least one filter insert.
Preferably, the filter insert is positioned in the middle of the upper part of the filtration cover, transverse to the direction of travel, dividing the upper part into two elements: a first, upper element and a second, lower element mounted on the seat.
Preferably, the filter insert is placed in an opening defined by the free edges of the upper part.
Preferably, the filter insert is placed in an opening defined by the free edges of the lower part.
Preferably, a transparent foil is tightly inserted in the opening defined by the free edges of the upper part.
Preferably, a transparent foil covers half of the opening defined by the free edges of the upper part, and in the second half a filter insert is placed. The transparent foil can be joined to the upper part of the filtration cover with Velcro or zip fasteners.
Preferably, the transparent foil is flexible and made of a thermoplastic, especially PVC.
The filtration cover can be made of a Cordura type textile or a thermoplastic material, especially PVC.
The filtration cover can be placed in a filter pocket in the middle of the upper part of the filtration cover. Preferably, the upper part of the filtration cover is connected to the lower part with zippers. The lower part of the cover may comprise openings allowing the seat belts to be carried through, preferably amounting to four pieces, and an opening allowing the seat belts or the seat belts lock to be fastened, preferably amounting to one piece. The lower part of the filtration cover may also comprise snaps that allow it to be mounted on the pram.
A pram with a seat, according to the invention, comprises a filtration cover as described above.
The invention effectively protects children against the harmful effects of polluted air, trapping most of the harmful fine particles, including the most dangerous suspended dusts PM2.5 and PM10. The filtration cover is also able to stop spreading of mould spores and bacteria, while being very permeable to air and water vapour. Filtering nonwovens do not contain harmful chemicals.

The filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram, is designed to be mounted on a seat of a pram, in which the child is laid down or seated. Preferably, the seat has the form of a popular gondola, in which the infants are transported in a lying position. Such a gondola has a body with a bottom and a most frequently folded upper part called a "booth", which protects against wind and sun. The cover can also be successfully used in pushchairs or children's seats, whose seat allows transport of children in a sitting or lying position.
A filtration cover according to the invention comprises a lower part 5 that covers at least partially the seat from the top, and an upper part 1 , 4, which is unfolded and mounted on the part of the seat not covered by the lower part 5. According to the essence of the invention, such a filtration cover comprises at least one filter insert 2, 6, 7 that purifies the polluted air. When the filter insert 2, 6, 7 is attached to the seat of a pram, it forms a tight barrier between the space inside the pram, where the child is, and the space outside, wherein the air exchange takes place essentially through at least one filter insert 2, 6, 7. It will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that such a combination of a pram seat with a filtration cover must not and in practice often will not be perfectly tight because air can get in to and out of the pram's interior also through small gaps between the connected elements as well as to a certain extent through the material from which the seat or filtration cover are made.
In one of the practical embodiments shown in Fig. 1 , a filter insert 2 is placed in the upper part 1 , 4 of the filtration cover, which filters and purifies air entering the enclosed space within the pram. The filter insert 2 is located in the middle of the upper part 1 , 4, transverse to the direction of travel, dividing the upper part 1 , 4 into two elements: a first, upper element 1 with an opening for the transparent foil 3, and a second, lower element 4 mounted on the seat. It is obvious that the insert can be placed in a different way, e.g. longitudinally to the direction of travel, and so that it does not divide the upper part 1 , 4 into two elements. The filter insert 2 can be connected to the first, upper element 1 and to the second, lower element 4, inseparably by means of threads, welds, or removably by zippers, snaps or magnets. The filter insert 2 can be also placed in a special filter pocket allowing the filter nonwoven to be replaced by unzipping the zipper or unfastening the Velcro. Such a pocket may consist of a frame placed in the notch of the upper part 1 , 4 of the filtration cover. The frame is fitted with two net layers, with an air-purifying filter in between. This solution will enable an easy and quick filter replacement.
In the upper part 1 , 4 of the filtration cover, and specifically in its first, upper element 1 , a flexible and transparent foil 3 is placed, which, due to its transparency, provides light transmission and good visibility. The transparent foil 3 is placed in the opening which is defined by the free edges of the first, upper element 1 , i.e. the edges which are not connected to the seat. The transparent foil 3 is connected to the first, upper element 1 by zippers enabling simple disassembly thereof and access to the child. The transparent foil 3 is made of a thermoplastic, for example PVC.
The upper part 1 , 4 of the filtration cover connects to the lower part 5 by zippers. The lower part 5 of the filtration cover is attached to different types of prams by snaps and together with a soft material and a sponge, it forms a good lining for comfortable use. The lower part 5 of the filtration cover comprises openings through which the seat belts are installed during assembly.
The filtration cover can be made of a textile material, e.g., Cordura.
The use of the above-described filtration cover is shown in various types of prams in Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 4, which show a filtration cover in a gondola, a pushchair, and a car seat pram, respectively.
Fig. 5 and Fig. 6 show a preferred embodiment of a filtration cover mounted on a gondola pram with three filter inserts 2, 6, 7. The first filter insert 2 is located in the middle of the upper portion 1 , 4 of the filtration cover, transversely to the direction of travel, dividing the upper part 1 , 4 into two elements: a first, upper element 1 and a second, lower element 4 mounted on the seat. The second filter insert 6 is placed in the opening which is defined by the free edges of the first, upper element 1 , i.e. the edges which are not connected to the seat. The third filter insert 7, on the other hand, is placed in the opening defined by the free edges of the lower part 5.
In another embodiment, Fig. 7 and Fig. 8 show a filtration cover with two filter inserts 2, 7, and a transparent foil 3. The foil 3 is inserted in the opening which is defined by the free edges of the first, upper element 1 , i.e. the edges that are not connected to the seat. Two filter inserts 2 and 7 are, however, arranged as in the example in Figs. 5 and 6.
In turn, in Fig. 9 and Fig. 10, a cover similar to that of Figs. 5-8 is illustrated, but differing in that the transparent foil 3 covers half of the opening defined by the free edges of the upper part 1 , 4, and in the second half a filter insert 6 is placed.
Fig. 11 shows an embodiment of a filtration cover for a pushchair. This cover comprises a first filter insert 2, as in the previous examples positioned in the middle of the upper part 1 , 4. The second filter insert 7 is placed in the opening which is defined by the free edges of the first, upper element 1 , and then extends over the entire length of the lower part 5 of the filtration cover.
Fig. 12 shows in turn an identical filtration cover as that of Figs. 7 and 8, but for a pushchair, i.e. with two filter inserts 2, 7 and a transparent foil 3.
Fig. 13 shows an identical cover as that of Figs. 5 and 6, i.e. with three filter inserts 2, 6, 7 mounted on a car seat pram, while Fig. 14 shows a cover for a car seat pram which is the same as the cover of Figs. 7 and 8, i.e. with two filter inserts 2, 7 and a transparent foil 3.

A filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram, adapted to be mounted in different types of prams on a seat in which a child is laid down or seated, comprising a lower part (5) that covers at least partially the seat from the top, and an upper part (1 , 4), wherein the upper part (1 , 4) is unfolded and mounted on the part of the seat not covered by the lower part (5), characterised in that it comprises an at least one filter insert (2, 6, 7) that purifies the polluted air, as well as means for connecting tightly the lower (5) and upper (1 , 4) parts to the seat in such a way that the air exchange between the space inside the pram and the outside space occurs essentially through said at least one filter insert (2, 6, 7).
2. The filtration cover according to claim 1 , characterised in that the filter insert (2) is positioned in the middle of the upper part (1 , 4) of the filtration cover, transverse to the direction of travel, dividing the upper part (1 , 4) into two elements: a first, upper element
(1 ), and a second, lower element (4) mounted on the seat.
3. The filtration cover according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the filter insert (6) is placed in an opening defined by the free edges of the upper part (1 , 4).
4. The filtration cover according to claim 1 or 2 or 3, characterised in that the filter insert (7) is placed in an opening defined by the free edges of the lower part (5).
5. The filtration cover according to claim 1 or 2 or 4, characterised in that a transparent foil (3) is tightly inserted in the opening defined by the free edges of the upper part (1 , 4).
6. The filtration cover according to claim 5, characterised in that the transparent foil (3) covers half of the opening defined by the free edges of the upper part (1 , 4), and in the second half a filter insert (6) is placed.
7. The filtration cover, anti-dust protection for a pram, according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the transparent foil (3) is joined to the upper part (1 ) of the filtration cover with Velcro or zip fasteners.
8. The filtration cover according to claim 5 or 6 or 7, characterised in that the transparent foil (3) is flexible and made of a thermoplastic, especially PVC.
9. The filtration cover according to claim 1 , characterised in that the filtration cover is made of a Cordura type textile or a thermoplastic material, especially PVC .
10. The filtration cover according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the filtration cover
(2) can be placed in a filter pocket in the middle of the upper part (1 , 4) of the filtration cover.
11. The filtration cover according to claim 1 , characterised in that the upper part (1 , 4) of the filtration cover is connected to the lower part (5) by zippers.
12. The filtration cover according to claim 1 , characterised in that the lower part (5) of the cover comprises openings allowing the seat belts to be carried through, preferably amounting to four pieces, and an opening allowing the seat belts or the seat belts lock to be fastened, preferably amounting to one piece.
13. The filtration cover according to claim 1 , characterised in that the lower part (5) of the filtration cover comprises snaps that allow it to be mounted on the pram.
14. A pram with a seat, characterised in that it comprises a filtration cover according to any claim from 1 to 13.
