Abstract

A system and method to create customized bundles for a specific service. The customized bundles are created by an operator. A request is sent by a merchant for creation of customized bundles to the aggregator and the aggregator then passes the request to the operator. The operator creates the customized bundles and then passes the bundle IDs to the aggregator. When a user subscribes to the customized bundle then the specific service is accessed by a specific URL or IP address. The operator has a PCRF software (along with other Systems) that controls the data consumption.

Description

A SYSTEM AND METHOD TO CREATE CUSTOMIZED BUNDLES FOR A SPECIFIC SERVICE
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a software installation technology, and particularly relates to a system and a method to create customized bundles for a specific service.
Brief description of drawings
[0002] FIG. 1 Illustrates a flow diagram of a system to create customized bundles
[0003] FIG. 2 Illustrates the subscription flow.
Detailed Description [0004] Fig 1 describes a flow diagram of a method to create a customized bundle.
The method includes the followings steps. In step 11, a request is sent by a merchant to an aggregator for the creation of a customized bundle. In step 13, the request is sent by the aggregator to an operator to create those customized bundles. In step 15, the customized bundle is created by the operator. In step 17, the bundle ID is sent back to the aggregators.
[0005] Fig. 2 explains how the aggregator will receive the requests of subscription to the bundle and filter them to send the valid requests to the operator. The operator will handle those requests from their side, process the request, and revert the results back to the aggregator. PCRF is a real-time software component that operates at the network core and accesses the subscriber’s database and other specialized functions, such as the charging system all of which are in a centralized manner . Whenever a user subscribed to a bundle accesses the link of that service via a specific URL or IP address, the PCRF controls the flow of data consumption to access that specific service only. PCRF queries the Subscriber Profile Repository (SPR) for dynamic information of subscriber and installs the required policies then the subscriber starts consuming the data with continuous tracking in real time from the PCRF.
[0006] According to one aspect of the present invention, there is a provided method for creating customized bundles. The method includes a request sent by the merchant to the aggregator to create customized bundles containing details such as price, list of allowed URLs, Validity, MB rate etc.. The request is then sent to an operator by the aggregator. The customized bundles are then created by the operator and sent back to the aggregator.
[0007] The aggregator receives requests from the users to subscribe to the bundles provided by the merchant. The aggregator filters the requests received from the users and sends the valid requests to the operator. The operator handles that request, updates their database, and sends the results back to the aggregator. Within the operator is the PCRF (policy and charging rules function) software that operates at the network core and accesses the subscribers' database and other specialized functions, such as the charging system all of which are in a centralized manner. The PCRF operates in real time.
[0008] The user is subscribed to a service where the service is related to a customized bundle to access the service. Therefore, the user is configured to access the services related to the customized bundles where the user is subscribed. When a user is subscribed to a customized bundle, the user accesses the link of the service via a specific URL or IP address, the PCRF controls the flow of data consumption to access that specific service only. PCRF queries the Subscriber Profile Repository (SPR) for dynamic information related to the subscriber and installs the required policies, then the subscriber starts consuming the data with continuous tracking in real time from the PCRF.
[0009] According to another aspect of the present invention, there is a system for creating customized bundles, configured to confirm a user to access a service provided by a merchant after validating a request sent by the user to access a link related to the service provided by the merchant.
[0010] The data is synchronized between the operator and the aggregator, in a way whereby the aggregator is informed whenever a user reaches the limit of the subscribed bundle. At this point, the user can choose to either renew the bundle or to buy an Ad-on, depending on the initial agreement upon subscription.
