Description

PRESSURE-TYPE CONNECTION
The present invention refers to a pressure- type connection.
In general, the present invention refers to connections of building elements or parts of machines.
In particular, the present invention refers to pressure-type connections composed of two parts, push-button-like fastening devices, in which the elastic keeping action is obtained by a spring acting on the plane of the fastening device.
In particular, the present invention refers to details made of sheet metals, with at least one recess with a specific shape.
The prior art is given by patent US-B2- 6,773,780, which deals with a self“locking adhesive accessory for the safe disassembling of a connecting component, such as threaded pin on the surface of a substrate. The self-locking accessory comprises a basic device, which carries the connecting component and defines a basic surface adapted to receive a selected hardening adhesive agent, A resilient, pressure-sensitive adhesive element has a first portion carried by the connecting component in a blind side thereof, a second portion fastened to the basic fastening element and a third portion, which extends between the first and the second portions. After the pressed assembling of the basic device with the adhesive agent on the substrate, the connecting component moves for pressing the prima psortion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive element in adherence with the substrate, to allowing pulling the basic device, with a positive force towards the substrate, for the length of polymerization time of the adhesive agent.
Moreover, the prior art is given by patent application US-A1-2011/0016679, dealing with a pressure button comprising a male component, which can be selectively engaged, through a snap action, with a female component comprising an elastic ring, which, under closed button conditions, keeps the male component connected to the female component. The female component comprises a basic structure with a housing seat for the elastic ring. A cover is fastened to the basic structure in order to cover and close, at least partially, the housing seat of the elastic ring.
In many cases, it is necessary or desirable to connect a connecting component or element such as a plaster, a threaded screw or other structure on a supporting substrate. For example, it could be necessary to apply a thin plaster on the skin of a plane or the hull of a boat to repair a hole therein. Alternatively, it can be desirable to assemble a threaded pin or another device on a substrate, for example the windscreen of a car, without requiring a hole in the substrate. In many of these cases, it is necessary that the connecting component is placed on the substrate with a relatively high accuracy, and moreover that a positive force is applied, stressing the connecting component against the substrate at. least for a certain minimum period of time to allow, for example, to harden an adhesive agent such as a hardening epoxy resin or the like, to obtain a substantially optimized and safe bond with the substrate .
On another hand, automatic buttons are used in several ways, for selectively closing or for joining different objects. such as clothes, bags, belts, curtains, boxes and the like, by sewing, riveting, stapling, gluing or other known methods, two corresponding edges of a substrate, which can then be selectively fastened.
Patent US-B2-6, 773, 780 solves the problem of connecting a connecting component or element such as plaster, a threaded screw or other structure on a supporting substrate, while Patent application US-A1-2011/0016679 solves the problem of joining the edges of a substrate of different objects, such as clothes, shoes, bags, belts, curtains, boxes and the like.
An unsolved problem is being able to combine a solution such as that of patent US-B2-6,773,780 with a solution such as that of patent application US-A1-2011/0016679, through gluing or cold welding building elements or parts of machine, with a pressure-type connection composed of two parts, when there is an elastic keeping action obtained by a spring acting on the plane of the fastening device .
Object of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems, by providing a pressure- type connection to allow joining two edges of a substrate of two different objects by using connecting means such as adhesives and threaded or riveted pins .
A further object is providing a pressure-type connection equipped with clinging means to increase the adherence through the different fastening systems as previously mentioned.
The above and other objects and advantages of the invention, as will appear from the following description, are obtained with a pressure-type connection as claimed in Claim 1, Preferred embodiments and non-trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
It is intended that all enclosed claims are an integral part of the present description.
It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can be made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the present invention as appears from the enclosed claims .
The present invention will be better described by some preferred embodiments thereof, provided as a non-limiting example, with reference to the enclosed drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a plan view of an embodiment of the pressure-type connection according to the present invention;
- Figure 2 shows a sectional view along line II-
II of the previous Figure;
- Figure 3 shows a plan view of a first part of the pressure-type connection according to the present invention;
- Figure 4 shows a sectional view along line IV-
IV of the previous Figure;
- Figure 5 shows a plan view of a second part of the pressure-type connection according to the present invention; and
- Figure 6 shows a sectional view along line VI-
VI of the previous Figure.
With reference to Figures 1 and 2, it is possible to note that a pressure-type connection according to the present invention comprises a male component 1 selectively engaged in a female component 2 through a snap action of an elastic ring 3.
Advantageously, the male component 1 and the female component 2 are fastened to a respective supporting device 11, 21. Such supporting devices 11, 21 allow receiving connecting means to a surface of a respective substrate.
With reference to Figures 3 to 6, it is possible to note that the supporting device 11, 21 comprises a plurality of holes 12, 22,
Alternatively or in combination, the supporting device 11, 21 comprises a plurality of clews (not shown) and a not drilled plane base (not shown) .
According to a first embodiment, the supporting device 11, 21 is fastened to the surface of a substrate through a hardenable adhesive substance .
According to another embodiment, the supporting device 11, 21 is fastened to the surface of a substrate through screws or riveted pins or other connecting systems such as welding, sewing, etc .
The supporting device 11 supports a male projecting element 13.
With reference to Figure 4, such male projecting element 13 comprises a projecting section 14 adapted to axially slide the deformed elastic ring 3 and an undercut section 15 adapted to receive the elastic ring 3 in parallel to the surface of the substrate.
The supporting device 21 supports a female projecting element 23.
With reference to Figure 6, such female projecting element 23 comprises a curved section 24 for stably housing the elastic ring 3 and allowing the deformation of the elastic ring 3 in parallel with the surface of the substrate.
According to a preferred embodiment, the male projecting element 13 and the femstle projecting element 23 are of an axial-symmetric shape, obtained as molded sheet metal or through other working processes and welded to their respective supports .11 , 21.
The pressure-type connection can comprise an elastic element of the OR type, not shown in the Figures, to reduce vibration and backlashes.
The pressure-type connection of the present invention allows obtaining the pre-set objects.
The pressure-type connection is formed of a male and female button, made of metal or not, with a snap closure and a variable disconnecting force, joined to a small base plate having variable shape, such as holed, plane, clewed, adapted to be fastened onto the receiving material. Such pressure-type button is of the snap type, fastened onto a holed plate to be applied onto the receiving material through screws, glues, adhesive, threads.
The pressure-type connection provides for a small base plate and a fastening device shapes as pin or bush, offering ideal solutions for fasteners suitable for composite materials. The system is assembled through annealing, upon moulding, or through gluing of the base plate itself. The various shapes of the base plate offer flexibility when applying it onto the substrate.
The male component and the female component are fastened to a respective supporting device, which allows joining two surfaces belonging to the substrate of two objects.
The supporting device has a shape which is suitable for receiving connecting means to a surface of a respective substrate. In particular, a plurality of holes allow improving the adhesion force, creating the foothold for a hardenable adhesive substance.
Alternatively, such plurality of holes are used to fasten the supporting device to the surface through screws or rivets or a thread.
