Definitions
- Invention relates to baskets consisting of lid and cage sections storing endoscopy device parts (piston, valve etc.) in disinfection set during disinfection treatment
- E ndoscopy is one of the examination methods used for imaging internal body.
- An endoscopy device contains many medical devices and medical tools. Parts of devices and tools used in an operation are disinfected and re-used in next operation. The parts are stored in cleaning fluid in endoscopy disinfection set Disinfection baskets are used to place the parts in the disinfection set. T he parts intended to be disinfected are placed into disinfection basket and the disinfection basket is placed in the disinfection set.
- T he lid part of the baskets available in the related art is manufactured in concave form. In such case the area of parts placed in the basket is covered by curved volume of cover. P roduction of lid in curved form makes production of basket difficult and increases production costs. In addition, efficient use of the space in the basket is prevented.
- T he patent document numbered T R 2013/06137 at Turkish Patent and T rademark Office discloses a method to protect disinfection of medical endoscopes again.
- the main purpose is to store the medical equipment at the desired disinfection level in controlled biostatic medium in the sealed section thereafter.
- the chamber used in the method where the endoscopy equipment is placed has sealed locking. After the chamber is sealed, it cannot be opened. For that reason, it is not possible to put any forgotten parts. S uch forgotten parts are to be put in another chamber.
- T he invention is a new disinfection basket surpassing the state of art eliminating the disadvantages and additionally containing extra advantages.
- the purpose of the invention is to disclose a new disinfection basket which can be opened and closed without breaking, in respect to mistakes that might occur during use.

- Mounting pin (1 1 ) is associated with the pin hole (21 ) provided on the cage (20).
- S ide surface of the lid (10) contains a handle (12). When the mounting pin (1 1 ) is held from the handle (12) and rotated in direction A, it rotates within pin hole (21 ) and the lid opens, and if it is rotated in direction B, the mounting pin (1 1 ) rotates in direction B within pin hole (21 ) and the lid (10) closes.
- T he clamp (13) provided on the front section of lower surface of the lid (10) sits into the housing (22) provided on the cage (20) and, cage (20) and the lid (10) interlock.
- the lid (10) consists of spaces (23) distributed homogeneously so that the disinfection fluid contacts the parts.
- T he cage (20) disclosed under the invention contains a pin hole (21 ) on rear section of upper surface where the mounting pin (1 1 ) sits and performs rotation movement.
- the side surface of the cage (20) has a housing (22) where the clamp (13) sits and locks the lid (10) and the cage (20).
- the cage (20) side surfaces and lower surface consists of spaces (23) distributed homogeneously so that the disinfection fluid contacts the parts.
- the connection chain (24) provided on the cage (20) provides fitting the basket (1 ) to the endoscopy hanger (30).
- the connection chain (24) has the chain buckles (24.1 ) located on one end and locking apparatus (24.2) on the other end.
- Locking apparatus (24.2) contains the insertion space (24.3) and the lock space (24.4).
- C onnection chain (24) serves as adjustable hanger providing hanging the basket (1 ) onto set hanger (30) in an adjustable tightness.
- T he disinfection basket (1 ) disclosed under the invention is used to disinfect the parts used in endoscopy. T he parts intended to be disinfected are placed into the basket (1 ). After the parts are placed in the cage (20), the lid (10) is sealed and thereafter, it is inserted to endoscopy set hanger (30) by use of connection chain (24).
- F igure 1 shows the lid (10) and the cage (20) on each other but separate from each. Then the mounting pin (1 1 ) is seated onto the pin hole (21 ) and thus mounting of the cage (20) and lid (10) is provided. ( Figure -2)
- F igure 3 shows the position where the lid (10) is sealed onto the cage (20).
- the mounting pin (1 1 ) provided under the lid (10) rotates in the pin hole (21 ) and the lid (10) opens. T he lid (10) is opened in this way and the parts intended to be disinfected are placed into the cage (20).
- F igure 4 shows the status when the lid (10) is open. In this status when it is rotated 180 degrees in direction B, the lid (10) is closed as a result of rotation of the mounting pin (1 1 ) in pin hole (21 ) again.
- F igure 7 shows the locking mechanism between the cage (20) and the lid (10).
- the clamp (13) provided on the lid (10) is seated into the housing (22) located on the cage (20)
- the lid (10) and the cage (20) are locked and can not be opened spontaneously.
- clamp (13) is seated into the housing (22) and the lid (10) and the cage (20) are locked.
- F igure 9 shows the status before the basket (1 ) is placed in the endoscopy set.
- two ends of the connection chain (24) are opened and passed around the set hanger (30).
- T hen the chain buckles (24.1 ) are inserted as shown in F igure 1 1 in the insertion space (24.3) located in the locking apparatus (24.2).
- locking operation is achieved by means of pushing between two chain buckles (24.1 ) into lock space (24.4). Locking operation is considerably simple and safe.
- the user opens both ends of the chain connection (24) and put connection chain (24) around set hanger.
- C hain buckles (24.1 ) are passed through locking apparatus (24.2) via the insertion space (24.3) provided thereon and when adequate tightening is achieved, pushed into lock space (24.4) between the two chain buckles (24.1 ) and thus the basket (1 ) is locked to endoscopy set hanger (30).
- the connection chain (24) When the connection chain (24) is in locked position, the user pushes the chain buckles (24.1 ) to the insertion space (24.3) provided in the locking apparatus (24.2) and opens the connection chain (24) from both ends and releases the set from the hanger.
- T he lid (10) disclosed under the invention is of a linear and flat structure. It does not contain any curves in its structure. F or that reason, the parts are only located into the volume inside the cage (20) in the basket (1 ). F lat structure of lid (10) facilitates method for production of the lid (10) and decreases production costs. In addition, dead space in the cage (20) is reduced and the space has been made functional.
