Description

HEAT-INSULATING DOOR OR WINDOW
A heat-insulating hinged panel, such as door or window, comprising a frame made of interconnected longitudinal frame members and a sash made of interconnected longitudinal sash members, which is hingedly disposed within the frame and embeds a glass pane assembly, wherein at least one glass pane having the external surface coplanar with the external surface of the external pane of the pane assembly is fixed to the frame.
Background of the Invention
Hinged panels of this type are usually used in buildings fagades ensuring deeper penetration of natural light within the building.
In order to improve heat-insulation, as well as to achieve a good modem aesthetic appearance door or window assemblies have been proposed in the prior art comprising glass pane assemblies in which a pane of a glass pane assembly extends beyond the periphery of a sash forming a projection that abuts an internal surface of a frame and thus covers the space between the sash and the frame.
Exemplary window or door assemblies of this type are disclosed in patent applications EP3228795 or EP3002403.
Nonetheless such window or door assemblies feature relatively complicated construction and may not be produced using typical commercially available glass pane assemblies of a rectangular box shape being de facto standard in the market.
It has been the object of the present invention to provide a hinged panel which would feature a simple construction with small amount of distinctive elements, good heat- insulation, which would be economical in production, simple to assembly and which would reduce thermal bridging and feature a modem aesthetic appearance.
Summary of the Invention
Therefore, a hinged panel of the kind mentioned in the outset, according to the present invention is characterized in that said glass pane assembly is secured to the sash by means of longitudinal profiled members fixed to the sash and having projections introduced into the glass pane assembly at the perimeter thereof, so that the external surface of the external glass pane of the glass pane assembly is the most external surface of the sash, and said at least one glass pane fixed to the frame at least partially covers the sash.
Preferably said glass pane assembly has a rectangular box shape and comprises a number of glass panes separated at their perimeters with an elastomeric spacing insulation, while said projections of said longitudinal profiled members are pushed inside said spacing insulation.
Preferably said glass pane assembly is disposed in an undercut of the sash.
Preferably the frame is provided with an undercut in which at least one heat- insulating profiled sealing member cooperating with the sash is disposed.
Preferably said glass panes are fixed to the frame by means of longitudinal profiled support members.
The support members press the sealing member at the other side of the undercut.
Preferably the panel further comprises an external frame sealing fixed to the support member of the frame and cooperating with an external sash sealing fixed to the fixing profiled member of the sash.
Preferably the panel further comprises a main pad sealing fixed to the sealing member and cooperating with the sash.
Preferably the panel further comprises an internal pad sealing fixed to the frame and cooperating with the sash.
Preferably said glass pane assembly of the sash and/or said glass panes the frame is/are provided inside with a masking painted surface.
The hinged panel according to the present invention has a simple structure and its assembly consists of only a few simple steps. It reduces the width of the gap between the frame and sash and thus prevents thermal bridging, minimizes exposure of the sash to negative atmospheric influences and prevents accumulation of dirt and dust in the area of contact between the frame and the sash. The invention may be implemented using typical, commercially available glass pane assemblies, as no peripheral projections that could be broken in an open state of the sash or during closing the sash are present.
Brief description of drawings
The invention shall be described and explained below with reference to an exemplary embodiment and in connection with the attached drawings on which:
Fig. 1 schematically illustrates an embodiment of a door of the present invention in a front view;
Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the door along any of the planes A-A of Fig. 1 , and
Fig. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the door along the plane B-B of Fig. 1. Detailed description of preferred embodiments
A heat-insulating hinged panel shown in Figs. 1 to 3 has a form of a door and comprises a frame 1 made of four longitudinal wooden frame profiled members and a sash 3 made of four longitudinal wooden sash profiled members fixed with each other in a manner known to those skilled in the art. The sash 3 is hingedly disposed within the frame 1 and embeds a multi-chamber glass pane assembly 10.
In this embodiment glass pane assembly 10 have a triple-glazed (or dual-chamber) construction comprising three glass panes separated at their perimeters with spacing lathes 21 distancing the panes with respect to each other, and an elastomeric spacing insulation 22 filling the spaces behind the spacing lathes 21 at the perimeters of the panes, in order to fix and insulate the internal spaces between them. To improve an aesthetic impression of the glass pane assembly 10, a surface 11 painted with a ceramic paint masks the lathes 21 and the insulation 22 from the outside.
As shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, the sash 3 has a recess or an undercut 20 with two substantially orthogonal surfaces which is provided on a surface parallel to the glass pane assembly 10 with an additional silicone sealant 4 and a groove holding a longitudinal sealing 5, and on a bottom horizontal surface perpendicular to the glass pane assembly 10 with a support plate 19. The glass pane assembly 10 has been laid down during the assembly process on the support plate 19 and pressed to the sealing 5 and the additional silicone sealant 4.
A hook- or d-shaped aluminium fixing longitudinal profiled member 18 is screwed to the front external surface 27 of the sash 3 at the edge of the undercut 20 by means of a number of screws 25 distanced with respect to each other along the longitudinal axis of the sash 3 profiled member. The fixing member 18 has a longitudinal projection substantially parallel to the glass pane assembly 10 that is introduced into the glass pane assembly 10 at the perimeter thereof, thus permanently fixing the glass pane assembly 10 inside the sash 3. In this embodiment the projection of the fixing member 18 is pushed inside the elastomeric spacing insulation 22 of the glass pane assembly 10. Thanks to that the external surface of the glass pane 26 of the glass pane assembly 10 is also the most external surface of the whole sash 3.
As shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, also the frame 1 has an undercut 23 with two substantially orthogonal surfaces in which a heat-insulating profiled sealing member 2 is disposed. The heat-insulating member 2 is in this embodiment made of purenit® polyurethane product on rigid foam made by puren gmbh Germany. A å-shaped aluminium profiled support member 17 is screwed to the frame 1 at the edge of the undercut 23 by means of a number of screws 25 distanced with respect to each other along the longitudinal axis of the frame 1 profiled member. The support member 17 presses the heat-insulating member 2 at the other side of the undercut 23, parallel to the glass pane assembly 10 thus holding the member 2 in place.
Four longitudinal rectangular glass panes 12 (cf. Fig. 1) are fixed to the external sides of the support members 17, each by means of two strips of a double-sided adhesive tape 14 and a strip of a silicone sealant 15. An additional strip of a silicone sealant 16 is provided ate the top and side edges of the heat-insulating hinged panel between the glass panes 12 and an additional longitudinal edge member 24. Similarly as in the case of the glass pane assembly 10, to improve an aesthetic impression of the glass pane 12 a surface 13 painted with a ceramic paint masks the support member 17, the tape 14, the sealant 15 and all the other elements behind the pane 12 from the outside. A sealing assembly comprising four sets of four longitudinal elastomeric sealings seals the sash 3 within the frame 1. The assembly comprises a main pad sealing 6 and an internal pad sealing 7, as well as an external frame sealing 8, and an external sash sealing 9.
The main pad sealing 6 is disposed inside a groove of the heat-insulating member 2 extending in a plane parallel to the glass pane assembly 10 and cooperates with the sash 3. Similarly the internal pad sealing 7 is disposed inside a groove at the edge of the frame and cooperates with the sash 3. The external frame sealing 8 is disposed within a groove of the support member 17 of the frame 1 and cooperates with the external sash sealing 9 disposed within a groove of the fixing profiled member 18 of the sash 3.
The external surface of the external pane 26 of the pane assembly 10 of the sash 3 and the external surfaces of the panes 12 of the frame 1 are coplanar with each other while the hinged panel is in its closed position. The width of the support members 17 may be accordingly adjusted to provide appropriate spacing and coplanar arrangement between the external pane 26 and the panes 12. The gap between the panes 12 and the external pane 26 has also been reduced in order to prevent thermal bridging of the hinged panel.
The above embodiments of the present invention are merely exemplary. The figures are not necessarily to scale, and some features may be exaggerated or minimized. These and other factors however should not be considered as limiting the spirit of the invention, the intended scope of protection of which is indicated in appended claims.
