A semiautomatic gun for signalling and alarm flare ammunitions or for hunting sport ammunitions which preferably uses gauge 12 ammunitions and its derivatives provided with an advantageous insertion system for inserting the ammunitions into a breech recess located at the rearmost part of the gun, the ammunition being pushed and accommodated in the breech recess in line with the slide.
Description
SEMIAUTOMATIC GUN FOR SIGNALLING AND ALARM FLARE
AMMUNITIONS OR HUNTING SPORT AMMUNITIONS
TECHNICAL FIELD
A common semiautomatic weapon for signalling and alarm flare ammunitions or hunting sport ammunitions loadable with 12-gauge, non- lethal ammunitions featuring a high deterrent power and its derivatives for use in smooth-bore and rifled-bore shotguns and guns. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The gun according to the present invention is a semiautomatic gun which preferably uses 12-gauge ammunitions and their derivatives.
The gun according to the present invention is structurally a common semiautomatic gun which, specifically, comprises a slide, an ejector, a frame, a magazine, a barrel, a hammer, and a body.
The gun according to the present invention is provided with an advantageous insertion system for inserting the ammunitions into the breech recess located at the rearmost part of the gun, every ammunition being pushed and accommodated in the magazine at the rearmost part of the gun either in line with the slide or alternatively through a side slot on a side of the gun. Said ammunition is pushed into the magazine until a specifically developed ammunition non-return device operates.
The possibility of inserting each individual ammunition into the breech recess benefits from the advantage of being capable of positioning an ammunition to be used, i.e. to be fired, at the end of the barrel. Such
positioning of the ammunition has the advantage of being capable of fully exploiting the entire length of the barrel, the gun according to the present invention featuring a long range as compared to the known guns having the same barrel length, as experimentally observed.
The above-described ammunition loading system also has the advantage of putting a user in the conditions of selecting the type of ammunition to be used quickly.
Think to the case of a user who loaded the magazine of the gun with 12-gauge bird-shot cartridges. Should the user need to change the type of ammunition quickly, having to signal his/her own position because nightfall turned up or because he/she got lost, the user might clear one or more positions in the magazine and load the gun with one or more shots of a different type of ammunition, for instance with signalling or alarm flare ammunitions.
The advantageous rear loading of the gun according to the present invention makes it possible to adopt an advantageous hammer featuring a saddle shaped lower section to provide a free central space for the vertical movement of the ammunitions. The movement of the hammer is free irrespective of whether the gun is loaded or unloaded, and a safety blocking condition is established during the firing step, the slide being almost totally retracted and the push rod of the ammunition, described below, being in its operating step.
The possibility of exploiting the position of the ammunition in the breech recess, at the rear end of the gun, makes it possible to equip such gun with a dynamic ejector which includes a small cylinder inserted into a
guide of the frame of the gun. The dynamic ejector is moved by the slide of the gun being retracted, during the firing step, by way of a push rod present in the slide. Said dynamic ejector is a dynamic element integral with the gun according to the present invention, unlike the ejectors of the known guns, which makes the ejector of the present invention advantageously less cumbersome with respect to the ejectors of known guns. The movement of the ejector shall be damped with respect to the remaining parts of the gun. Such damping is obtained by way of a pair of first and second elastic elements positioned at each of the ends of the mentioned small cylinder of the ejector.
The ejector stroke can be adjusted according to the user’s requirements by way of an adjustable screw operatable by the user himself/herself.
As described above, the gun according to the present invention is provided with a magazine which is preferably longitudinally placed beside the barrel and the slide. The position of the magazine makes it advantageously possible for it to operates as a spring guide rod for the movement of the barrel and of the slide of the gun.
All guns shall be provided with a gun closing system after firing. In the gun according to the present invention, said closing system takes advantage of the position of the magazine. Said closing is implemented by a pair of springs placed around the magazine. Said pair of springs placed around the magazine advantageously better stabilizes the alignment of the gun upon firing, as compared to the known guns. Such improved alignment has been ascertained by a computer aided simulation by
comparing the stabilization of the gun according to the present invention upon firing to that of the known guns.
The gun according to the present invention is also provided with a device used to bring the ammunition to be fired, referred to as “first ammunition” for the purposes of the present disclosure, from the breech recess to the input of the barrel. Such device comprises a vertical slide internally to the frame of the gun. Said vertical slide is provided with a cradle suitable for moving said first ammunition from the breech recess to the input of the barrel.
Having positioned the first ammunition at the input of the barrel, a second ammunition takes the place of the first ammunition in the breech recess, a spring being present at a front end of the magazine to push the ammunitions towards the breech recess in the rear part of the gun. Continuing with the operation, the gun according to the present invention, being a semiautomatic gun, shall be provided with a device which operates onto the second ammunition in order for it to be ready to take the place on the first ammunition at the input of the barrel after the first ammunition is fired and its case is ejected. Such device is a platform balance connected to the slide. Said platform balance is provided with a third elastic element suitable for retaining said second ammunition in the cradle of the above-mentioned slide.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The following figures show the main elements of the gun according to the present invention.
Figures 1 is shows a slide (1 ), a frame (3), a magazine (4), a barrel (5), a hammer (6), and a body (7).
Figure 2 shows an ejector (2), an ammunition (8) which is advantageously loaded in a breech recess (9) of the frame (3) at the rearmost part of the gun, said ammunition (8) being pushed and accommodated in said breech recess (9) in line with the slide (1 ).
Figure 3 shows the hammer (6) of the gun, the lower part (61) of which is cradle-shaped to provide a free central space for the vertical movement of the ammunition. The movement of the hammer is free irrespective of whether the gun is loaded or unloaded, and a safety locking situation is established while the gun is fired, the slide being almost totally retracted.
Figure 4 shows the dynamic ejector (2) used to eject the ammunition (8), which comprises a small cylinder (21) coupled in line with an elastic element (121) inserted in a guide (11 ) of the frame (3) of the gun and the slide (1 ) provided with a push rod (12) for moving the dynamic ejector (2) provided with the heel (22), the slide (1 ) being retracted during the firing step or upon a user’s manual action, said heel (22) being positioned in such a way as to stop the stroke of the ammunition (8) upon getting in contact with the side central section (F) of the bottom of said ammunition (8). A screw (13) makes it possible to adjust the stroke of the ejector (2) according to the user’s requirements, by acting onto the elastic element (122), said screw (13) being operatable by the user.
A retraction of the slide (1 ) entails: (a) a simultaneous retraction of: (i) the push rod (12), which compresses the elastic element (121); (ii) the
ejector (2); the ammunition (8); b) a compression of the elastic element (22). In the final step of the stroke of the slide (1 ), the push rod (12), the ejector (2), and the ammunition (8), the ejector (2) terminates its own stroke in advance with respect to the slide (1 ), the push rod (12), the elastic element (121), and the ammunition (8) by virtue of the total compression of the elastic element (122). It follows that the ammunition (8), and in particular the side central section (F) of the bottom of said ammunition (8), continues its stroke and gets in contact with the heel (22) of the ejector (2) which is still with respect to said ammunition (8) and consequently the ammunition (8) is expelled by virtue of the principle of composition of forces.
Figure 5 shows a pair of first and second elastic damping elements (121 and 122) positioned at each of the ends of the small cylinder (21) of the ejector (2), being it necessary to damp the movement of the ejector with respect to the remaining parts of the gun.
Figure 6 shows a pair of springs (41 and 42) placed around the magazine (4) and the barrel (5) for closing the gun after firing and suitable for stabilizing the alignment of the gun upon firing.
Figure 7 shows a vertical slide (14) equipped in the frame (3), not shown in the figure, with a cradle (141) suitable for moving a first ammunition (81) from the breech recess (9), not shown in the figure, to the input (Y) of the barrel (5).
Figure 8 shows the slide (1 ) provided with a platform balance (15) and a third elastic element (16) suitable for retaining a second ammunition (82) in the cradle (141), not shown in the figure and present in figure 7, of
the vertical slide (14), graphically shown cross sectioned.
Claims
1. A semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions comprising a slide (1 ), an ejector (2), a frame (3), a magazine (4), a barrel (5), a hammer (6), and a body (7) characterized in that every ammunition (8) is loaded in the breech recess (9) at the rearmost part of the gun, said ammunition (8) being pushed and accommodated in said breech recess (9) in line with the slide (1 ).
2. The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or sports ammunitions according to claim 1 characterized in that the lower part (61) of the hammer (6) is cradle-shaped.
3. The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 1 characterized in that it is provided with a dynamic ejector (2) which comprises a small cylinder (21) inserted in a guide (11 ) of the frame (3) of the gun.

The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 3 characterized in that the slide (1 ) is provided with a push rod (12) coupled in line with a first elastic element (121) for moving the dynamic ejector (2) equipped with a heel (22) for expelling the ammunition upon retraction of the slide (1 ).

The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 3 characterized in that a pair of first and second damping elastic elements (121 and 122) are positioned at each of the ends of the small cylinder (21) of the ejector (2).

The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 3 characterized in that a screw (13) makes it possible to adjust the stroke of the ejector (2) according to the user’s requirements, by acting onto the second element (122), said screw (13) being operatable by the user.
7. The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 1 characterized in that the spring guide rod of the gun is the magazine (4) longitudinally placed beside the barrel (5) and the slide (1 )·
8. The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or sport hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 7 characterized in that the closing system used to close the gun after firing is a pair of springs (41 and 42) placed around the magazine (4).

The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm flare or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 1 characterized in that the frame (3) is provided with a vertical slide (14) provided with a cradle (141) suitable for moving a first ammunition (81) from the breech recess (9) to the input (Y) of the barrel (5).
10. The semiautomatic gun for signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm flare ammunitions or signaling and alarm or hunting sport ammunitions according to claim 10 characterized in that the slide (1 ) is provided with a platform balance (15) provided with a third elastic element (16) suitable for retaining in position a second ammunition (82) in the cradle (141) of the vertical slide.
