The invention is related to a secure sale and consumption method which provides for checking all the food or non-food products, primarily food products, whose expiration date have an importance; selling only the suitable products and in the case that the safe usage status of the product changes upon deciding to collect or recall the product from its location in the supply chain, real-time monitoring of the same in the entire supply chain from production to consumption, by performing the necessary updates/changes in the databank.

Description

A Method Providing the Secure Sale and Consumption of Products
Technical Field
The invention is related to a secure sale and consumption method which provides for checking all the food or non-food products, primarily food products, whose expiration date have an importance; selling only the suitable products and in the case that the safe usage status of the product changes upon deciding to collect or recall the product from its location in the supply chain, real-time monitoring of the same in the entire supply chain from production to consumption, by performing the necessary updates/changes in the databank.
Prior Art
Today, according to the law and international standards, selling the products which have expired or which are deemed to be unsafe constitute a crime and in the case of determining that products in such conditions are sold or kept in rack storage, severe administrative and criminal actions are taken.
When foods of animal origin, such as meat/meat products and milk/milk products, pastry products, frozen foods and medications, and related products are past their expiration date, they can be dangerous for health reasons if they are consumed, considering the physical and chemical degradation risks the products may have faced. In addition, the functionality of the detergents, cosmetics and makeup supplies, paints and industrial oils, adhesives, construction chemicals and materials which have expired may not be at the desired level guaranteed by the manufacturer.
In the present technique, the production and expiration date of the products are printed on labels or packages at the production facilities in the way that the consumers will be able to observe and check the same, as required by the product safety rules. This is necessary for the consumer to check whether the product is not a health risk or usable without using its functionality safely. However, the consumers generally choose based on the brand and price of the product and do not wish to spend time to inspect other details. Considering the acts and operations in the procedure of having the products on the shelf for sale, consumers taking and bringing the same to the cashier/payment point and delivery of the products together with the consumer habits, it is known that expired products are sold and received by the consumer and used. The sellers usually attempt to sell out the products in their stocks closest to the expiration date and align these products on the shelves in the way that the consumers will reach them in the easiest way. This causes the expired products to stay on the self especially because some consumers change the place of the products on the shelves during their inspection.
It is also a considerable problem that the expiration date on the products becomes invisible due to reasons such as wearing out or abrasion, and the typing and pattern of the writing is different. Especially in the case that the writing is worn out and became unreadable, there is no alternative method to get information on the product and for this reason, returning and disposing of the product is necessary. In addition, criminal action is taken in the case of detection by the related public authority. This action causes a considerable revenue loss and creates an important problem for the firms in terms of protecting brand image and customer satisfaction.
Operations related to the products in supermarkets and stores are generally carried out under the responsibility of the selling point other than the brand owners and the operations are carried out over the standard product barcodes. The standard product barcodes are matched with the product name and price at the selling points and defined within software and registered. The sale is performed by reading the product barcode with the barcode reader at the cash register/payment point and receiving the amount after detecting the name and price from the software. Because of the limitations on the standard product barcode, it is not possible for the barcode system which performs the sales operation to track information such as the expiration date and stop the sale of unsuitable products. That is because singularizing the product with the standard barcode used for the products (separating them with the specific identification method even though they have the same barcode number) is not possible; hence it is not possible to separate the problematic ones from the suitable ones.
Operations of the brand owners such as recalling, collection and destruction are generally performed as a result of the decisions made by the administration related to the supervision of the product compliance. In the case that as a result of an administrative decision or detection of that the product is not suitable for consuming, the sellers are obliged to stop the sale of the subject products immediately and the brand owners to complete the related procedures to recall the product from the market. There is no system directed at the sale of safe-to-use products only and continuation of consumption.
As a result, due to the problems described above and the insufficiency of the present solutions on the subject, an improvement in the related technical field is required. Purpose of the Invention
The invention is inspired by the present state and aims to solve the problems described above.
The main purpose of the invention is to provide for checking the expiration dates of the products during the sale, detecting the expired products which are not suitable to sell or to be present in stock, unsuitable for consumption, and taking out the products which are unsafe to use.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide specific marking on the products during packaging and performing the singularization/identification by matching all the related product information (origin, manufacturer, brand, product barcode and pictures, product content, production-expiration dates, instructions for use) with this specific marking and registering the information in the data bank.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide a real-time monitoring in the entire supply chain from the production to consumption by providing the necessary updates/changes in the data bank according to the status of the product at its location in the supply chain (collection or recalling).
Another purpose of the invention is to perform the sale of the products whose status are suitable by inquiry in the data bank thanks to specific marking on the products being readable by means of barcode reading devices or smart devices, during the sale.
In order to fulfill the purposes described above, the invention is a method which provides for the sale of the products by checking their expiration dates and comprises the procedure steps of; positioning the indicator comprising the serial number of the products and/or QR code on the product, performing the identification by matching the indicator with the product information, registering the data in the server data bank, communicating with the server by scanning the indicator by means of the reader, inquiry of the product expiration date in the data base of the server.
The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all the advantages will be understood clearly thanks to the figures below and the detailed description provided by means of making references to these figures and for this reason, the evaluation should be made in consideration of these figures and the detailed description.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the system which provides for controlling the expiration date during the sale, which is the subject of the invention, and the preferred embodiments of the method are described only for the better understanding of the subject.
In the flow diagram 1 given below, the procedure steps of the method providing the control of the expiration date during the sale are shown.

A marking is placed on the product (indicator (1 )) at the product manufacturing facilities, usually after the packing and packaging of the final products. This indicator (1 ) can be a serial number and/or QR code printed on the product packaging by means of the printing method or a special label comprising a serial number and/or QR code, adhered to the product packaging. The procedure performed at this point is a specific marking and the indicator (1 ) given to each product comprises a specific serial number and/or QR code. Identification is made by matching the information such as the product manufacturer, production date, expiration date, weight, picture and instructions for use with this specific indicator (1 ). While performing the identification, the indicator (1 ) may be scanned to a reader (3) or the specific serial number may be registered in the data bank (4.1 ). All the information is registered in a server (4) data bank (4.1 ).
At any place or time in which the product is present in the market, at the selling points or after the purchase, when the indicator (1 ) on the product is scanned by the mobile device (2), the application (2.1 ) communicates with the data bank (4.1 ) of the server (4) and product inquiry is performed. It is controlled whether the product is suitable for consumption through this application (2.1 ). Same procedures may be carried out by means of the reader (3) in the cash register at the time of sale. The indicator (1 ) is scanned by the reader (3) and the inquiry may be performed from the data bank (4.1 ) in the server (4) thanks to the software uploaded to the cash register. In addition, thanks to the software uploaded to the cash register, it can be directly established that the product is past its expiration date. This way, the sale of the unsuitable products is stopped and prevented and it is provided that the products unsuitable for consumption are taken off the shelves. This reader (3) can be a barcode or QR code reader. By means of the periodical programs organized by the related legal authorities as required by the product safety rules, samples are taken in the market, primarily from food products, cosmetics and cleaning supplies, toys, stationery and school materials, textile products, electrical appliances etc., and product safety analyses are performed in the laboratory. In the case that the product is deemed to be unsuitable for consumption as a result of the compliance inspections performed on these products, the product is decided to be recalled and even destroyed. At this point, it is obligatory to recall and destroy all the products in the same batch with this product detected to be unsuitable. Since the subject system registers all the products in the data bank (4.1 ) at the identification stage, in the case that the products are deemed to be unsuitable during the time they are present in the market, their status in the data bank (4.1 ) are changed to unsuitable for sale/consumption by means of the server (4) and their manufacture is stopped.

Claims

1. A method which provides products to be sold by checking their expiration dates during the sale, characterized by comprising procedure steps of;
❖ positioning the indicator (1 ) comprising the product’s serial number and/or QR code on the product,
❖ performing the identification by matching said indicator (1 ) with the product information,
❖ registering said information to a server (4) data bank (4.1 ),
❖ communicating with said server (4) by scanning said indicator (1 ) by means of a reader
(3),
❖ inquiring the product expiration date in said data base (4.1 ) of said server (4).
2. The method according to Claim 1 ; further comprising a procedure step of said indicator (1 ) being positioned on the product by means of being printed by a printing method.
3. The method according to Claim 1 ; further comprising a procedure step of said indicator (1 ) being positioned on the product by a labeling method.
4. The method according to Claim 1 ; further comprising procedure steps of;
❖ scanning said indicator (1 ) by means of a mobile device (2),
❖ communicating with said server (4) by means of the application (2.1 ) uploaded to said mobile device (2),
❖ inquiring the product expiration data in said data base (4.1 ) of said server (4).
5. The method according to Claim 1 ; further comprising a procedure step of registering the information that the same is not suitable for sale in said data bank (4.1 ) by means of said server (4), when the products are detected to be unsuitable for consumption.
