Abstract
The present invention provides a simple and easy to handle back supporting device (100) for a motor vehicle seat that is integrated with a backpack (50). The 5 back supporting device (100) consists of a first member (20) embedded vertically within the back pack (50), a lumbar support (10) coupled to the first member (20), and a second member (30) configured perpendicular to the first member (20) hinged together by at least one helical or torsion spring (32). The helical/torsion spring (32) configured at the hinged joint provides necessary suspension to enable 10 the first member (20) to move fore and aft independently of the other end. The back support device (100) is varied in design to adjust for all type of bike seats and rider comfort.
Description
BACK SUPPORT DEVICE INTEGRATED WITH BACKPACK FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to a back support for a motor vehicle seat, and more particularly to a back supporting device for a motor vehicle seat that is integrated 5 with backpack.
Background of the invention:
It is desired to achieve a most possible comfortable, ergonomic seating position with motor vehicle seats. Currently, it's a practice to mount a back rest in a fixed position adjacent the rearward portion of an elongate longitudinally extending seat 10 on a motorcycle. Such a seat may be used only by a passenger and not the rider who is guiding and operating the motorcycle.
Accordingly, there exists a need to provide a back supporting device for a rider of the motor vehicle which overcomes above-mentioned drawbacks.
Summary of the Invention
15 The present invention provides a back support device integrated with backpack for a motor vehicle seat comprising a first member embedded vertically within the backpack, a second member configured perpendicular to the first member and is hinged together, a lumber support member configured within a backpack that is coupled to the vertical support, a helical/torsion spring configured inside the
20 second member and a plurality of clamps configured at lower portion of the backpack. In an embodiment, the first member having a spring configured therein and is larger than the second member. The second member is configured with a torsion spring inside that is enabled with a locking mechanism with upward movement lock wherein the torsion spring forms a suspension/resilient
25 mechanism to enable the vertical structure to move fore and aft independently of the other end. The second member is foldable and is capable of being opened with a mechanical snap action. The first member is made of any one of the shape
selected from rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges, a rectangular plate with a plurality of grooves and a two piece rectangular hinged plates while the second member is made of shapes selected from a rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges.The plurality of clamps is configured at a lower portion of the backpack on either side and is capable of being folded in upward direction and downward direction. Each clamp comprises of telescopic rods configured therein to adjust length of the clamp for proper fixing to the seat of a motorbike whereby the plurality of clamps assists to grip the seat of motor bike sideways for stability. Detailed description of the invention
The foregoing objects of the present invention are accomplished and the problems and shortcomings associated with the prior art, techniques and approaches are overcome by the present invention as described below in the preferred embodiments.
The present invention provides a back supporting device for a motor vehicle seat that is integrated with a backpack. The components of the device are varied in design to adjust for all type of bike seats.
The present invention is illustrated with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein numbers indicated in the bracket represent the components of the invention throughout the description.
Table 1:
Referring to Figure 1 to 3 a back support device integrated with backpack (100) (here after referred to as "the back support device") in accordance with the present invention is shown. The back support device (100) comprises of a lumber support member (10), a first member (20), a second member (30) and a plurality of clamps (40) configured within the backpack (50).
The lumber support member (10) is configured within the backpack (50) that provides support to the back of the rider while riding the motorbike. The lumber
support member (10) is made of any one of the materials selected from rubber, sponge and like.
The first member (20) is embedded within backpack (50) vertically and is coupled to the lumber support (10.). In an embodiment, the first member is a rod structure (20) comprises of a helical spring (22) therein. In the embodiment, the first member (20) is made any one of the shape selected from a rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges, a rectangular plate with a plurality of grooves, a two piece rectangular hinged plates and like.
The second member (30) is configured perpendicular to the first member (20) and is hinged together. In the embodiment, the second member (30) is a rod structure with a helical or torsion spring (32) configured therein. In the embodiment, the second member (20) is made of any one of the shape selected from a rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges and like wherein the second member (30) is smaller in dimension than the first member (20). The first member (20) and the second member (30) are made of any one of the materials selected from fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) carbon fibre, aluminium and like. The second member (30) is foldable structure that is opened with a mechanical snap action. In an embodiment, snap action of the second member (30) is manual. The second member (30) has a helical or torsion spring (32) that is enabled with a locking mechanism with upward movement lock as shown in figure 1.
Referring to the figure 3 and 4, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is assembled as a first rod forms the first member (20) and a second rod forms the second member (30) hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring (32). The first member (20) and the second member are arranged as T structure (25) with the first member (20) is embedded vertically inside the backpack and is hingedly connected to the second member (30) at the centre portion thereof. In the embodiment, the position of the first member (20) of the T
structure (25) changes from front of the back pack (50) to the inside of the back pack (50).
Referring to the figure from 5A to 5C, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) comprises of a first plate forms the first member (20) and a second plate forms the second member (30). The first member (20) and the second member (30) are perpendicular to each other and are hinged together by atleast three helical or torsion spring (32). The first member (20) and the second member (30) are rectangular in shape with curved edges. In the embodiment, the second member is smaller in dimension than the first member (20).The backpack device (100) is provided with atleast one helical or torsion spring (32) at the hinge joint with one of the open end rest upon the first member (20) and the other end rest upon the second member (30). The open ends of the helical or torsion spring (32) are place at the rear side of the backpack device (100). Thus the back support device (100) attains necessary suspension mechanism to enable the first member to move fore and aft independently of the other end.
Referring to the figure from 6A to 6C, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) comprises of a first plate forms the first member (20) and a second plate forms the second member (30) arranged perpendicular to each other and are hinged together by atleast three helical or torsion springs (32). The first member (20) is a rectangular plate with curved edges having a plurality of grooves and the second member (30) is of same shape but with smaller in dimension. Each helical or torsion spring (32) is provided with a rectangular loop at the middle that rests upon the first member (20) and the pair of the open ends rest upon the second member (30). Referring to the figure from 7A to 7C, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate, a second plate hinged together to form the first member (20) and is hinged to a third plate forms the second member (30). The hinge joint comprises of three helical or torsion springs (32)
arranged with one open end rest upon the first member (20) and the other at the second member (30) exposing towards rear side of the backpack device (100).
Referring to the figure from 8A to 8C, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate forms the first member (20), a second plate forms the second member (30), and is hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring (32). The helical or torsion spring (32) is arranged with one open end rest upon the first member and the other at the second member (30) exposing towards rear side of the backpack device (100)
Referring to the figure from 9A to 9C, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate forms the first member (20), a second plate forms the second member (30), and is hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring (32) having a square loop at the middle that rests upon the first member (20) and a pair of open ends rests upon the second member (30) exposing towards rear side of the backpack device. Referring to the figure from 10A to IOC, in an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate forms the first member (20), a second plate forms the second member (30), and is hinged together by atleast two helical/torsion springs (32). The helical or torsion springs (32) are arranged in such a way that the pair of open ends exposed towards rear side of the backpack device (100) with the first open end rest upon the first member (20) and the other open end at the second member (30). a plurality of clamps (40) configured at lower portion of the backpack (50) on either side and is capable of being folded in upward direction and downward direction. The plurality of clamps (40) is configured on either side of the device (100) assists to grip the seat of motor bike sideways for stability. In the embodiment, each clamp of the plurality of clamps (40) comprises of telescopic rods (40a) configured therein to adjust length of the clamp (40) for proper fixing to the seat of a motorbike. The plurality of clamps (40) is made of any one of the
materials selected from plastic, carbon fibre, rubber and like. The dimension of the plurality of clamps (40) is varied according to the length and width of the motorbikes.
The back support device (100) also comprises a strap attachment (60a) and a pair of side straps (60b) provided to keep the back pack (50) along with the back support device (100) upon the motor bike seat on position while riding (as shown in figure 11 and 12). The strap attachment (60a) is configured underneath the motorbike seat while the pair of side straps (60b) attached to both sides of the backpack (50). The free ends of the side straps (60b) are locked with the two ends of the strap attachment (60a). The strap attachment (60a) comprises a pair of buckle locks at both the ends to lock the free ends of then side straps (60b). This arrangement keeps the backpack (50) in place while riding. In an embodiment, the plurality of strap attachments (60) is adjustable and is made of any one of the materials selected from metal; fibre reinforced plastic (FRP), graphene, fabric and rubber.
The back support device (100) is configured inside the backpack while stitching. The back support device (100) integrated with back pack (50) and all its components are varied in design to adjust for all bike seats. In an alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is wearable without a back pack (50) but with an additional layer of sponge or fabric on the main plate structure. In another alternative embodiment, the back support device (100) is wearable without a back pack (50) but with an additional layer of sponge or fabric on the main structure.
Advantages of the invention 1. The device (100) provides comfort of resting his back while riding a motorbike.
2. The device (100) provides easy to handle and easy to carry.

Claims
1. A back support device (100) integrated with backpack (50) for a motor vehicle seat, the back support device (100) comprising:
a first member embedded vertically within the backpack (50), the first member having (20) a helical spring (22) configured therein;
a second member (30) configured perpendicular to the first member (20) and is hinged together, wherein the second member (30) is foldable and capable of being opened with a mechanical snap action;
a lumber support member (10) configured within the backpack (50) coupled to the vertical support;
a helical or torsion spring (32) configured inside the second member (30) that is enabled with a locking mechanism with upward movement lock wherein the helical spring (22) forms a suspension/resilient mechanism to enable the vertical structure to move fore and aft independently of the other end; and
a plurality of clamps (40) configured at lower portion of the backpack (50) on either side and is capable of being folded in upward direction and downward direction, each clamp comprises of telescopic rods (40a) configured therein to adjust length of the clamp (40) for proper fixing to the seat of a motorbike whereby the plurality of clamps assists to grip the seat of motor bike sideways for stability.
2. The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml , wherein the first member (20) is made of any one of the shape selected from a rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges, a rectangular plate with a plurality of grooves and a two piece rectangular hinged plates.
3. The back support device (100) as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the second member (30) is smaller than the first member (20) and is made of any one of the shape selected from a rectangular rod, a semicircular rod, a rectangular plate with curved edges.
4. The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml , wherein the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first rod forms the first member (20) and a second rod forms the second member (30) that is hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring.
5. The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml , wherein the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first rod forms a first member (20), a second rod forms a second member (30) arranged in T shape and is hinged together by at least one helical or torsion spring.

The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml , wherein the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate forms the first member (20), a second plate forms the second member (30), and is hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring (32) with one open end rests upon the first member and the other at the second member at rear side of the backpack device.

The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml , wherein the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate, a second plate hinged together to form the first member (20) and is hinged to a third plate forms the second member (30) wherein the joint comprising at least one helical or torsion spring (32) with one open end rest upon the first member and the other at the second member at rear side of the backpack device.

The back support device (100) as claimed in claiml, wherein the back support device (100) is assembled as, a first plate forms the first member (20), a second plate forms the second member (30), and is hinged together by atleast one helical or torsion spring (32) having a square loop at the middle that rests upon the first member (20) and a pair of open ends rests upon the second member at rear side of the backpack device.
9. The back support device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the lumber support member (10) is made of any one of the materials selected from rubber, sponge and like.
10. The back support device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first member (20) and the second member (30) are made of any one of the materials selected from fibre -reinforced plastic (FRP) carbon fibre and aluminium.
11. The back support device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the helical or torsion spring (32) includes a normal helical spring with a pair of open ends and a helical spring with a square loop at the middle.
12. The back support device (100) as claimed in claim 1 also comprises a strap attachment (60a) configured underneath the motorbike seat, and a pair of side straps (60b) attached to the back pack (50) wherein the strap attachment (60a) has a pair of buckle locks at both ends thereof for locking with side straps (60b) of the backpack (50).
