Description

A COOKING DEVICE COMPRISING A SPACER
The present invention relates to a cooking device comprising a spacer that is used between the door and the body and that prevents the enamel from coming off.
In cooking devices, especially in ovens, during the mounting of the hinges that support the doors onto the frame of the body, the problem of the enamel on the frame coming off can be encountered.
In the state of the art United States Patent Application No. US20060048468, using a plastic piece on the door to separate the two glass panes is disclosed.
Another state of the art document is United States Patent Application No. US20120031389. In this document, an outer panel is disposed on the door is disclosed and the frame thereof is produced from plastic material.
Another state of the art embodiment is disclosed in the South Korean Patent Application No. KR100737453. In this embodiment, it is disclosed that the connection between the countertop cooker and the oven is realized by means of a spacer. Said spacer provides that the oven and the countertop cooker are connected to each other and the enamel process is easily applied.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooking device wherein the problem of the enamel coming off at the parts where the door is connected to the body by means of hinges is eliminated.
The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof comprises a spacer that is arranged between the support element supporting the frame at the inlet of the body from behind, onto which the hinge is fixed and that provides buffer between the support element and the frame, thus preventing the problems of the enamel coming off or flaking. Thus, the problem encountered on the casing while connecting the hinge plates that support the door on the casing is eliminated by means of the spacer.
The spacer is fixed onto the support element by means of connection elements. The spacer snap-fits onto the support element by means of the claws provided on the spacer, and the fixing elements are fixed directly onto the support element through the frame by means of the fixing holes on the hinge.
The first connection element is L-shaped and comprises an upright member that extends perpendicular to the spacer and a second upright member that extends parallel to the spacer and perpendicular to the first upright member. The support element remains between the connection element and the spacer when the first connection element is inserted into the first connection housing.
The second connection element is C-shaped and has an arm on the tip of the upright member that extends perpendicular to the spacer, with the end of the arm facing the spacer such that there remains a gap therebetween. The second connection element is engaged with the connection housing after passing over the edge of the support element. Thus, the spacer is immovably fixed on the support element. Said structure of the first and the second connection elements presses the support element onto the spacer.
The spacer that is arranged between the support element and the frame and that is produced preferably from plastic material acts as a buffer and prevents enamel flaking.
A cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 - shows a cooking device when the door is open.
Figure 2 - is the exploded view of a spacer and the support element.
Figure 3 - is the front view of the spacer that is mounted onto the support element.
Figure 4 - is the rear view of the spacer that is mounted onto the support element.
Figure 5 - is the front view of the support element and the spacer that are mounted onto the body.
Figure 6 - is the rear view of the hinge that is mounted onto the body.
Figure 7 - is the front view of the hinge that is mounted onto the body.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Cooking device
  2. Body
  3. Door
  4. Hinge
  5. Frame
  6. Spacer
  7. Support element
  8. Connection element
    108. First connection element
    208. Second connection element
  9. Connection housing
    109. First connection housing
    209. Second connection housing
  10. Fixing element
  11. Fixing hole
The cooking device (1) comprises a body (2) wherein the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed; a door (3) providing access into the body (2); at least one hinge (4) that connects the door (3) to the body (2) and that enables the door (3) to be opened and closed by rotating around its connection axis; a frame (5) that is arranged on the body (2) and against which the door (3) bears when closed;
  • at least one support element (7) that is arranged at the rear side of the frame (5) facing the body (2) and that extends perpendicular to the edge of the door (3) where the door (3) is fixed to the body (2) and extends parallel to the frame (5), and
  • at least one spacer (6) that is arranged between the support element (7) and the frame (5) (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
The spacer (6) fixed onto the support element (7) acts as a buffer between the support element (7) and the frame (5), and the hinge (4) is fixed onto the support element (7) via the frame (5) such that the spacer (6) remains therebetween. By means of the spacer (6), the flaking of the enamel on the elements that are coated with enamel is prevented.
The support element (7) is fixed onto the body (2) so as to remain behind the frame (5) and extends parallel to the frame (5) along the edges of the body (2) that are perpendicular to each other. The support element (7) is like an angle bracket. The support element (7) is L-shaped or T-shaped.
The spacer (6) is produced from plastic material and fixed onto the support element (7). The cooking device (1) comprises at least one connection element (8) that is arranged on the spacer (6) and that enables the spacer (6) to be fixed onto the support element (7), and at least one connection housing (9) with which the connection element (8) is engaged.
In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, two connection elements (8) and two connection housings (9) are provided. In this embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device (1) comprises the first connection housing (109) and the second connection housing (209) that are rectangular, preferably extending along the same horizontal direction on the spacer (6). The first connection housing (109) is a rectangle the shorter edge of which extends on the horizontal axis while the short edge of the second connection housing (209) extends on the horizontal axis. Thus, the spacer (6) is prevented from moving on the support element (7) along the horizontal and vertical axes. Furthermore, the cooking device (1) comprises the first connection element (108) and the second connection element (208) that are fitted into the first connection housing (109) and the second connection housing (209) respectively. The first connection element (108) is an L-shaped arm composed of a section that extends perpendicular to the spacer (6) and a section that extends parallel to the spacer (6). The second connection element (208) is a C-shaped hook.
The spacer (6) is mounted onto the support element (7) as follows: The first connection element (108) is passed through the first connection housing (109). The second connection element (208) extends from the edge of the support element (7) towards the back of the support element (7) and the end thereof is fitted into the second connection housing (209). After this process is completed, the first connection element (108) slides horizontally in the first connection housing (109) and bears against the edge of the housing (109). Thus, the spacer (6) is immovably fixed onto the support element (7) (Figure 3 and Figure 4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device (1) comprises a door (3) that opens sideways. In this embodiment, the door (3) is connected to the body (2) in the vertical axis in an openable manner by means of the hinges (4) that are fixed onto the door (3) and the body (2) along the side edge of the body (2). In the preferred embodiment, two hinges (4) are used, one above the other.
The cooking device (1) comprises one or more than one fixing hole (11) that is arranged on the hinge (4), the frame (5), the spacer (6) and the support element (7) and that aligns with each other when the spacer (6) is seated onto the support element (7), and one or more than one fixing element (10) that provides the fixing by passing through at least one of the fixing holes (11).
In the present invention, the door (3) is mounted onto the body (2) in the following manner. The part of the hinge (4) to be fixed onto the body (2) bears against the frame (5). The spacer (6) fixed to the frame (5) so as to be positioned between the frame (5) and the support element (7) is positioned behind the frame (5). Furthermore, the fixing holes (11) provided on the hinge (4), the frame (5), the spacer (6) and the support element (7), through which the fixing elements (10) pass align with each other. The fixing elements (10) are fitted into the frame (5), the spacer (6) and the support element (7) through the hinge (4), and the mounting of the hinge (4), thus the door (3), onto the body (2) is completed (Figure 5, Figure 6 and Figure 7).
