Abstract
The invention relates to the use of pellets as starting material for the production of organic molecules with a maximum molar mass of 1000 g/mol, obtained from cellulose or hemicellulose, wherein the pellets can be produced from lignocellulose-biomass which is subjected to a substantially ammonia-free water steam explosion treatment. The invention also relates to pellets that can be produced from a lignocellulose-biomass which is subjected to a substantially ammonia-free water steam explosion treatment at a pressure in the range of 5 bar (g) to 20 bar (g).
