  • Micro-coils are smaller than standard spring coils. With micro-coils included, height of each individual pocket spring unit is within a range of 25 - 45 mm, preferably 30 - 40 mm (compressed and packed); and diameter thereof may range within 10 - 60 mm. Such spring may comprise 4-12 turns. Because each individually packed coil responds independently, the array formed by a plurality of the pocket spring units 14A, 14B better conforms to body contours, helping to relieve pressure and dampen motion transfer. Moreover, provision of individually packed spring units of mini- or micro-size enables improved coverage.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un ensemble formant matelas (10), comprenant une couche centrale (11) composée d'un premier matériau de mousse (12) et une couche de surface formée d'un deuxième matériau de mousse (21). La couche centrale (11) comprend au moins deux cavités rectangulaires (13A, 13B) formées par des découpes borgnes verticales à une profondeur prédéterminée sur toute la largeur de la couche centrale, chaque dite cavité (13A, 13B) recevant au moins un réseau d'unités de ressort de poche (14A, 14B). Les unités de ressort (14A, 14B) forment des régions ii, iv avec des paramètres de support distincts des paramètres de support du premier matériau de mousse, au moins en termes de fermeté et de résilience. Des régions d'unité de ressort ii, iv conjointement avec les premières régions de matériau de mousse i, iii, v constituent un système de relâchement de points de pression localisés à l'intérieur de l'ensemble formant matelas (10).
