Abstract
The invention relates to a method for producing a biocompatible layer on an implant surface of an implant consisting of polyetheretherketone. The aim of the invention is to specify a possibility, by which the positive properties of PEEK as an implant material can be improved with regard to growing-in behavior, biocompatibility and resorbability of the coating. According to the invention, said aim is achieved by a method for producing a biocompatible layer on an implant surface of an implant, consisting of polyetheretherketone, in which first the implant surface is provided with hydroxyl groups by the reduction of the keto group with hydroxyl groups or by applying a SiOx coating, then a coupling layer is applied by means of a coupling reagent selected from the substance class of mono-polyisocyanates, whereby a link to the hydroxyl groups of the implant surface is carried out via urethane bonds, and finally a biopolymer layer is applied by means of a modified biopolymer selected from the substance classes of polysaccharides and/or glycosaminoglycans, whereby a link to the coupling layer is carried out via urethane and/or urea bonds. Furthermore, the oligoester methacrylates and the oligoester urethane methacrylates can be cross-linked by means of photoinitiators on the substrate surface.
