Abstract
A three-dimensional box (2), which can be used as a postal parcel for sending three-dimensional objects accompanied by vouchers, cards, papers, advertising fliers or slips of any content, wherein said objects and said vouchers or the like are arranged inside two closed, superimposed and separate compartments, each of which can be accessed in succession only after having opened, according to a predetermined tear line (40), a window which concerns the plane forming the top of the compartment itself. The box is made from a sheet-like blank (4) by means of successive folding and gluing operations by means of safety adhesives.
Description
CARDBOARD BOXES FOR SHIPMENT OF SAMPLES AND/OR GIFTS, WITH ANTI-FRAUD CLOSING
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a stationary product consisting of a three-dimensional box, which can be used as a postal parcel for sending small-sized objects either accompanied by vouchers, cards, advertising fliers or cards of any content or not, wherein said objects and said vouchers or the like are arranged inside two superimposed, separate compartments, each of which can be accessed in succession only after having opened, according to a predetermined tear line, a window which concerns the plane which forms the top of the compartment itself.
It is a peculiar feature of the invention that the manufacturing of the box as such and the insertion of the objects to be sent therein can be carried out either manually or by means of industrial processes, from a flat blank made of a single sheet of paper material or the like.
According to another feature of the invention, at least one of the planes which separate the two compartments is opened by means of a removable tongue, the breakage of which equivocally indicates any tampering attempt .
The invention further relates to the methods by means of which the box is manufactured, filled with its content and completed.
Further features and advantages of the invention will be more easily understood from the following detailed description, made with reference to the
accompanying drawings which show a preferred embodiment by way of non-limiting example only.
In the drawings:
figure 1 is a plan view of the front side of the box, once completed;
figure 2 is a plan view of the back of the box in figure 1;
figure 3 is the flat blank of the sheet, preferably but not exclusively made of paper material, seen from the side which forms the front outer wing, the outer rear part of the box, and the back of the inner wing;
figure 4 shows the flat blank of the same sheet but seen from the opposite side, i.e. from the part which forms the interior of the box with the back of the wing and the front of the wing which must be folded thereon;
figure 5 shows a perspective view of the step of inserting a card into the box with the inner wing already partially folded but not yet glued onto the back of the outer wing;
figure 6 shows, again in perspective view, the step of tipping the assembly consisting of the outer wing and the wing glued together onto the rear part; figure 7 shows the flat-lying shape taken by the box once all the parts are glued together except for two opposite side walls;
figure 8 shows the step of lifting and rotating of 90° said two side walls to form the box;
figure 9 shows the box once the two opposite side walls have been taken to vertical position and closed
by gluing a third side wall leaving open only an access on the opposite side to introduce a gift /object /product;
figure 10 shows the insertion of a gift/sample produced from the side which is still open and ready to be then closed to seal the box;
figure 11 is a perspective top view on the side opening of a box according to the invention when it is closed;
figure 12 is a view as in figure 11 with the wing of the front opening window partially raised;
figure 13 is a view of the box in figure 11 which shows the wing fully raised and the card inserted into the first compartment of the box itself;
figure 14 shows the next compartment of the box, once the card in figure 12 is removed, with a window wing which can be opened by means of a tear-off tongue; figure 15 shows the step in which the tearing of the tongue in figure 14 begins;
figure 16 shows the next step when the tongue is fully torn and the wing is partially raised, showing the sample/gift contained in the innermost compartment; figures 17 and 18 show the steps of extracting and removing the sample/gift from the inner compartment.
With reference to the figures, the postal box of the present invention is a box-like container 2 manufactured from the blank 4 consisting of a sheet of cardboard or the like and shown in figures 3 and 4.
In particular, observing figure 3, said blank 4 comprises :
a rectangular portion 10 provided on each of the
two opposite outer sides with a flap 12 and a flap 14, respectively, which can be folded along parallel folding lines Xn, 12, r while on the remaining outer side, interposed between the first two, it has a double flap 18,20, which can be folded first along a folding line X21 and second along a second folding line X22 parallel to the first one; the rectangular portion 10 is further connected to the portion 8 by a flap 16 which can be folded along a folding line X23 , and
two rectangular portions 6 and 8 of a smaller size than portion 10, which extend in succession, divided by the folding line Χ25Λ from the flap 16 of the same portion 10 on which a further folding line X2 is formed .
The rectangular portion 8 is also provided with a pair of opposite side flaps 22,24, which can be folded along predetermined folding lines X1 and X15.
According to a feature of the invention, a window is provided with a wing 32, which can be opened along a predetermined tearing line 34 from a tongue 36 in portion 6.
According to another feature of the invention, a wing 38 of larger size than wing 32, which can also be opened along a predetermined perforated line 40, is provided in portion 8.
As shown again in figure 3, the outer faces of the flaps 12,14 and 20 are provided with an adhesive layer extending into the zones indicated by Ci and C2, respectively, and again into the area B2 of the inner face of portion 6.
Figure 4 shows the other face of the blank 4, that
facing inwards: it can be easily observed that both flaps 22 and 24 are provided with an adhesive layer C∑ . Adhesive strips Ai and2 are also present along the whole periphery of both portion 6 and portion 8 of the blank 4.
Figures 5-10 show the various steps of forming the box and inserting one or more cards and the three- dimensional object.
In particular, starting from figure 5, the card 31 is inserted before starting tipping the portion 6 onto portion 8; starting from the position in figure 4, in which the parts of portions 6 and 8 provided with glue are facing upwards, portion 6 is folded inwards along the folding line X25 on portion 8 so that the stretches provided with glue A2 and Ai stick to each other and the card 31 is blocked inside a first compartment between wing 38 and wing 32.
The flaps 18,20 are first folded about the folding line X22 (see figure 6) and then the two portions 6 and 8 glued to each other are folded, so that the zone B2 of portion 6 overlaps and is glued onto the zone Bl of wing 20, thus obtaining a flat-shaped, semi-finished product, laid as shown in figure 7.
At this point, both the flap 18 on line X22 and the flap 16 on line X23 are folded at 90° to form an open box on two opposite sides (figure 8) .
By closing the side flaps of one of the two sides as show in figure 8, only one side remains free as shown in figure 9 for inserting the gift/sample 54 into the compartment underneath that where the card is contained .
The result is the box or housing as shown in figures 11-18.
The sealed parcel appears as a box having a rectangular plan provided on the front face thereof with a flap 38 which can be lifted by tearing along the predetermined tear line 40 on three sides, and which allows access to a first inner compartment.
Once the card 31 is extracted (figures 12, 13), the wing 32 appears, which gives access to the second innermost compartment, in which the gift/sample 54 of a three-dimensional product is located. The latter can be extracted from the box only by lifting said wing 32 which allows access, the lifting only being possible by tearing the corresponding tongue 36 over the whole length thereof.
It is apparent that any tampering attempt is immediately recognizable, because access to the inner compartment is possible only after having torn three predetermined tearing lines 40,36 and 34, which moreover lie on two different planes of the box.
Advantageously, it is worth noting that on all zones which need to be glued, such as the side flaps, using safety adhesives is required, which adhesives prevent the detachment unless using noticeable alterations (abrasions and tearing) of the material of which they are made.
