DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and the arrangement of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is applicable to other embodiments or of being practiced or carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the
phraseology and terminology employed herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.
The present invention provides a toothbrush having a secured detachable pivotable head allowing easy, and according to embodiments, peripheral cleaning of the user's teeth. According to embodiments of the present invention, the toothbrush may include various handles, various heads and various mechanisms for securely connecting the
toothbrush's head while enabling easy movement of the head as will be explained below. Attention is drawn to Fig. 1 showing toothbrush 100 according to embodiments of the present invention. The toothbrush 100 includes a handle 110, a securing mechanism
120 and a detachable pivotable head 130.
Fig. 1A is an exploded view of the toothbrush 100 of Fig. 1. According to embodiments of the present invention, the handle 110 may be formed as one piece or more made out of the same or different materials. The mechanism 120 includes a mechanism cover
121 intended to be opened in the direction of arrow 150 in order to enable the detachment of the toothbrush's head 130 as will be explained below. According to embodiments of the invention, the mechanism cover 121 is connected to the
mechanism body 118 on one end 119 and is made of material(s) allowing some kind of elasticity andVor flexibility in order to enable the cover 121 to be opened as described and presented (e.g. a living hinge). Alternatively, the cover 121 may be connected to the body 118 via a hinge. The cover 121 is intended to be securely closed while brushing the teeth using a latch including a male part 121 B and a female part 121C.
Fig. 1 B is an exploded enlargement of detail 140 of Fig. 1. The mechanism part 122 has two semi-circular parts 122A and 122B each able to move towards the center of the circle in order to be inserted into the mechanism's body 118. Each of the semi-circular parts 122A and 122B has a semi-circular protrusion on its upper side (122C and 122D) intended to be caught by the body's round protrusion 123. It will be appreciated that the mechanism part 122 may be a snap connection or any connection known in the art allowing secured a rotational movement. The mechanism cover 121 has a central protrusion 121A which is intended to be placed between the semi-parts 122A and 122B. When the mechanism part 122 is placed in the body 118, into the hole 124, and the mechanism cover 121 is closed, the cover secures the toothbrush's head 130 to the handle thus preventing the movement of the semi-parts 122A and 122B towards the center of the circle while allowing rotation of the toothbrush's head 130 around a central axis. In order to detach the toothbrush's head 130, the user opens the mechanism cover 121 thus enabling the semi-parts 122A and 122B to move towards the center of the circle and be released from the mechanism's body 118.
Fig. 1C shows the mechanism part 122 placed in the mechanism's body 118. Fig. 1 D is a side view section of detail 140 of Fig. 1 showing the semi-circular protrusions 122C and 122D caught by the round protrusion 123. The central protrusion 121 A of the mechanism cover 121 is placed between the semi-circular parts 122A and 122B thus secures the toothbrush's head 130 to the toothbrush's handle 110. As mentioned above, the mechanism cover 121 intended to be opened in the direction of arrow 150 in order to enable the detachment of the toothbrush's head 130.
Fig. 1 E is an upper view of the toothbrush of Fig. 1 showing the rotating directions of the toothbrush's head 130 (360°).
