Abstract

본 개시는 LTE(Long Term Evolution)와 같은 4G(4th generation) 통신 시스템 이후 보다 높은 데이터 전송률을 지원하기 위한 5G(5th generation) 또는 pre-5G 통신 시스템에 관련된 것이다. 무선 통신 시스템에서 대역폭을 결정하기 위한 장치 및 방법이 제공된다. 본 개시의 다양한 실시 예들에 따르면, 무선 통신 시스템에서 기지국의 동작 방법은, 단말로부터 상기 단말의 대역폭 지원 능력에 관한 정보를 수신하는 과정과, 상기 대역폭 지원 능력에 대응하는 적어도 하나의 후보 대역폭에 관한 정보를 상기 단말로 송신하는 과정과, 상기 적어도 하나의 후보 대역폭 중에서 상기 단말에 대한 사용 대역폭(utilization bandwidth)을 지시하는 정보를 상기 단말로 송신하는 과정을 포함한다. 이를 통해, 단말의 전력 소모 및 대역폭 지시를 위한 오버헤드가 감소될 수 있다.
