Abstract

A collagen fibre grey cloth and hydroentanglement process-based method for preparing a reconstituted leather. A hydroentanglement process and a solvent-free film-forming process are performed on a collagen fibre grey cloth. The reconstituted leather is prepared by means of the hydroentanglement process and the solvent-free film-forming process in relation to the characteristics of the collagen fibre grey cloth, and the obtained reconstituted leather has the feel and effect of real leather (two-layer leather). The structure is simple, the collagen content is high (more than 80%), and the mechanical performance is excellent. The grey cloth undergoes the hydroentanglement process, and then undergoes the solvent-free film-forming process to prepare a resin layer on the surface of the grey cloth, which improves the elasticity and feel of the reconstituted leather so that high quality leather products are obtained. The method significantly increases leather raw material utilisation efficiency, and effectively improves the environmental protection level of the leather industry.
