Abstract

Method and device for sealing of container (9) solves technical problem of lower amounts of cans (for example up to approximately 20.000 per hour) with sealing column (1) with combined types of sealing heads, one of which is for sealing of cans (2), and provides for design of circular sealing machine which can in addition to cans use also other types of sealing while all of the sealing heads are arranged on the same sealing column (1). The advantages of such a design of sealing machine is lower need for space, reduction of operating cost, lower price of device. During sealing of container (9) with lids of different dimensions there are two different sealing heads for sealing of cans on the same column. Therefore, no need to change of sealing heads is necessary when sealing in different can dimensions is performed.

For sealing larger number of cans there is a need for solely dedicated sealing machine. For lower number of cans (up to, for example, 20.000 units) there is a need for combined machine which is able to seal both cans and other containers as this is useful in technical, and also economic, sense as otherwise time of filling is extended due to need for change of sealing heads.
State of the art
There are many solutions available featuring different sealing heads (i.e. devices for sealing of various types of containers) on the same column, and also combined sealing heads such as for example crown/PET, crown/ Aluminum corks and similar.
Combination between crown cork and cans was only possible by using two different columns.
Description of new invention
Method and device for closing of container, preferably containing fluid, solves above referenced technical problem by designing a machine which provides for sealing of cans and sealing with either crown, PET, Aluminum or other types of corks wherein all of sealing heads are situated on the same column of the sealing machine. This invention provides for sealing of cans with lids (covers) of various sizes wherein there is no need for changing of sealing heads. In addition, this is a machine providing for combination of crown cork/can which is a novelty. In particular embodiment the sealing of cans as one of the container types is carried on. In this case the inlet star of sealing machine for transporting of containers transports a can along a circular path, this container without a lid, onto a surface of freely rotatable lifting platform. In this part of the path a lid (cover) is being positioned right above said can by means of feeding star, that is a device feeding and positioning lids. In such a way said can is arranged immediately below said lid. In lifting platform there is a compensation spring inserted for compensating of height and pushing force between said can and said lid. Freely rotatable lifting platform is lifted along the lifting platform guiding curve (cam) via lifting platform guiding wheel until such time that said can with said lid is pressed against fitting head, and sealing of said can is performed. Said lifting platform is then lowered along said lifting platform guiding curve via said lifting platform guiding wheel and finished cam is delivered to exit star of filling machine.
Method according to this invention comprises the following steps:
- receiving of at least two sealing means onto at least two predetermined
respective receptacles of sealing means depending on type of sealing means wherein said receptacles are arranged on column of sealing machine for sealing of containers, wherein at least one of said different sealing means is always a can lid;
- receiving of container, preferably for fluid, filled with filling matter, preferably fluid;
- transport of said container, preferably for fluid, with inlet star of sealing machine to said lifting platform;
- lifting of container, preferably for fluid as a result of lifting of said lifting
platform, said lifting platform following movement of lifting platform guiding wheel along lifting platform guiding curve (cam);
- performing of step of sealing of said container, preferably for fluid, comprising:
o identification of type of said container, preferably for fluid, and identification of respective type of sealing means among available sealing means;
o arranging into contact of said container, preferably for fluid with sealing means corresponding to type of said container, preferably for fluid; o performing of sealing of said container, preferably for fluid with respective sealing means.
Method according to invention further comprises receiving of at least two sealing means chosen from at least one member of the following group: crown cork, cork, threaded metal cork, threaded plastic cork, can lid, wherein different sizes of can lids can be optionally chosen.
Device according to this invention comprises the upper part of sealing column for receiving of sealing means.
Device according to invention further comprises at least two receptacles of at least two sealing means wherein said sealing means are chosen from at least one member of the following group: crown cork, cork, threaded metal cork, threaded plastic cork, can lid, wherein different sizes of can lids can be optionally chosen.
Device according to invention further comprises lifting platform for lifting of said container, preferably for fluid toward said receptacles of sealing means, preferably sealing heads, as a result of lifting platform guiding wheel along lifting platform guiding curve (cam).
For purpose of this specification the receptacle of sealing means is described herein as a sealing head.
The invention is below further described with help of figures wherein said figures form part of the specifications, and show
Figure 1 shows sealing column presenting sealing column for sealing of a container (1), sealing head for sealing of cans (2), sealing head for sealing of bottles with crown cork (3), lower part of sealing machine (6), middle part of sealing machine (7), upper part of sealing machine (8), lifting platform guiding wheel guiding curve (cam) (11). Figure 2 shows view on the middle part of the sealing column from the side presenting sealing head for sealing of cans (2), sealing head for sealing of bottles with crown cork (3), lower part of sealing machine (6), middle part of sealing machine (7), upper part of sealing machine (8), container, preferably can (9), lifting platform (10).
Figure 3 shows view on the sealing machine from above presenting sealing column for sealing of container (1), sealing head for sealing of cans (2), sealing head for sealing of bottles with crown cork (3), inlet star of sealing machine (4), outlet star of sealing machine (5), direction of rotation of inlet star of sealing machine (A), direction of rotation of sealing machine (B), direction of rotation of outlet star of sealing machine (C).
The sealing column according to embodiment is comprised of upper part of sealing machine (8), lower part of sealing machine (6) and middle part of sealing machine (7). The sealing machine comprises two sealing heads (2, 3) provided for different sealing means, for example the first type of sealing head (2) is to be provided for sealing of cans, the second type of sealing head (3) is to be provided for sealing with crown corks. All the combinations are possible, and also possibility of more than two sealing heads, including and not limited to possibility that the first type of sealing head (2) is to be provided for sealing of cans of one dimension, and the second type of sealing head (3) is to be provided for sealing of cans which dimensions are different from dimensions of the first cans. Optionally, the user can choose between sealing means such as crown cork, cork, threaded metal cork, threaded plastic cork, can lid, wherein different can lid sizes can optionally be chosen.
In particular embodiment the first sealing head (2) is always provided for sealing of cans, and in addition, the second sealing head (3) is provided for sealing with threaded PET corks, sealing with threaded metal corks, sealing with corks of cork, or sealing of cans, wherein dimensions of lids of thess cans are different to dimensions of lids of the cans which are sealed with the first sealing head (2). The sealing is carried out in such a way that rotated inlet star of sealing machine (4) delivers container, preferably for fluid, to sealing head (2) or sealing head (3) - depending on type of container used. The sealing heads are arranged on sealing column (1) which is rotating in direction opposite to inlet star of sealing machine (4) and exit star of sealing machine (5). After completed sealing said container is delivered to exit star of sealing machine.
The expression star of sealing machine is descriptive of a device, provided for delivery of container or plurality thereof to the sealing column prior to performing step of sealing, and a device, provided for dispensing of container or plurality thereof from sealing column after performing step of sealing. The reason for such expression is in characteristic form which provideS to receiving particular containers which is typically of circular cross section.
The sealing column with combined types of sealing heads, out of which one is for sealing of cans, provides for design of circular sealing machine which can in addition to cans use also other types of sealing while all of the sealing heads are arranged on the same sealing column. The advantages of such a design of sealing machine is lower need for space, reduction of operating cost, lower price of device.
During sealing of cans with different lid dimensions there are two different can sealing heads on same column for sealing of cans. Therefore no need for change of sealing heads in necessary when another dimension of cans are filled.

Claims

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Method for sealing of container, preferably for fluid, comprising the following steps:
- receiving of at least two different sealing means onto at least two predetermined respective receptacles of sealing means depending on type of sealing means wherein said receptacles are arranged on a column of sealing machine for sealing of containers, wherein at least one of said different sealing means is always a can lid;
- receiving of a container, preferably for fluid, filled with filling matter, preferably fluid;
- transport of said container, preferably for fluid, with inlet star of sealing machine to a lifting platform;
- lifting of container, preferably for fluid as a result of lifting of said lifting
platform, said lifting platform optionally following movement of lifting platform guiding wheel along lifting platform guiding curve (cam);
- performing of step of sealing of said container, preferably for fluid, comprising:
o identification of type of said container, preferably for fluid, and identification of respective type of sealing means among available sealing means;
o arranging into contact of said container, preferably for fluid with sealing means corresponding to type of said container, preferably for fluid; o performing of sealing of said container, preferably for fluid with respective sealing means.
2. Method according claim 1 further comprising receiving of at least two different sealing means chosen from at least one member of the following group: crown cork, cork, threaded metal cork, threaded plastic cork, can lid or combination thereof wherein different sizes of can lids can be optionally chosen.
3. Device for sealing of container, preferably of fluid, comprising an upper part of sealing column for receiving of sealing means into at least two receptacles of sealing means, preferably sealing head, wherein said sealing means are chosen from at least one members of the following group: crown cork, cork, threaded metal cork, threaded plastic cork, can lid or combination thereof wherein different sizes of can lids can be optionally chosen, and further comprising lifting platform for lifting of said container, preferably for fluid toward said receptacles of sealing means, preferably sealing heads, optionally as a result of lifting platform guiding wheel along lifting platform guiding curve (cam).
4. Device according to claim 3 wherein on the same sealing column (1) there is at least one pair of different sealing heads (2, 3), out of which one is always sealing head for sealing of cans (2).
5. Device according to any of claims 3 to 4, wherein on said sealing column (1) in addition to sealing head for sealing of cans (2) there is sealing head for sealing with crown corks (3).
6. Device according to any of claims 3 to 5, wherein on said sealing column (1) in addition to sealing head for sealing of cans (2) there is sealing head for sealing with threaded metal corks (3).
7. Device according to any of claims 3 to 6, wherein on said sealing column (1) in addition to sealing head for sealing of cans (2) there is sealing head for sealing with threaded plastic corks (3).
8. Device according to any of claims 3 to 7, wherein on said sealing column (1) in addition to sealing head for sealing of cans (2) there is sealing head for sealing with corks of cork (3).
9. Device according to any of claims 3 to 8 for carrying out steps of a method according to any of claims 1 to 2.
