Description

DESCRIPTION
TITLE OF INVENTION: CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED OVER A FACILITATING SUPPORT FOR THE USE OF DENTAL FLOSS
TECHNICAL FIELD
[1 ] The present application for a Utility Model Patent refers to a constructive arrangement applied over a support used for assisting the use of dental floss, which field of invention refers to personal and mouth cleansing field.
BACKGROUND ART
[2] The inventor and applicant for the present application is also the applicant for BR 202014010934-5, filed on May 7, 2014, under the title FACILITATING SUPPORT-LIKE DEVICE FOR THE USE OF DENTAL FLOSS.
[3] In the BR 202014010934-5 application, better mobility and easiness at the time of mouth cleansing was offered to users. The application also highlights the support being easily handled and used, besides offering firmness, safety and economy, since it allows to place the wire on the deeper inner part of the mouth, next to the teeth and very comfortably. It also highlighted the prevention of material waste as a function of the help provided by the support device, thus avoiding the user from the need to use thinner wire than required at the time of cleansing.
[4] Another characteristic as included in the previous application refers to encouraging the use of dental floss, mainly by children, who largely do not maintain such habit. Furthermore, more efficient cleansing was highlighted, avoiding the contact with the already used parts of the dental floss.
[5] The earlier application also emphasized the daily and frequent mouth cleansing need. For that purpose, toothbrushes, toothpaste and dental floss were mentioned. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[6] Inventor had performed important modifications to the upper portion of the support, particularly between its head and the lengthwise body. Said modifications include the insertion of a lowered surface with two inverted wedge positions, to which regular or irregular slotted faces have been introduced, in a way that when said slots are grasped by the dental floss guarantee sufficient fixing by clutching to avoid the dental floss from becoming loose in use.
TECHNICAL PROBLEM
[7] Despite being an extremely important element for mouth cleansing, it is known that dental floss is related to a relative lack of practicality in its handling, as both edges are held by the user's hands, and the central portion is passed through the teeth.
[8] Another underlined aspect is that, at the time of the previous application filing, in the stated art the user is in direct contact with the already used, contaminated portion of the dental floss, not mentioning the need to stop to roll or unroll the dental floss from the hands to give continuity to cleansing.
[9] For that purpose, the support of the previous application was proposed, herein indicated as the state of the art, which was designed aiming to provide better practicality, and also to further spread the use of dental floss and at low cost, making the support accessible to all users.
[10] Also, according to BR 202014010934-5, the use of the support just requires the user to roll the floss on its upper end, already cut and with all the required support for quickly fixing the floss, which should then be strained and its other end should be held as usual, with the other hand. Therefore, at the time of cleansing, the user should move the edge of the facilitating support with the wire up to the mouth and handle it as required. After the use of a portion of the wire, the user should turn the support so to roll the wire for a new portion or extension to be used. [1 1 ] The state-of-art document also mentioned the possibility of optionally applying, over the upper edge of the support, stylized cuts to grant further support and bearing to dental floss, thus forming an upper sphere with a cut to settle the wire which, besides being rolled to the handle, passes through it for bearing by the support.
[12] The state-of-the-art document reports benefits which can be reached by the invention, as follows:
- fully portable;
- low cost;
- it may be adapted according to requirements;
- easy use and handling by any user;
- it allows the dental floss to be quickly rolled up;
- it offers full support and bearing for mouth cleansing, encouraging the constant use of dental floss;
- it enables cleansing for persons facing difficulties to use dental floss themselves, such as small children;
- it may be developed in various sizes;
- it may be developed with various materials;
- its shaft may be stylized;
- it may be re-used various times;
- - long working life;
- no maintenance required;
- it offers practicality and easiness to users; - safety and hygiene;
- optimization and time-saving;
- precision;
- it offers better mobility to users;
- a commonly needed product; and
- industrial feasibility.
[13] Although all the presented advantages are real, the inventor has detected the need to increase the grasping efficiency between the dental floss and the support, since it gets loose in some situations.
SOLUTION TO PROBLEM
[14] In view of this, the inventor has made important modifications in the upper part of the support, particularly between its head and its longitudinal body.
These modifications include the insertion of a lowered surface with two inverted wedge positions, to which regular or irregular slotted faces have been introduced, in a way that when said slots are grasped by the dental floss guarantee sufficient grip by clutching to avoid the dental floss from becoming loose in use.
ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS OF INVENTION
[15] The invention enables the dental floss to be gripped in a more efficiently mode to the support, particularly by inserting slotted faces which prevent said dental floss to get loose when pulled.
DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[16] The exemplary will now be disclosed in its mode of embodiment, and, for better understanding, reference will be made to the attached drawings, representing: [17] FIGURE 1 : perspective view of the invention support;
[18] FIGURE 2: general view of the dental floss being rolled up to the support;
[19] FIGURE 3: amplified perspective view showing the head of the support and the slotted surface;
[20] FIGURE 4: enlarged view showing the dental floss rolled up to the modified region of the support.
DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
[21 ] The CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT APPLIED OVER A FACILITATING SUPPORT FOR THE USE OF DENTAL FLOSS, object of the present application for a Utility Model patent, comprises a portable support (1 ) to bear and facilitate the use of dental floss (F), being said portable support (1 ) composed by a stylized handle-type shaft (2) with anatomic form and support for the fingers (3), wherein the upper edge of said portable support (1 ) configures a slightly rounded head (4), being anticipated by a surface (5) for rolling up the dental floss (F).
[22] The surface (5) for rolling the dental floss (F) is constituted by a lowered surface with two inverted wedge positions (6), to which slotted faces were(7), which may be regular or irregular, have been introduced, so that said slots (7) are grasped by the dental floss (F) and grant sufficient fixing to the grasping, so to avoid the dental floss from becoming loose in use.
[23] So, according to the present application, the slots (7) form edges (8) which, when receiving the rolled up dental floss (F), create contacts, making it impossible to unroll the dental floss, in full contrast to what could happen over a smooth roll surface.
EXAMPLE
[24] The portable support (1 ) for receiving rolled dental floss (F) winding is an essentially cylindrical and anatomical part, with an inverted wedge surface (6) with slots (7) and rounded head (4), being a portable article which can be manufactured with various materials, such as: plastic, PVC, aluminum, wood and alike, and may also receive messages and promotional expressions, it means that preferably a single material is applied in its manufacture.
[25] The most compatible and indicated mean of production, even for cost reasons, is plastic injection; with other materials, the product will be manufactured with means for the transformation of metals, woods and others.
[26] For all the above, it is clear that the support with the shape amendments as explained in the present application for a utility model patent gathers functional enhancements on the use of the object, involving inventive step, so to fully justify its protection under this kind of patent, which can be produced on an industrial scale, preferably by plastic injection or molding of other materials and even machining.
