Description

DECENTRALISED ODDSCALCULATION AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEMSAND METHODS
Field of the Invention
The Invention is in the field of probability and odds calculation, !n particular, the invention is in the field of probability and odds calculation in the context of gambling. More particularly, the invention is in the field of probability and odds calculation in the context of off-tine gambling. The invention is also in the field of personalised betting systems and methods.
Background
Unregulated gambling is an enduring and multi-faceted problem. Authorities find it difficult or impossible to tax such gambling, whilst players are exposed to additional dimensions of risk, wherein when they do win there is a risk that they will not be paid. Many of these problems stem from unregulated gambling's association with organised or other pettier criminality. More prosaically, the sort of casual gambling and wagering which happens between friends - for example, a poker night, or a bet on a football game attended by friends, has its own set of problems, many of which stem from the amateurishness of the wagering. Differences of opinion related to unrecorded bets can, for example, provoke arguments between friends. Generally vagueness as to the terms of a bet can lead to anxiety from all parties, as where,
for example, a first person intends to make a serious bet, and a second person, having lost, suggests that they hadn't intended that the betting be taken seriously and, as a result does not honour the bet There are many other similar problems. As such, there is a serious arid multifaceted need for a manner of formalising such casual bets, such that they are taken seriously and honoured by all parties. Further, there is a real need for means to remove the aforementioned stratum of unregulated gambling from criminal control, in order that players are treated fairly and equally, and in order that such gambling can be newly taxed and regulated.
It is to these problems and others that the inventions described herein attempt solutions,
Summary of the invention A system for the organisation of betting activities between participants, comprising at least one mobile device, wherein the or each mobile device comprises a memory, an interface, a display and a processor, wherein the system further comprises a computer programme loaded onto the or each mobile device, wherein the computer programme comprises at least two levels of permission, wherein the first level of permission is ascribed to the bettor and enables the bettor to bet on a gambling event and the second, higher level of functionality is ascribed to the organiser and allows for the uploading of data related to the bet to the app, and wherein the organiser may upload data relating to the rules of the bet, which may then be saved in the device's memory, wherein in use, the organiser may set the parameters for a bet, and the bettor may place a bet within the parameters so set, wherein the parameters of the bet may be set by the organiser on his mobile device. The system outlined above has a first advantage of allowed bete to be recorded in detail and thus easily recalled.
Preferably, there is a first mobile device and a second mobile device and wherein the first mobile device corresponds with the organiser and has a computer programme comprising organisers' permissions and the second mobile device corresponds with the bettor and comprises bettors' permissions.
Preferably, the system further comprises a remote server in communication with at least the organiser's device and the parameters of the bet are stored on the remote server.
Preferably, the system further comprises a database comprising data from previous betting events, and wherein the database is organised according to type of previous betting event, the system further comprising algorithmic means for interpreting the previous betting events.
More preferably, there are offered percentages related to the probability of future outcomes on the basis of previous outcomes.
Brieff description of the figures
The invention will now be described with reference to the figures, of which: Figure 1 is a diagrammatic view of a system of the invention;
Figure 2 is a diagrammatic view of a second system of the invention; and Figure 3 is a diagrammatic view of a third system of the invention. Detailed description of the preferred emlaxlirnents
In a first embodiment, the system 2 comprises a computer programme or application 4 installed on a mobile device 6, which may be a mobile telephone, smart phone, tablet, phablet, laptop or any other mobile device that is known. The mobile device 6 comprises a memory 8, an interface 10 and a processor 12. The application 4 will be used with the aim to organize betting activities for different evente, allowing for the terms of the bets to be agreed between participants. The application 4 will be designed to run on mobile devices 6 working on IOS and android systems, but may be adapted for other operating systems in the
The system 2 and the application 4 aim to provide participants and organizers with an easily operable and accessible and - importantly - organised method of accepting wagers, calculation of the bets, making payouts, storing historical data of the events and providing statistics data relative to past evente. The system 2 and application 4 can be used for different events including but not limited to sports events, games between 2 people and street matches.
Agent systems can also be used, with percentages & individuals, affiliates, pool betting and bet exchange.
The systems of figures 1 -3 show, respectively at figure 1 a system 2 comprising mobile devices in direct two-way communication with each othen at figure 2 a system 2 comprising mobile devices 5 partially, passively mediated by a remote server 14 and at figure 3 a system comprising mobile devices 6 totally and actively mediated by the said remote server 14.
In use, there is entered into the system 2 the names of participants in the game and or the people betting. The two categories of people need naturally not be populated by the same people. Wagers can be accepted by organizers either by cash or by different electronic payment systems. In some preferred embodiments, the betting money can be kept in an account connected with the organiser, but in other preferred embodiments, it may be held in an account connected with the remote server 16. In certain preferred embodiments, it will also work with agent systems and affiliate programs. The agent system will give the option to take bets from betting participants and create different layers of bettors and agents. Agents will be able to create accounts and accept bets giving credits to bettors.
After the bets have been accepted, the event is played. After the event is finished organisers enter the actual scores and the application 4 according to the scores makes calculations related to the accepted stakes and the parameters set by the organiser prior to the bet Winnings are automatically credited to the accounts of the bettors. The system 2 and application 4 can have differentiated users with different permissions - with permissioning related to the amount that may be bet as well as the type of bets to which a user might have access and the subject matter of the bets.
Further, organisers enter the system with the various permissions of organisers, whereas bettors have bettors' permissions. The application wilt also provide the possibility for sending notifications for upcoming games, matches, etc, also with possibility for video streaming, which may be live.
Thus, a transparent record of betting can be kept for both bettors and organisers.
During non-professional or street games the application will be used to provide options for bettors to accept bete, calculation of the results and paying the winnings.
The application shall fix terms and rules of the games such as; naming of the participants, broadcasting of the game results, allowing or disallowing the betting on different aspects of a given betting event, and also limiting the spread of different types of events a given bettor can place; calculating who has won and subsequent publishing and broadcasting of results, depositing winnings and taking out the stakes from balances of the players, paying out of winnings and storing the data for arbitrage
The application 4 will have the following functionality on one or more interactive screens; Separation of sports, names of teams and participants, judge, players and organizers, selection of markets, 3 way results, 2 way results, totals, handicaps and related options, it further provides the option of using betting exchange principles with the bettor, even with the use of virtual currencies. The application can abo oversee the calculation of markets and future odds according to the final results, and finally the approving of the winnings and winners
A separate page of the application will give the opportunity to the bettors to check the bet and other information they want to check from the system 2. Only those with admin permission will have permission to enter scores and terms of the games.
There will be abo option for 2-way result markets to automatically calculate other market when some of them are initially been entered to the system 2, or the provision of automated algorithms with percentages of probability.
