Description

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR VIEWING OR SHARING PICTURE/VIDEO IN INTERACTIVE MEDIA PLAYER
Technical Field of the invention
The present disclosure generally relates to an interactive media player, and more particularly to a method and system for viewing and/ or sharing, pictures and/ or videos pertaining to a particular event creating an interactive session in a single frame of the interactive media player. Additionally, the interactive session shall be completed only when the video or pictures are added and sent to first party by other party.
BACKGROUND ART OF THE INVENTION
Individuals in modern society often partake in momentous events for special occasion. Often these individuals wish to capture and/or store the events of such occasions on some form of hardware media that may be viewed at later time. Some forms of traditional method of capturing the events are taking pictures, voice recording, videos, etc. Often organizing photos in albums is a customary practice, particularly after weddings and other special events have occurred. A photographic album or photo album is a collection of photographs, generally kept in a book. Some albums have compartments which the photos may be slipped into; other albums have heavy paper with an abrasive surface covered with clear plastic sheets, in which photos can be put.
Older style albums often were simply books of heavy paper which photos could be glued to or attached to with adhesive corners, or pages. Keeping photographs in albums may help to ensure that the pictures are somewhat protected from damage, and may keep all photos related to specific events in one centralized and accessible location. However, there may be no way to store video recordings of these corresponding events in a similar fashion. The consumers may wish to keep all photographs and videos relating to a specific event in one place so that the videos and pictures may be viewed at one time. Viewing pictures and videos simultaneously related to a single event can give good experience to the consumers in recollecting past events.
Generally, consumers would like to have both videos and photo material that refer to the same event in one place. Nowadays, more and more people capture audiovisual memories of their experiences, by means of digital devices having video and photo capturing capabilities. Technologies for audiovisual memories recording are more and more widespread and efficient. It is indeed common, nowadays, to find photo cameras with the ability to record short video sequences, or mobile phones with an embedded high-resolution photo and video cameras. Since availability of these digital devices is so pervasive, as a matter of fact most of the consumers are accustomed to record both photo and video memories of the same events, or to receive them from one or more other persons who were also present at the event. Therefore it is quite common for a user to have video and photo material that refers to the same occasion, place and time.
Further, many consumers send gifts for birthdays, graduations, and other occasions to loved ones. These gifts are often embellished with attractive wrapping and cards displaying thoughtful messages. However, these items may not be personal enough to truly show the sender's affections. Additionally, recipients may wish to see or hear their loved ones expressions, emotions or voice through audio or video recordings, which cannot be accomplished with conventional gifts and cards.
There are many websites that let people to upload and store / share video and pictures separately. Although the internet makes sharing of photo albums more accessible, the human element is restricted to text tagging only. As technology changes, cameras have become digital, even mobile phones are equipped with cameras now, so there is an increased number of photographs and videos that are taken through mobile phones.
There are many websites or applications where people can upload, share and play videos or photographs separately. For e.g. YouTube® player for videos, photo storing or sharing websites like Flickr®, Picasa®, etc. But there is no website or mobile applications/ interface which have a media player that combines both these elements (picture and video) in one screen for simultaneous viewing. So there is a need to make this sharing of photos more personalized and intimate like no text captioning and tagging can do. A need exists for a simplified system whereby still and non-still photographs may be organized and readily viewable by individuals.
Therefore, there is a need for a system and/or method, whereby the pictures or videos may be uploaded by one user of the media player and completed by another user of the same media player, thus completing one media file which may be shared with anyone one within the media player group or outside. Also the image or the video should be played in parallel keeping in mind the aspect ratio of a display unit of an electronic device.

In yet another embodiment, when the interactive media player 106,106A-N may be initialized and then the image or audio or video may be captured by the electronic devices 104,104A-N. In an embodiment, the single frame is defined as a frame at a particular instant in time appearing in the interactive media player (106).
In an example embodiment, a person creates an album of his son's birthday party who is turning one and then he uploads it online on the site to preserve memories related to that function. The uploaded album can be viewed by his son even when he is sixty with video comments with his late great grandmother wish for him.
In this fast faced world the method creates a channel of communication between generations and intra-generation which dissolves distances and retains the human touch in our sharing of pictures which are just objects without the memory that is has captured.
For example, suppose a person having a picture (in black and white) of his parents wedding. When they got married their marriage mandap (canopy) caught on fire and there is a picture of them standing together and looking up scared- father's arms around his mother. When his mother showed that picture to him she told it was the first time that they touched, since it was an arranged marriage they hardly had even met. For him that story made the picture special and without having the video related to that picture is interesting but not special. Anthropologically, sociologically pictures helps to understand and with the present invention helps to understand it better and preserve it forever.
Examples of the electronic device 104, 104A-N may include smart-phones, laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), and personal computers. The electronic device stores a set of instructions that when executed by the processor may cause the processor to establish a communication session with the remote or standalone server.
