Field of the invention
The invention relates to portable hand-operated agricultural sprayer that features two modular chemical containers designed for sequential use in spraying chemicals on agricultural crops and on weeds with application in agriculture.
Prior art
There is Patent US2013186977 for portable sprayer designed in the form of backpack for the operator, which includes multiple containers and a pump for spraying chemicals. Using flexible hoses, the containers are connected to a control manifold with a handle and a main tube with a nozzle at its end is connected to the manifold assembly. Using the manifold assembly, the user controls the selection of a specific chemical from the containers to be sprayed through the nozzle mounted on the tube. The chemicals in the containers are pressurized and manually pumped and supplied to the nozzle. The pump draws liquid from a manifold-selected supply container outward through tubes to the manifold, which has a console of valves. Separate return tubes are provided for each chemical from the manifold back to the containers of origin, and the manifold allows convenient flushing of each chemical back to its container of origin. This ensures that chemicals from the containers are not mixed or cross-contaminated, and avoids wasting chemicals as all residual is returned back to its respective container. The manifold valves are carried on a waist belt at the hip for ease of control during spraying, without need to take off the backpack sprayer. This sprayer only sprays chemicals and is not suitable for ejection of chemicals in a jet upon a specific plant or weed or within a specified restricted area.
There is also the technical solution from patent WO02062485 that relates to a portable backpack pump sprayer to spray liquid, chemical substances such as pesticides, fungicides and fertilizers, comprising a large storage tank in which a pressure container is mounted. A pumping assembly that is manually actuated with the bottom portion of the pressure container and also with the bottom portion of the tank is connected. The operator can discharge the pressurized liquid using a hose and a control valve that is affixed to the pressure tank. The pumping assembly also comprises a double-wall plunger and an anti-leak barrier to collect any liquid that may leak out of the plunger. The oscillating action of the plunger is used to return the liquid that has leaked out to the storage tank by means of a return siphon. This sprayer also spreads chemicals in the form of spray and is not suitable for administering chemicals in the form of jet upon a specific plant or weed.
Summary of the invention
The purpose of the invention is to create a portable hand-operated agricultural sprayer for sequential use in spraying chemicals on agricultural crops and on weeds that is easy to handle and to maintain, and sprays chemicals in a jet on specific plants or weeds thus preserving the useful plants in the surroundings, and offers ease of assembly and container cleaning.
The portable hand-operated agricultural sprayer is designed in the form of a backpack including shoulder straps to secure the sprayer to operator's back and comprises two modular containers fitted to each other, the first container being designed for herbicide and the second container is for herbicide neutralizer. On the opening of the first container there is a cap for herbicide with an air valve on its face and a first ribbed connector to which is attached the first hose. On the opening of the second container there is a cap for herbicide neutralizer with another air valve on its face and the second ribbed connector to which is attached the second hose. The first and second hoses are connected to a trigger assembly with a handle, whereas the hoses are located within that assembly, the first hose being connected with the first valve for herbicide and the second hose being connected to the second valve for herbicide neutralizer, each valve being connected to a lug mounted on top of the handle.
Two pipes, first and second, are installed on the trigger assembly, the first pipe being connected through the first valve to the first hose for herbicide and the second pipe being connected through the second valve to the second hose for herbicide neutralizer; the two pipes are fixed to each other using a clamp. At the end of each pipe there is a nozzle: first nozzle for herbicide and second nozzle for herbicide neutralizer, installed within a tubular body; the diameter of the orifice of each nozzle is between 0.8 and 1.2 mm.
The first herbicide valve and the second herbicide neutralizer valve are made of a housing in which is installed a spring-loaded plunger capped by a mounting cap, the piston at the lower end being in contact with an arm on the lug connected by a hinge mechanism to the trigger assembly.
The first modular container is assembled to the second modular container with wedge grooves in the top and bottom part of the side wall of the first herbicide container and outwardly wedge ridges on the side wall of the second herbicide neutralizer container, with the ridges sliding in the grooves.
In a preferred embodiment, the first and second tubes are made as telescopic tubes within which a screw telescopic tip made of first and second telescopic tubes is mounted by means of screw connections. At the end of the first and second telescopic tubes, the first and second nozzles are located respectively. The telescopic tip is optionally extendable at a desired length by means of the screw connection.
