Abstract

The subject of the invention is the use of starch in the amount exceeding 0.1 % in tobacco products for hookahs, allowing for a total or partial abandonment of the use of molasses and invert sugar. The invention has an impact on improving organoleptic features of the products, inter alia through: 1 ) achieving an even and relatively permanent distribution of fruit syrups, essences, aromatic oils and glycerol throughout the product; 2) a gradual release of aromatic compounds as the subsequent layers of tobacco burn; 3) much cleaner and more essential taste of the smoked tobacco related to the much higher temperature of starch combustion compared to molasses and invert sugar; 4) the lack of the burning smoky aftertaste characteristic of tobacco products containing molasses or invert sugar.
