Abstract

The invention refers to a device comprising a sphere case or measuring station having a floating system, warning modules, a power supply and a switch, and a water inlet section connected to the spherical case. The device may be attached to any type of ground by means of a piercing base, and is used for forecasting floods, water flow increase, waves or any other water flow increase of an effluent, by means of, for example, sound or light signals.

Description

PORTABLE DEVICE FOR WATER LEVEL DETECTION
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention may be included in the field of warning about the water level, more particularly the invention refers to a portable device for water level detection for early warning of water flow flood.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
There is no early information available about a possible flood event when camping near a water body, or about an increase in the level of any liquid that may cause material damage and even loss of lives. Some devices have been strictly created for use at homes, or more complex devices for use in monitoring stations along a water body. Other portable devices may detect floods and generate a warning as in patent US8786453B2; however, if the water level exceeds the level supported by the device this loses its warning capacity. Therefore, considering the previous documents, it is necessary to find alternatives directed to early detection of an increase in water flow levels.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention discloses a device that may be used for any type of place, being provided with a base that can be buried into the ground and that detects when the water level touches the actuation contacts, subsequently generating a sound or light warning or any other communication means. The contacts are placed in an inner location so as to prevent the rain, condensation or any other phenomenon to generate a false positive, causing that water comes in only from the bottom upwards and thus activates the device. In case the water exceeds the ground level of the device, this detaches from the base and floats, being in turn tied to the base by means such as a cord, fishing line or others. These devices may also be configured for being arranged in groups and provided with communication between them, such that losing signal with any of them activates the other devices.
An aspect of the present invention refers to a portable device for detecting water level characterized in that it comprises:
- a spherical case or measuring station comprising a floating system (preferably an air chamber), warning modules, a power supply and a switch,
- a water inlet section connected to the spherical case,
- a piercing base having a conical tip that allows anchoring the device, and - a folded cord or fishing line reel that allows connecting the piercing base to the water inlet section.
The warning modules may be selected from a light system, a sound system or both. This device may be used in the surroundings of an area of interest as for example: houses, equipment or camping areas surroundings, or any other area that is interesting to keep monitored.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG 1 . It shows a front outer view of the device of the invention. FIG 2. It shows a front inner view of the device of the invention. FIG 3. It shows a side outer view of the device in a flooded area. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The following is a description of a preferred embodiment of the invention based on the attached figures.
FIG 1 shows the following components: base (1 ), provided with a system fixing the base to the ground (1 a), cord or fishing line reel (2), water inlet section (3), spherical case or air chamber, and warning modules (4), device on and off switch (5). By being in a determined place and with the water level progressively increasing in the surrounding area, the water reaches the hollow section or water inlet (3), where it will activate the device, and this will generate different warnings. FIG 2 shows the spherical case or air chamber and warning modules (4), provided with an electric power supply (4a), sound emitter, light emitter and others (4b), an on and off switch (4c), communication devices (4d), motherboard (4e). It shows the water inlet (3) section, provided with a device activating system upon contacting the water (3a) and a counterweight (3b); cord or fishing line reel (2), so as to attach the base (1 ) to the rest of the device.
FIG 3, shows the base (1 ) at the bottom of the water or liquid, the cord or fishing line reel (2), the water inlet (3) section and the spherical case or air chamber and warning modules (4).
