Abstract
The present invention relates to an electronic circuit that acts as a controller for an air conditioner and is installed inside the air conditioner as a substitute for a selector switch and thermostat, as was used in the past. The controller is completely electronic and solves many of the problems resulting in electricity wastage and the breakdown of the air conditioner and the selector switch itself, such as reactivation speed, the difference between the source voltage and the voltage required for the air conditioner, the collection of ice on the evaporator, the continuous need of the external switch for fuses and the speed at which said switch deteriorates, and other problems. The controller of the present invention comprises two heat sensors for monitoring the temperature before and after an evaporator, at all times, to establish whether there is cooling and the quality of same. The controller also monitors the current of a compressor and a fan, the operating voltage, and the start-up time and start-up voltage of the compressor. The controller can be calibrated to save these values in a memory and subsequently use said values to monitor the operation of the air conditioner. The controller also protects the user from excessive cold and from cold air being aimed directly at him or her during sleep, as a light sensor is added to deduce that the user has turned off the lights to go to sleep. The user is reminded to turn off the air conditioner if the lights have been turned off to leave the room but not to sleep. If the user wishes to sleep, the controller implements processes for sleep, namely, raising the control temperature by two degrees and raising the air conditioner louvre upwards so that the user is not harmed. The controller also shows the operational state by means of a set of LEDs and the current temperature, control temperature and defects by means of boxes having seven sections. The electronic circuit comprises a continuous regulated power source, a microcontroller, two heat sensors, a light sensor, four relays, a current converter, a voltage converter, a button for activation and selection, a button for deactivation, two buttons for calibration, lamps indicating activation, errors and sleep, a rotary switch for selecting the required temperature, an alarm and other elements.
