This invention relates to a barricade system, and more particularly to a multipurpose barricade system to display message.
Description of Related Arts
A traffic cone is a universal symbol of caution. The traffic cone is usually found in places such as arenas or theatres as a sign to remind people not to enter a location or space that are not available or not allowable. However, said traffic cone may be suitable to display on limited places only, Moreover, the traffic cone may not obvious to pedestrians or vehicle drivers due to the size of the traffic cone. Hence, there is replacement of the traffic cone with a barricade for the same function and even giving more benefits to users.
A barricade is a barrier which can be located in a dangerous area to display and convey message to pedestrians of the dangerous. Said barricade also use for blocking specific areas from pedestrians or workers. For instance, it can warn and a!ert drivers of construction, maintenance and utility activities in or near the travelled way, and to guide and direct drivers while providing maximum safety for the equipment and the workers on the Job.
US Patent No. 4,977,897 disclosed a traffic barrier which composed of a unitary panel having a plurality of folds for permitting it to be folded into an A-frame composed of two message panels connected at an apex, the A-frame having a base. The folds in the unitary panel include; a center fold, which forms the apex of the A-frame two bottom folds each spaced a first predetermined distance from the center fold, which define a bottom panel adjacent each message panel, and two flange folds spaced a second predetermined distance from the center fold, which define a flange adjacent the end of each bottom panel. The base is established either by an interlocking tab and slot system located adjacent the flanges or by an adhesive interconnecting the two flanges. However, the traffic barrier is supported by a bottom foids and base panels only. These may not able to stand strong winds especially when vehicle pass by.
US Patent No. 4,541 ,190 disclosed a foldable, collapsible traffic display which is storab!e in the flat, folded state and can be erected to form a three dimensional hollow triangle or box. The apparatus includes three rectangular panels connected together by two folding hinge portions and a holding means for locking the display in its erected state. The display includes a ballast pocket in the central panel and a Veicro®-like straps holding means. An alternative embodiment employs tabs having a special geometry and male and female snap fasteners to lock the display in position. The display may be turned inside-out and locked in the reverse mode so that the warning indicia on ail six panels can be made visible to other motorists. There is a need to have a ballast pocket which is for receiving different kind of weigh! during input ballast material such as sand, soil or rock to stabilize the device against high winds or air flow of passing cars. Hence, there is a need to have a simple barricade which have stable and strong stand for high winds.
Retracta-cade is another type of multi-purpose control barrier. Printed sign panels allow the Retracta-Cade crowd control barrier to be used by police or government agencies for multiple application including displaying messages such as warning, safeness and other messages, as crowd control or security barricade. Standard and custom sign panels are available to slide in on the body of the Retracta-Cade. An easy-release button can lock the signs in place during transport and release in seconds to remove or change signage. A reflective stripe is added to the body and extensions which provide better visibility at night time. However, the Retracta-cade is having small display message area even though the message is changeable. Hence, there is a need to have a larger area of display message or warning sign which is visible to people. Therefore, there is a need to provide a ssmple and multi-purpose barricade system that is beneficial to consumer other than traffic warning purposes. References
