Abstract
A helmet system which is designed to ignite the two-wheeler, once the driver and the pillion rider wear the helmet. The invention is designed for the safety of the driver and the pillion rider, wherein the engine ignited only once the driver and the pillion rider wear the helmet. The area above the meter on the handle of the two-wheeler will serve as the receiver (113) from the helmet of the driver(DH), while receiver attached to the back rest (204) of the two-wheeler(114) will receive signals from pillion rider's helmet(PH). Back-rest receiver (203) gets activated once the weight sensor (202) beneath pillion rider seat senses a predetermined weight. Once the frequency from both the helmets have been detected the driver has to push the start button to start the engine.
Description
TITLE
A SAFETY HELMET SYSTEM CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS AND PRIORITY
[0001] The present application claims priority from Indian patent application no. 201711006800 filed on 27 February 2017.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The present invention falls broadly under the technical field of electro-mechanical engineering. More particularly the present invention is in the technical field of two- wheelers, where a method for igniting such two-wheelers' engines is achieved when both the driver and the pillion rider wear the said invention and invention is within a specified range of the two- wheeler. It provides ease of access as well as safety to the driver and the pillion rider.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0003] Generally, wearing a helmet while driving a two-wheeler is a mandate in all the geographies but enforcement of this regulation is not easy to monitor, especially in the developing and under developed countries wherein two- wheelers are the major mode of transportation. Till date helmet industry has focused mainly on providing the features which are related entertainment or communication, thereby ignoring the essential purpose of helmet, that is safety of the rider. For example, there are helmets available in the market with inbuilt microphones and speaker device as mean of communication via Bluetooth device and USB port to insert memory chip for listening songs.
[0004] The present invention relates to Smart Helmet assemblies comprised of immobilizers and sensors synchronized with the two-wheeler to ensure that the driver and pillion wear the helmet while riding for their safety. There are certain ongoing researches in the direction of safety measurement of the helmet. Although the disclosed invention is similar to the other safety helmets with digital components but working principal remains different.
[0005] Other inventions in the domain includes safety helmets focusing on the strap which is used to tighten the helmet near chin such as double lever mechanism for straps or sensor the straps sensing chin. Similarly, patent application number FR2751293A1 assigned to TEXTON discloses safety for the driver with the immobilizer and sensor systems. HONDA MOTOR CO LTD has filed a patent application in 2007 JP4833876B2 is related to vehicular anti-theft device capable of promoting a vehicle rider to wear a helmet for riding a motorcycle.
[0006] There are various drawbacks in the existing prior arts in the domain which needs to be addressed. None of the invention in the domain ensures the safety of the pillion rider. Further these variety of approaches do not address the practical contingencies associated while driving a two- wheeler such as movement of the head while driving or discharging of battery may disconnect the sensor-receiver communication with the helmet. Further the issue of change in the temperature or climate which may hinder the functionality of the immobilizer is not addressed in the prior-art.
[0007] In the current scenario, there is a dearth of invention and product which technologically and practically forces the rider to wear the helmet. Accordingly, the primary objective of the present invention is to provide a smart helmet addressing above stated drawbacks in igniting two- wheeler system.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a smart helmet addressing above stated drawbacks with regard to igniting two-wheeler system, safety of the both the driver and pillion rider and efficient installation of multiple immobilizer and sensors. The proposed helmet system will ensure that the driver and pillion rider wear the helmet thus providing safety to the riders by synchronizing both the helmets with receiving units placed on the two-wheeler . It is also an object of the present invention to provide a keyless igniting system that automatically turns on the engine when the driver and the pillion wear the helmet. Yet another object of the invention is to provide an igniting system comprised of two immobilizers incorporated on the driver's helmet that tackles any contingencies which
may occur due to movement of head and discharge of battery while driving. In general, the system according to the present invention comprises of ( 1 ) two immobilizers of the driver helmet transmitting coded signals to the receiving unit attached closed to the meter of the two- wheeler (2) one immobilizer unit transmitting signals to the receiving unit attached at back-rest of the two-wheeler which is further connected with weight sensor beneath pillion rider seat (3) synchronization of (1) and (2) will ignite the engine.

Further, Charging & Data Transfer Point can be used to charge Battery which is used for providing energy to said devices.
[00010] Yet another object of the invention is to provide bump/pressure sensor and biometric sensor which initiate the functionality of control panel and other connected devices Therefore, unless driver and the pillion do not wear the helmet and until codes do not matches, Charging & Data Transfer Point will not be activated.
[00011] Yet another object of the present invention is to incorporate other modes of communications namely Microphone, Volume Controller, Radio Channel Changer, Blue tooth Button, MP3 button, Biometric Panel and AM/FM Button.

[00026] Referring to figure 3 overall mechanism and synchronization of the activation process of the two-wheeler is shown, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[00027] At block 301 , when driver wear helmet the bump switch gets activated. The bump switch
103 further activates Control Panel 106.
[00028] At block 302, touch Biometric Panel 111.1 for authentication.
[00029] At block 303, authenticates the rider based on biometric signal.
[00030] At block 304 and 305, rider can switch on the ignition of the two wheeler based on the signal received from DH receiver.
[00031] At block 306, if a pillion rider is sitting on the bike after the bike is started and is carrying a certain/ specified weight, the weight Sensor 202 is placed beneath the Pillion Rider Seat 201 gets activated, when the thresh- hold limit of certain amount of weight associated with this Weight Sensors 202 is exceed. Further, the weight sensor activates Rear Immobilizer installed on the back rest of the vehicle and ECU (306).
[00032] At block 307, the Pillion Rider wear the helmet which will activate the bump switch mounted on the PH. If pillion rider doesn't wear the helmet, Engine will Stop/Shut down in 15 seconds due to non-authentication in case of absence of helmet.
[00033] At block 308, engine will remain START as PH receiver receives signal from PH.
[00034] Referring to figure 3.1 and 3.2, the detailed mechanism of activation of the Pillion helmet and the Driver Helmet is disclosed.
