A household appliance (1) comprising a network card (2) enabling connection to a wireless local area network and capable of communicating with a mobile device (C) connected to a local area network, and a control card (3) in communication with the network card (2), managing functions and programs.

Description

HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCE
The present invention relates to a household appliance connectable to a wireless local area network (WLAN).
Nowadays, there is a wireless local area network in almost every household. Wireless local area networks established by means of modems enable electronic devices, in particular phones and computers to connect to the Internet. There are also household appliances capable of connecting to a wireless local area network in a house by means of a card provided thereon. Such household appliances can thus be controlled by a user by means of all electronic devices such as smart phones, tablets, etc. on which a relevant application can be loaded. Remotely controlling a household appliance provides many advantages and conveniences to a user. The user can enable the household appliance to operate when he/she is not at home. The user can control all household appliances from a single point at home, thus saving time. Such household appliances need to go through security steps to be able to connect to devices such as tablets or mobile phones, and to connect the home network. Devices such as mobile phones and tablets can join a network by using the network name and entering the security password. However, household appliances do not generally include a keyboard to enter a password. Since it is desired for the household appliances such as small home appliances to be as compactly sized as possible, an option such as providing a touch screen thereon does not exist. In the present applications, an additional access point is included on a household appliance. A mobile phone or a tablet is enabled to access said access point and the household appliance is enabled to join the network in the later steps. Since this method takes a long time, it is difficult for users to perform. When the network password is not used, then the household appliance becomes controllable by unauthorized people.
State of the art Chinese patent application document no. CN105446305 describes a method securing the connection of a smart household appliance to a wireless network, and providing ease of use for the user.
The aim of the present invention is to realize a household appliance enabled to join a wireless local area network by means of a secure and easy method.
The household appliance realized to achieve the aim of the present invention and disclosed in the first claim and the dependent claims comprises a network card enabling connection to a wireless local area network, and a control card enabling management of functions and programs. The control card and the network card communicate through cable. The household appliance is capable of connecting to the internet by means of the network card. The network card is able to communicate to a mobile device connected to the same local area network. The household appliance is thus enabled to be controlled by means of the mobile device.
The household appliance of the invention comprises a control unit enabling reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted by means of the network card, to be reduced during establishing connection to the local area network. The network card is enabled to communicate with the mobile devices in its proximity, by reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card. By this means, the network card is enabled to join the local area network without using additional security measures.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises a control card enabling the network card to make an unencrypted broadcast when establishing connection to a mobile device. Thus, the network card can easily join the local area network.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises a control unit enabling reducing the broadcast strength of the network card upon request of connection coming by means of the mobile device. The broadcast strength of the network card is high when the household appliance is being used. When a connection request of a mobile device is detected, the broadcast strength of the network card is reduced by means of the control unit.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance comprises a control unit in which a previously connected mobile device is identified. By this means, a mobile device is recognized by the household appliance when the mobile device requests to establish connection again. The broadcast strength of the network card is thus prevented from being reduced.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance may be a cooler.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance may be a cooker.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance may be a washer.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance may be a dryer.
The household appliance realized to achieve the aims of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

C. Mobil Device
The household appliance (1) comprises a network card (2) enabling connection to a wireless local area network and capable of communicating with a mobile device (C) connected to a local area network, and a control card (3) in communication with the network card (2), managing functions and programs. The control card (3) and the network card (2) are able to communicate through cable. The household appliance (1) is capable of connecting to internet by means of the network card (2). The household appliance (1) can be controlled via internet by means of the mobile devices connected to the same local area network. The commands sent via internet by means of a mobile device, are transmitted to the control card (3). The household appliance (1) is thus remotely controlled.
The household appliance (1) of the invention comprises a control unit (4) enabling reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card (2), to be reduced during establishing connection to the local area network. During establishing connection to a local area network, the network card (2) scans its environment for devices by broadcasting internet. The strength of the internet broadcast of the network card (2) is reduced by means of the control unit (4). By this means, it can only detect the devices in its proximity. By this means, connection is enabled to the secure network.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) comprises a control unit (4) enabling the network card (2) to make an unencrypted internet broadcast during establishing connection to a mobile device (C). By this means, the mobile device (C) can easily and rapidly connect to the household appliance (1) and becomes capable of controlling the household appliance (1).
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) comprises a control unit (4) enabling the network card (2) to connect to the local area network using the security information coming from the mobile device (C). After establishing connection with the network card (2), the mobile device (C) sends security information to the network card (2) so that it can connect to the local area network. Household appliances without displays are thus enabled to easily join the network.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) comprises a control unit (4) enabling reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card (2) upon request of connection sent by means of the mobile device (C). When the household appliance (1) is being operated, a high strength internet is broadcast from the network card (2). The household appliance (1) can thus communicate with the other devices in the house. After the request of connection coming from the mobile device (C) to the household appliance (1), the strength of the internet broadcast signal transmitted from the network card (2) is reduced.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) comprises a control unit (4) in which a previously connected mobile device (C) is identified, enabling the network card (2) to not reduce the strength of its internet broadcast during establishing connection with the same mobile device (C) again. The mobile device (C) is identified to the control unit (4). By this means, when connection is desired to be established with the same mobile device again, the household appliance (1) recognizes the mobile device (C), preventing the broadcast strength from being reduced.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) is a cooler.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) is a cooker.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) is a washer.
In an embodiment of the invention, the household appliance (1) is a dryer.
A household appliance (1) having internet connection, capable of easily connecting to a local area network, is realized with the invention. Internet is broadcast by means of the network card (2) provided on the household appliance (1). The security information required for the household appliance (1) to connect to the local area network is provided by means of a mobile device. When connection is being established between the network card (2) and the mobile device, the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card (2) is reduced by the control unit (4). By this means, the mobile device is understood to be in the proximity of the household appliance (1), and the household appliance (1) is able to provide an unencrypted broadcast. By this means, the mobile device and the household appliance (1) can rapidly and easily connect without requiring a security measure once again.

Claims (9)

  1. A household appliance (1) comprising a network card (2) enabling connection to a wireless local area network and capable of communicating with a mobile device (C) connected to a local area network, and a control card (3) in communication with the network card (2), managing functions and programs, characterized by the control unit (4) enabling reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card (2) during establishing connection to the local area network.
  2. A household appliance (1) according to claim 1, characterized by the control unit (4) enabling the network card (2) to make an unencrypted internet broadcast during establishing connection to the mobile device (C).
  3. A household appliance (1) according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by the control unit (4) enabling the network card (2) to connect to the local area network using the security information coming from the mobile device (C).
  4. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the control unit (4) enabling reducing the strength of the internet broadcast transmitted from the network card (2) upon request of connection sent by means of the mobile device (C).
  5. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized by the control unit (4) in which a previously connected mobile device (C) is identified, enabling the network card (2) to not reduce the strength of the internet broadcast during establishing connection with the same mobile device (C) again.
  6. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims which is a cooler.
  7. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims which is a cooker.
  8. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims which is a washer.
  9. A household appliance (1) according to any one of the preceding claims which is a dryer.
