Description

CORNER PROFILE ATTACHING AND ADJUSTING DEVICE
AND THE USES THEREOF
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the field of construction, more particularly to attaching and adjusting corner profiles. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
A comer profile is a profile configured to be fixed over a comer in a building, for example a corner made by walls, a corner of a door edge, a comer of a window edge, and the like. The comer profile is configured to protect a comer against mechanical damages. A comer profile may be further configured to decorate a corner. A more specific type of a comer profile is a plaster comer profile that is widely used in construction.
Following the construction of a building skeleton, the walls of the building are plastered, for example in order to seal the walls against humidity, and cover the walls with a leveled layer, while straightening the building comers. Before plastering, plaster comer profiles are attached and fixed to the building corners to serve as a basis for plaster corners. Then, the piaster corner profiles attached to the building comers are covered with plaster. Thus, the plaster corner profile determines the final angle of a plastered comer, which is normally, but not always, substantially 90°.
As persons skilled in the art will appreciate, the angles of the comers of a building not always correspond to the desired, or pre-planned, angles. This may be fixed by using a corner profile - either for protection or decoration of the comer. More particularly, plaster comer profiles serve as a basis for a plastered corner in the desired, or pre-planned, angles. However, the comer profiles currently known in the art do not allow easy and fast adjustment of their angle to a desired angle when attached to a corner of a building.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Unless otherwise defined, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this invention belongs. Although methods and materials similar or equivalent to those described herein can be used in the practice or testing of the present invention, suitable methods and materials are described below. In case of conflict, the patent specification, including definitions, will control. In addition, the materials, methods, and examples are illustrative only and not intended to be limiting.

According to one embodiment, the second widthwise edge is bent.
According to another embodiment, the second widthwise edge is substantially perpendicularly bent in relation to the elongated flat body.
According to yet another embodiment, a width of the elongated flat body near the attaching member is configured to accommodate in a space between two adjacent wing-like structures of a corner profile, and the attaching member is configured, in terms of size and shape, to be grasped by two adjacent wing-like structures of a corner profile, that are bent inwardly to grasp the attaching member.
According to still another embodiment, the attaching member further comprises at least one male connecting member, configured to engage into at a hole of a corner profile.
According to a further embodiment, the attaching member further comprises two male connecting members, configured to engage into two adjacent holes of a corner profile.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for attaching a corner profile attaching and adjusting device to a corner profile, the method comprising: accommodating an attaching member of a corner profile attaching and adjusting device between two adjacent wing-like structures of a corner profile; and bending the two adjacent wing-like structures to grasp the attaching member of the corner profile attaching and adjusting device.
According to yet another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for attaching a corner profile attaching and adjusting device to a corner profile, the method comprising: accommodating at least one male connecting members of a corner profile attaching and adjusting device into at least one corresponding hole of a corner profile.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for attaching a corner profile to a corner of a building, the method comprising: accommodating a fastener in a slot of at least one corner profile attaching and adjusting device attached to a corner profile; placing the corner profile over a corner of a building; inserting the fastener that is accommodated in the slot of the at least one corner profile attaching and adjusting device attached to a corner profile, into the wall; and tightly fastening the fastener into the wall.
According to one embodiment, the method for attaching a corner profile to a corner of a building further comprises after inserting the fastener into the wall, and before tightly fastening the fastener: adjusting an angle between a first elongated element and a second elongated element of the corner profile by sliding the slot of the at least one corner profile attaching and adjusting device over the fastener accommodated in the slot.
According to a further aspect of the present invention, there is provided a corner profile comprising at least one attaching and adjusting member, wherein the attaching and adjusting member comprises: an elongated flat body having a first width wise edge and a second width wise edge, wherein the first widthwise edge is fused with an elongated member of the corner profile; and a slot along the elongated flat body, wherein the slot is configured to accommodate a fastener and slide over the fastener, wherein the fastener is configured to fasten the corner profile attaching and adjusting member to a wall.
According to yet a further aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for attaching a corner profile, comprising at least one attaching and adjusting member, to a corner of a building, the method comprising: accommodating a fastener in a slot of at least one attaching and adjusting member fused with an elongated member of a corner profile; placing the corner profile, comprising at least one attaching and adjusting member, over a corner of a building; inserting the fastener that is accommodated in the slot of the at least one attaching and adjusting member into the wall; and tightly fastening the fastener into the wall.
