Abstract

An outdoor fire-lighting device comprising: a container for starting the fire with an anteroposterior direction, a front opening, an upper opening, a lower base and two lateral faces; a ferrocerium rod located posteriorly inside the container; a slot in each lateral face corresponding to the rod; and a rough bar housed in the slots, which passes through the lateral faces and protrudes from said slots; wherein the rough bar is movable along the slots to rub against the rod and generate sparks. The device makes it possible to start a fire in adverse conditions, for example, in windy and humid conditions, as well as by people unfamiliar with the use of fire-making devices.

Description

OUTDOOR FIRE-LIGHTING DEVICE
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The present invention can be included within the technical field of solid fuel combustion apparatuses, and in particular those equipped with mechanical ignition systems. More specifically, the object of the invention relates to a fire-lighting device that makes it possible to save time in the lighting of campfires in camping or outdoor activities.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
It is well known that fire-lighting tools require two parts to rub against each other to generate sparks that ignite flammable material when they reach said flammable material. In general, these tools are used to light campfires for cooking food or for generating heat.
It is often difficult to light fires with existing tools, either due to windy conditions or humidity in the environment, or when there is no prior experience in the use of these tools.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a fire-lighting device designed to prevent potential winds, as well as environmental humidity, from hindering the lighting of the fire. This invention may be used by people with little or no experience in lighting campfires by facilitating the process and saving time.
The fire-lighting device of the present invention comprises a container for starting a fire with an anteroposterior direction, a front opening, an upper opening, a lower base and two lateral faces. A ferrocerium rod is located posteriorly inside the container.
A slot is arranged in each of the two sides corresponding to the rod. A rough bar is housed in the slots, which passes through the lateral faces and protrudes from said slots with the ends of the rough bar. The rough bar is movable along the slots to rub against the rod and generate sparks.
Once a flammable material, such as tinder, rags, etc., has been introduced inside the container, the friction between the rough bar and the rod produces sparks that ignite the flammable material. A fire can then be started by transferring the ignited flammable material from the front end of the container to the place where the fire is to be made.
The main objective of the present invention is to facilitate the lighting of a campfire in extremely windy conditions by providing assistance to determine the correct position. The configuration of this device makes it possible to achieve the friction necessary to generate sparks easily and quickly without experience and in a comfortable manner. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
As a complement to the description provided below, and for the purpose of helping to make the characteristics of the invention more readily understandable, in accordance with a preferred practical embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a single figure constituting an integral part of the same, which by way of illustration and not limitation represents the following:
Figure 1 : shows an exploded perspective view of the fire-lighting device object of the invention. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
With the help of the aforementioned figure 1 , a detailed description of a preferred exemplary embodiment of the fire-lighting device object of the present invention is provided below.
The fire-lighting device makes it possible to make a fire in adverse weather conditions (wind, rain), without being an expert in handling fire-lighting devices.
In particular, the fire-lighting device comprises a container (1 ) for starting the fire, with a front end in which there is a front opening. The container (1 ) also comprises an upper end, provided with an upper opening, and a cover (7) to cover the upper opening at least partially. Although in figure 1 the cover (7) can only cover a part of the upper opening, the cover (7) preferably covers the entire upper opening. The container (1 ) also comprises a lower end, wherein a base is located. Finally, the container (1 ) also comprises lateral ends with corresponding opposite lateral faces.
A ferrocerium rod (2) is connected to the base and to the cover (7), near a rear end, opposite the front end. Preferably, the rod (2) is affixed to the base and to the cover (7) in a removable manner, for example by means of a lower connection (61 ) and an upper connection (62). The rod (2) has an angle of inclination with respect to the anteroposterior direction. The angle of inclination can be zero, although it is preferred for such angle of inclination not to be zero. In particular, an angle of inclination oriented towards the front end is preferred, as seen in figure 1 .
On the lateral faces there are corresponding slots (4) located corresponding to the rod (2). A rough bar (3), made from iron, for example, is housed in the slots (4), passes through the container (1 ) from one lateral end to the other, and protrudes from both lateral ends through the slots (4). The rough bar (3) is movable along the slots (4) to rub against the rod (2) and generate sparks.
The slots (4) are preferably oriented according to the same angle of inclination as the rod (2). To operate the fire-lighting device, any available flammable material (5), such as tinder, rags, etc., is introduced inside the container (1 ) through the front opening or through the upper opening. Next, the rough bar (3) is taken from both ends and, if necessary, it is repeatedly slid along the slots (4), making it rub against the rod (2) until sparks are produced and the flammable material (5) is ignited. Once ignited, the flammable material (5) is taken out from the container through the front opening and is placed in an area where the fire is to be made, such as a campfire, for example.
